Chapter 414 Grindelwald: "Why is the Elder Wand in your hand?"

Chapter 414 Grindelwald: "Why is the Elder Wand in your hand?"

In a mountain range in Austria, covered with snow all year round, a cold, dark, and far away from human habitation tower stands on the mountain.Surrounded by towering walls, it guards against possible intruders.

"So, shall we go in directly?" Hera took a breath of the cold air and shivered.

Leni nodded and continued to walk forward, "Didn't you come here?"

"No one guards here now?"

"The Ministry of Magic has abandoned this place. Only members of our family are still here." Leni tightened her scarf and waved her hand towards the surrounding walls.

A figure appeared on the wall, wearing a big woolen hat, "Leni? Why are you here again?"

"Grandfather told me to bring him here," Leni said loudly, stepping aside and pointing at Hera.

Hera took off her hat and bowed her head slightly in greeting.

The figure on the city wall disappeared, and then, with a bang, the gate opened.Leni pointed inside and signaled Hera to go in.

"Aren't you going in together?" Hera asked hesitantly, not rushing into the castle.

Leni shook her head. "I'm going to catch up with my friends. I'm not interested in listening to your conversation." She shrugged again. "I don't want to be driven into the kitchen again."

Hera knew that she was depressed because of Faster driving her to the kitchen, so she smiled and walked quickly into the castle.

This is a gloomy castle, a dark, forbidding towering building, and at the entrance, Grindelwald's slogan "For the greater good" is engraved.

Walking along the black stone bricks step by step to the top floor of the tower, the footsteps were fixed in front of the dilapidated wooden door. If Hera remembered correctly, behind the door was the all-powerful first-generation Dark Lord Grindelwald.

Hera took a deep breath, and gently pushed the door open. The lock was broken long ago, so that Hera pushed the door open with a little force.

The window was a very narrow gap in the black stone, and inside there was a stone bed and a thin tattered blanket on it. Through it, a skeleton could just be seen, curled up under the blanket.

"Grindelwald." Hera's voice was very soft, for fear of scaring the figure under the blanket.

The thin body under the thin blanket moved and turned towards Hera, the skeletal face, the eyes opened, and the frail man sat up, staring at Hera with deep-set eyes, then laughed, almost losing all his teeth.

"You're here, and I think you'll be. One day. But your trip is doomed to be meaningless. I've never thought of stepping here again."

"I have to admit, I did have doubts before that." Hera sighed, took out her wand, conjured up two candles and lit them.

Grindelwald's eyes widened, and he pointed at the wand in Hera's hand with his trembling fingers, "Albus. He gave this to you?"

"What?" Hera raised her wand and asked nonchalantly, "You mean this wand?"

"That's right, that's right." Grindelwald showed a look of reminiscence, and soon grinned with his almost toothless mouth and said, "I should have thought of it a long time ago. Besides you, who else could he give it to?"

"Dumbledore gave it to me before." Hera rubbed the wand on the cloak, wiped off the fingerprints on it, and put it in the pocket again. "you know?"

"How could I not know each other?" Grindelwald showed a fanatical expression, "When we were young, we all used to chase the Three Hallows fanatically."

"Three Hallows? You mean the Deathly Hallows?" Hera couldn't get it right for a while, but it's not like he hadn't read "The Tales of Beedle the Poet" when he was a child. The last chapter told the story of the three brothers—it was about the Three Hallows of Death.

"That's right." Grindelwald nodded, and he reached out to Hera, "Take it here and let me have a look."

Hera put his hand into his pocket, he understood what Grindelwald meant, he wanted to see the wand, but it was absolutely unwise, in a cramped room, handing over his wand was simply too scary.God knows if Grindelwald will make a sudden shot?

Grindelwald seemed to see Hera's worry, and he said softly, "I can't use it at all. Dumbledore gave it to you, which proves that you are his master."

Hera still clutched her pocket and looked at Grindelwald.

"Okay," Grindelwald smacked his lips, "I think you must know "The Legend of the Three Brothers", right?"

"familiar."

"That really saved me a lot of energy." Grindelwald got up from the bed as he said, and he gently scratched the stone bed with his fingers. There was a lot of dirt on it, which saved him a lot of energy—it was difficult to leave marks on the stone bed, but it was much easier now, and he only needed to wipe off part of the oil stain vigorously.

"The Elder Wand," he drew a vertical line across the stone bed, "the Resurrection Stone." He added a circle to the vertical line, "The Invisibility Cloak." He drew a triangle outside the vertical line and the circle, which became a mystical symbol, "Together they are—the Deathly Hallows."

Hera narrowed his eyes and looked at this symbol carefully. He always felt a little familiar, as if he had seen it somewhere before, and he quickly remembered that he had seen this symbol more than once in prison.

"Your symbol!?"

"No, that's just a poor imitation." Grindelwald looked very disdainful, and he took a sip, "After I lost power, they connected this symbol to me, but they didn't understand what it meant at all."

"Wait, you mean, this wand is the Elder Wand?" Hera took out her wand, looked it up and down carefully, and refused to believe anything.

"Yes, of course I'm not mistaken, this is definitely the Elder Wand." Grindelwald showed a fascinated look, and he slowly stretched out his hand to the wand, but at the moment when he was about to touch it, he quickly withdrew his hand as if he had been burned. "You have to remember that the Elder Wand doesn't show any feelings. Only by seizing this wand from the previous director can you become its real master. But in other words, it is also absolutely loyal, and it will not do anything to its master, even if it is not in the master's hands."

"I will remember it." Hera took a deep breath. This was valuable news, but the purpose of his trip had not been achieved. So Hera sat next to Grindelwald on the stone bed. "But please tell me, what exactly is Dumbledore's plan with you?"

"Plan?" Grindelwald sneered, "Do you think I still have the strength to dominate the wizarding world? Haven't you seen it all? I can only mold here and wait to die."

"I don't believe that the dignified Grindelwald would be willing to spend the rest of his life here." Hera stared firmly into Grindelwald's eyes, he really didn't believe it, even though he had seen all this with his own eyes.

Grindelwald couldn't speak, he could only look away in embarrassment, and lowered his head to stare at the symbol of the Deathly Hallows on the stone bed, "I lost, and the loser should bear all this. I promise Albus"

"So, what agreement did you reach? Or what plan do you have?" Hera asked.

"I can't say." Grindelwald said in a deep voice, "but your worries are unnecessary. I will not stand by Tom's side, never."

"Because of your relationship with Dumbledore?" Hera said slowly, trying to sound firm, because he didn't want to use Dumbledore as a sword to break through Grindelwald's psychological defenses, it was too cruel for him.

Grindelwald opened his mouth to answer, but closed it again, looking in pain.

"Admit it, your affairs have been exposed, and everyone knows about your affairs." Hera sighed and said softly.Rita is obviously ready to announce Dumbledore and Grindelwald's affairs to the world, and their affairs cannot be hidden after all.

"That's right." Grindelwald closed his eyes. "We once embarked on the road of changing the world together, to gather our followers, to find the magic wand that never loses, the stone that brings back the dead, and the invisibility cloak. But obviously, something went wrong. We parted ways."

"I see." Hera nodded, "So, will you be on my side? I mean the Order of the Phoenix."

Grindelwald shook his head, "I'm just a bad old man, no one cares about me."

"But you are Grindelwald." Hera quickly picked up, "The wizarding world is facing a huge threat. Only by uniting can we defeat the Dark Lord and his followers. We must be united."

"I'm just a bad old man." Grindelwald still closed his eyes, and he refused to talk about this topic with Hera.

In this regard, Hera could only sigh secretly in her heart. After being quiet for a while, Hera spoke again: "So, can you tell me about the Deathly Hallows?"

Grindelwald opened his eyes, looked at Hera a few times, and then turned his head away, "After I left school, I went to my aunt's house, which is Godric's Hollow, where I met Albus."

Hera listened quietly, without interrupting Grindelwald, even though he had already seen these things from "Dumbledore's Life and Lies".

"The Deathly Hallows was my childhood dream, and I didn't share it and promote it widely in my future journeys. But there is no doubt that the symbols I left on the school walls made the world connect them with me. I have to admit that I was obsessed with the Deathly Hallows at the time. Albus and I were like-minded. We hoped to create a new social order ruled by wizards, and hoped to gain a powerful force to defeat death. We will achieve our ambitions. But, an accident happened"

Grindelwald's voice became low, and it was rare to see an expression of remorse on his face.

"We had a quarrel, a melee, a three-person melee. I lost control, Ariana was involved in the fighting force, and she died." Grindelwald closed his eyes again, as if he would see the painful scene when he opened his eyes, maybe he just didn't want to recall that painful memory.

"So, we parted ways, and I can only embark on the journey to find the holy artifact and rule the Muggles alone. I think you should already know the next thing." Grindelwald said.

Hera nodded, "I think I know everything I need to know, thank you." He stood up, ready to leave.

"I think," just when Hera was holding the dilapidated door with her hand and was about to push it open, Grindelwald on the stone bed behind him suddenly said, "Albus must have his own intentions in passing the Elder Wand to you, don't let him down."

"I will." Hera held the wand in her pocket. He had probably figured out Dumbledore's plan, if he hadn't gotten it wrong somewhere.

Dumbledore gave the Elder Wand to Hera so that Hera could keep the Elder Wand after his death - although he may not have foreseen his own death at the time - and then he planned everything so that Harry would witness Hera kill him, and then Harry shot Hera out of anger.Dumbledore is betting that Hera will not kill Harry, as long as Harry is given a chance to defeat Hera, then the owner of the Elder Wand will become Harry.

And Harry has the Elder Wand, and he also has the qualifications to fight against Voldemort, otherwise he might not be able to stop Voldemort from casting a spell at will.

As mentioned in the prophecy, only one of the two can survive.Harry who owns the Elder Wand is the one who truly holds the power to win.

"So, you can see so far?" Hera shook her head and smiled wryly. How could Dumbledore guarantee that Hera could understand everything he had arranged? If something went wrong, if Voldemort found out that the Elder Wand was in Hera's hands, wouldn't Harry have no chance of winning?
This was a big gamble. There was no doubt that Dumbledore was right. Hera had figured out everything he had arranged, but Hera didn't intend to bet everything on Harry.

He didn't intend to follow the route arranged by Dumbledore, Harry's child was very unreliable.

Hera knew very well that only the power in his hands is the most important.Voldemort has already become suspicious of him. If he hands the Elder Wand to Harry again, how can he protect himself and Penelope?
Moreover, there was one more thing Hera couldn't understand: Harry must die, he was Voldemort's Horcrux, if he didn't die, Voldemort would never be destroyed.

This seems to form a paradox, if Harry is not dead, Voldemort cannot die completely; but Harry is dead, and the prophecy says that one of the two will survive.
It seemed like a doomed situation.

"Two people can't both live, only one can survive." Hera murmured and repeated this sentence, "That is to say, both people can also die, and the prophecy doesn't stipulate that the one who survives can live forever." Hera's eyes gradually brightened, and he felt that he was about to catch the light!

"Hey! What are you thinking? It's pretty fast!" Leni slapped Hera on the back suddenly, and she was walking by, talking and laughing with a wizard in a hood.

"you"
