Chapter 1942 Perfection

Chapter 1942 Perfection
In the Western Wilderness, the Buddha's light rises into the sky, stirring up the clouds in all directions. There is a Bodhi tree that has grown to its fullest, covering the sky. Under the tree, there is a Buddha sitting upright, enlightened, with his hands holding a seal. His golden body is shining and his appearance is solemn. Seeing him is like seeing the Buddha.

Seeing this scene, everyone in the Leiyin Hall was in an uproar.

Buddhism focuses on cultivating the mind, and there is a saying that there will be sudden enlightenment one day. Once the mind is achieved, practice will naturally improve by leaps and bounds. But this is ultimately a process, whether it is the previous practice of cultivating immortals by using demons, or the current practice of cultivating immortals by practicing qi.

After all, becoming a Buddha instantly is just a description. The Buddha here refers to the living beings' understanding of Buddhist teachings, rather than actually ascending to heaven and becoming a Buddha in one step. But today, an existence that breaks common sense appeared. He attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in seven days. When he became enlightened, his merits and deeds were complete. The golden body of Tathagata was formed and he became a Buddha instantly.

"What should I do next?"

Inside the Leiyin Hall, on the lotus platform, the Arhats and Bodhisattvas found it difficult to sit still as they looked at the little monk under the Bodhi tree. This change came too suddenly, making it difficult for them to adapt.

No one present looked down upon Bai Chan, the Buddha's disciple. After all, he was almost destined to be one of them, or even stronger than them. But that was all in the future. At this time, they were still the pioneers, and according to the original plan, they would continue to teach Bai Chan, but now everything had changed.

Thinking of this, everyone couldn't help but cast their eyes on the world. Among all the gods and Buddhas in this temple, only this Buddha could be compared with the little monk. Only these two were real Buddhas. Both of them even achieved the golden body of Tathagata. It was just that the golden body of Tathagata of the Buddha had changed on the original basis and turned into the golden body of Vairocana Tathagata.

Feeling everyone's gaze, Yishi looked at Bai Chan with a similarly complicated expression.

"After reincarnation for hundreds of lifetimes, one will eventually achieve enlightenment. With such perseverance and enlightenment, one should be a Buddha, Amitabha."

He chanted the Buddha's name, but Yishi had seen through some of Bai Chan's background. The most important thing for Bai Chan to become a Buddha instantly was a heart of Buddha. He had realized the essence of Buddhism and tempered his own mind to an extreme, which could be called great awakening, and he could become Tathagata in the future.

Secondly, he had penetrated the cycle of reincarnation with his merits and virtues, gathering the accumulation of hundreds of lifetimes into one body. With the blessing of Buddhism's luck, he was able to ascend to heaven in one step and become a Buddha instantly.

Thinking of this, Yishi's heart became unusually uneasy. Compared to the person in this temple, the one under the Bodhi tree looked more like the real Buddha.

At this moment, another strange change occurred. Above the sky, a door quietly appeared. It seemed to be made of gold and jade, engraved with swastikas, sacred and majestic.

Buzz, the door opened a little, and the purest light poured into the world.

At this moment, looking up at the slowly opening door, all living beings instinctively felt a desire in their hearts. Outside the door was the world of mortals and all living beings, while inside the door was paradise, the pure land on earth.

"The Pure Land has appeared. Is this to lead this Buddha back to his place?"

Gazing into the void, the Arhats and Bodhisattvas suddenly gained enlightenment.

Bathed in the light of the sky, Bai Chan became more and more otherworldly. The Buddha's light paved a ladder in front of him that led directly to the sky. As long as he stepped on it, he could reach the paradise that was beyond this earthly world.

Seeing this scene and then looking at Bai Chan, everyone in Leiyin Hall couldn't help but feel envious.

Buddhism has opened up the Pure Land where all the Buddhas can live. But in fact, apart from those ancient Buddhas, although the other Bodhisattvas and Arhats have places in the Pure Land, they cannot reside there physically. Only their spirits can enter there. Only when one has completed his merits and achieved enlightenment can one be led to the Pure Land in the future, escape from the mundane world, enter the Pure Land, and be free.

But Bai Chan is different from them. He was clearly a mortal the moment before, but once he gained enlightenment, he became a Buddha on the spot and could enter the paradise directly.

At the same time, in the envious gaze of everyone, Bai Chan also opened his eyes. His gaze was deep, as if it contained a whirlpool of reincarnation.

Looking up and looking at the portal above the sky, Bai Chan saw a true pure land.

“It turns out that the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss really exists.”

Gazing into the void, Bai Chan saw the Voice of Ten Thousand Buddhas. They sat high on lotus pedestals, all looking at him with smiles on their faces, as if waiting for his return. He even clearly sensed that there was a lotus pedestal calling him, and he could sit on it as long as he was willing.

"Although the Pure Land is good, my wish has not been fulfilled. How can I sit on the lotus platform?"

In an instant of silence, Bai Chan withdrew his gaze, and as if sensing Bai Chan's intention, the ladder paved with Buddha's light began to collapse, and the manifested paradise began to slowly disappear.

Seeing this scene, everyone was stunned. Those who didn't know the inside story felt sorry for Bai Chan and thought he had missed the opportunity, while those who knew the inside story didn't understand Bai Chan's choice. After all, reaching paradise can be said to be the pursuit of every Buddhist monk.

Only as the Buddha of this life, Ruo Si, he, like Bai Chan, is qualified to ascend to paradise.

"Come on, come with me to welcome this kind-hearted ancient Buddha."

A low voice sounded, and his body turned into a rainbow of light, and he was the first to leave the Leiyin Palace.

Seeing this, all the Arhats and Bodhisattvas hurriedly followed. They could sit down before, but now they had to step out. At this moment, all the Buddhas came to the world.

"Please teach me the Dharma, all Buddhas!"

Looking at the Buddhist masters who had manifested themselves in physical forms, Bai Chan clasped his hands together and bowed. He regarded himself as a Buddha, and also regarded all living beings as Buddhas.

At this moment, all his supernatural powers were restrained, and he did not have the temperament of a Buddha at all. He seemed like an ordinary monk, but in the end he was just like an ordinary monk. After he became a Buddha, everything was different.

Looking at Bai Chan like this, the Arhats and Bodhisattvas didn't know what to do. If one gets enlightenment in one day, he will become a Buddha instantly. In terms of Buddhist attainments, there are probably few people in the entire Buddhist community who can surpass Bai Chan. How can they, the Arhats and Bodhisattvas, be qualified to preach the Dharma to such a person?

In fact, the only one in Buddhism who is qualified to teach Bai Chan is the Buddha who has attained Taiyi. It's a pity that after the Buddha attained enlightenment, he fell into complete silence and cannot be contacted at all.

You looked at me, I looked at you, and the atmosphere suddenly became quiet. Finally, Yishi spoke and broke the deadlock.

"I have a copy of the Heart Sutra of Prajnaparamita, which is the truth I realized while studying Buddhism, and I will pass it on to you."

The divine light condensed, and a scroll of scriptures appeared in Yishi's hands, which he presented to Baichan.

Upon seeing this, all the Arhats and Bodhisattvas gained enlightenment.

"I have a copy of the Diamond Sutra."

"I have a volume of the Thousand-armed Thousand-eyed Great Compassion Mantra."

The divine light shone, and little by little it accumulated into a lot. In just a moment, a small hill made of scriptures appeared in front of Bai Chan. The roots of these scriptures were all Buddhist classics. They did not involve supernatural powers or spiritual practice. They were pure principles, as well as the interpretations of these Buddhist classics by the Bodhisattvas and Arhats themselves.

Seeing this, Bai Chan was overjoyed.

"You have already attained Buddhahood. Do you want to enter this Leiyin Temple? After entering the temple, you can practice all the thousands of magical powers and wonderful methods of Buddhism."

Looking at Bai Chan who was happy from the bottom of his heart, Yishi spoke.

Hearing this, Bai Chan shook his head.

"I went to the West to obtain the scriptures in order to save all living beings and guide all spirits to goodness. Now that I have obtained the true scriptures, I will come from where I came and return to where I came from, spreading Buddhism and preaching the true Buddhist scriptures."

His words were full of determination, and Bai Chan gave up the opportunity to enter Leiyin Temple.

Getting such an answer and looking at the white cicada like this, I was not too surprised.

"That's fine too."

A thought came to his mind, and he determined the status of Bodhisattva for the Stone Monkey and others in this life, and bestowed each of them with a Buddhist inheritance. Then he sent them out of the Leiyin Temple together, and the journey to the West was considered complete from then on.

As he watched Shanyuan and his group walking away, the word "Shan" quietly fell in his mind.
