Chapter 16 The Fourth Warrior

Peter and other teachers filed to the teacher's seat and sat in his usual seat.

Today, though, Peter was no longer next to Dumbledore, because Filch had added two chairs on either side of Dumbledore's seat.

The Hogwarts students had already sat down at the dining tables in their respective colleges. Peter saw Harry and Ron happily looking towards the Durmstrang students, looking for Krum, but Hermione Not the slightest bit interested in that.

The students of Durmstrang and Beauxbatons were still gathered at the door, seemingly unsure where to sit, but soon the students of Beauxbatons were seated at the Ravenclaw table, and the students of Durmstrang were seated at the table. Beside the Slytherin table.

After the students were settled, Mrs. Maxim and Professor Andonova also took their seats on the teacher's bench, next to Dumbledore on the left and right, and Professor Andonova sat on the side closer to Peter.

Dumbledore stood until everyone had found their seats and the Great Hall fell silent.

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, ghosts, and - especially - distinguished guests!" said Dumbledore with a broad smile, "it is with great joy that I welcome you to Hogwarts , I hope you feel comfortable and happy here!"

But those Beauxbaton students were still wrapping their heads in turbans, silently showing that they didn't feel comfortable here.

"The selection of warriors will begin at the end of the banquet!" said Dumbledore. "I invite you to eat and drink as much as you like in your own home!"

Dumbledore sat down, and Madame Maxime whispered to him.

As usual, the resplendent plates were immediately filled with delicacies, and there were several exotic foreign dishes on the table.

Professor Andonova still seemed a little restrained, she hesitated, and took off the fur cloak, the gold thread on the chest was particularly conspicuous on her black formal suit.

She looked at the dishes in front of her in some confusion, as if she didn't have much appetite for British food. Peter noticed that she was looking at a bowl of Eastern European-style tripe soup, but the bowl of soup was in front of Peter, and she was separated by a chair. Distance, she was too embarrassed to reach for it.

Peter nodded politely to her, and pushed the bowl of soup in front of her eyes.

"Thank you," she said gratefully, "My name is Gabriela Andonova."

"Peter Peddy Road." Peter shook hands with her warmly. Her hands were cold, and she seemed a little nervous.

"Oh! I've heard of you. You defeated a very powerful dark wizard. I remember his name was V-V-"

"Voldemort," Peter added.

"Yes, yes, it is Voldemort, I admire you very much." After saying this, she began to bow her head awkwardly and drink her stomach soup.

Peter felt that Professor Andonova was a bit weird. She was very introverted and restrained, which didn't seem like the character of a head of a school. Moreover, she couldn't even say Voldemort's name, which was a bit puzzling. .

Twenty minutes later, two people came in through the small door behind the teacher's bench. Peter recognized them as Mr. Crouch and Mr. Fudge. Mr. Fudge sat on the side near Peter, and Mr. Crouch sat on the the other side.

Mr. Fudge looked happy. After greeting Dumbledore, he cordially greeted the teachers on the teacher's bench one by one.

But Mr. Crouch had the same frown and serious expression as when he appeared last time, and he didn't know what he was worried about.

When the desserts were swept away and the golden plates were scrubbed, Dumbledore stood up again.

The students' voices stopped suddenly, and the auditorium was filled with tension and excitement.

"The moment has finally come," said Dumbledore happily, "but first, please allow me to introduce two distinguished guests—"

"Mr Batimir Crouch, Minister of Magic, and Mr Cornelius Fudge, Director of International Cooperation, Ministry of Magic!"

There was polite but unenthusiastic applause in the auditorium.

Mr. Fudge stood up and waved enthusiastically, but Mr. Crouch remained serious.

"I would like to thank Mr. Crouch for attending personally as Minister, and Mr. Fudge for his efforts in international cooperation - of course, I would also like to thank Ms. Umbridge and the Magical Education Committee for their hard work," said Dumbledore.

Umbridge scowled and did not stand up.

"Next, everyone from the Ministry of Magic will form a panel of judges with me, Madam Maxim and Professor Andonova to judge the efforts of the warriors."

Hearing the word "Warrior", the auditorium became even quieter, and everyone was looking forward to the moment of selecting the Warrior.

"Mr. Filch, please bring the box," said Dumbledore.

Filch came over with an old wooden box and put it in front of Dumbledore.

Dumbledore drew out his wand and tapped the lid three times. The lid slowly opened, and then a rough wooden goblet floated out of it, with a blue-white flame burning on it.

"Students who want to run for warriors, please put your name into the Goblet of Fire within 10 minutes. After that, the Goblet of Fire will select warriors from each school fairly. Of course, for the safety of the warriors, only those who are over 17 years old Students under the age of [-] can sign up."

After speaking, Dumbledore sat down, and the Goblet of Fire was placed in front of him.

The students in the auditorium wrote their names on the parchment one after another, and then stepped forward in a line to throw their names into the flames.

Every Beauxbaton and Durmstrang student cast their name, and Peter saw Professor Andonova give an encouraging smile as Krum stepped forward.

Just when time was running out, the Weasley twins came running, and before Dumbledore could stop them, they threw the parchment into the flames.

"Great!" Fred exclaimed excitedly, "As long as you put your name in, even the principal can't do anything to us!"

A mischievous smile appeared on Dumbledore's face, and a few seconds later, Fred and George noticed something strange—their names were crumpled up by the Goblet of Fire and spat out, and then they were ejected, their faces He has a long white beard.

There was laughter in the Great Hall, and the Weasley twins rubbed their bottoms awkwardly, but couldn't help laughing themselves when they saw each other's antics.

When the time was up, Dumbledore stood up again.

"Okay, it seems that the Goblet of Fire has selected a candidate for the Warrior—"

As the flames burned violently, the first name was sprayed out:

"Durmstrang's champion is Victor Krum!" Dumbledore announced loudly.

Applause and cheers swept the auditorium, and Ron stood up enthusiastically to applaud Krum.

The flames turned red again, and a second name appeared:
"The warrior of Beauxbatons is Fleur Delacour!"

The applause for Delacour was not as warm as that for the star Krum, and a Beauxbaton girl even cried in disappointment.

Then, the flame crackled, and the third parchment was sprayed out with the tongue of fire:
"The champion of Hogwarts is Cedric Diggory!"

In an instant, deafening applause and cheers erupted at the Hufflepuff table. They excitedly slapped the table and stomped their feet, celebrating Hufflepuff College's unprecedented glory in a century.

After a long time, the noise finally subsided gradually.

"Okay, please come forward, three warriors, and explain now..." At this point, Dumbledore stopped. He found that the Goblet of Fire had not been extinguished, and another piece of parchment was lifted out.

Dumbledore subconsciously stretched out a slender hand and grabbed it.

He held the note from a distance, frowning at the name on it.

There was a long silence, Dumbledore stared at the note, and everyone in the auditorium stared at him, and finally he read slowly:

"Harry Potter."

About why the positions of Fudge and Crouch were swapped: Because Crouch was going to become a minister at the beginning, but the incident of Crouch Jr. frustrated his official career, and finally made Fudge cheaper. My Vinnie Snape died in the Shrieking Shack, and didn't participate in the prophecy, so there was no such thing as Barty Jr. torturing Neville's parents. Old Crouch just became a minister step by step.A reader thought this was a mistake, and I haven't been able to reply to him, so I wrote it here. I would like to thank all readers who gave me suggestions and comments, thank you.
