Chapter 395 Elegy

Chapter 395 Elegy
"You are so wrong." Dumbledore's voice was very soft, as if two people were discussing about drinking. He continued to walk into Voldemort, seeing this, Hera and Bellatrix also stopped spelling each other, and each walked behind the person they were loyal to.

"In fact, your greatest failure is not understanding that there are worse things than death—"

Another green light shot out from behind the silver shield, this time the one-armed horse galloped to block Dumbledore's front, and was shattered by the spell. Before the shards hit the ground, Dumbledore had drawn back his wand, waving it like a whip.A long, thin flame shot out from the tip of the staff and wrapped itself around Voldemort, shield and all.For a split second, it looked like Dumbledore had won.

"Hera, it's time." Dumbledore's voice sounded in Hera's ear, making Hera trance. "I can't beat him."

"You mean that?" Hera stiffened, looking at Dumbledore's back in disbelief.

"Please." Dumbledore resolutely walked towards Voldemort, leaving Hera and Harry behind - Harry was sitting blankly on the far floor.

The fiery snake on Voldemort's body turned into a poisonous snake, and quickly swam down from Voldemort, hissing viciously, and faced Dumbledore.

Voldemort disappeared, and the snake reared itself on the floor, ready to fight.
Hera looked at the old man not far away with a complex expression. He was ready to face death, but Hera couldn't do anything, even if his wand was already aimed at Dumbledore.

A flame exploded in the air above Dumbledore's head, and Voldemort reappeared. He stood on the pedestal in the middle of the pool, where the five statues stood just now.

Another green light flew out of Voldemort's wand and shot at Dumbledore, and the poisonous snake also attacked-

Fawkes the Phoenix landed suddenly in front of Dumbledore, opened his mouth wide, and swallowed the green light whole in one gulp. It burned into a ball of flames and fell to the floor, small and wrinkled, unable to fly anymore. At the same moment Dumbledore gave a hearty, wide swing of his wand—the snake—some distance from sinking its fangs into his flesh, was thrown high into the air, and disappeared in a puff of smoke. The water in the pool rose up, like a silkworm made of glass water wrapped Voldemort.

In the blink of an eye, a black, rippling, faceless figure of Voldemort gleamed dimly on the pedestal.Inside, he was clearly struggling to get rid of the waterworm that was suffocating him.

Bella was helpless by the side, she had no idea how to help her master.

Fortunately, Voldemort broke free quickly, and the raised water fell back into the pool with a splash, and a large amount of water gushed out of the pool, wetting the smooth floor.

"Master!" Bellatrix shrieked.

No doubt it was over, no doubt Voldemort had decided to flee.Hera breathed a sigh of relief, maybe he didn't have to do something shocking to the world today, if possible, he didn't want Dumbledore to die as he planned - Dumbledore's life is more exciting.

"Stay there, Harry! Stop him!" Dumbledore yelled, turning to Hera and Harry. This was the first time Hera saw Dumbledore's voice sounded a little panicked, he still didn't understand why, the hall was empty except for them.

But soon, he understood why, Harry clutched his forehead and suddenly fell to his knees on the floor, his wound must be burning like fire, his whole body twisted on the floor.

Hera was completely confused about the situation.

"Kill me now, Dumbledore." Such terrible words suddenly came out of Harry's mouth, which startled Hera.

"If death is nothing, Dumbledore, then you kill the boy"

Dumbledore ran to Harry's side and crouched on the ground, supporting Harry anxiously. He knew he couldn't do that, so he lifted his head, looked at Hera, and nodded firmly.

Herardo couldn't help thinking about it, he had already heard the sound of the flames in the fireplace, and soon the Aurors would arrive here, and soon they would come for reinforcements, but Dumbledore's eyes kept lingering in Hera's mind.

He raised his wand, pointed at the old man crouching on the ground and shouted loudly: "Avada Kedavra!"

A green light shot from the tip of Hera's wand, hitting Dumbledore squarely in the chest.Harry's horrified scream was choked in his throat, and he couldn't make a sound for a moment, and could only watch helplessly as Dumbledore was knocked into the air.

The dry body hit the floor with a splash.

Hera still couldn't believe everything in front of her eyes, he actually did this, obviously he refused like that before. But he knew that this was Dumbledore's choice. He chose to use his death to unite the wizards in the wizarding world, and use his death to announce the return of Voldemort to the wizarding world.

"No!" Harry raised his head, looked at everything in front of him in disbelief, and let out a heart-piercing roar.

"Nice job, Hera." Bellatrix walked up to Hera, who pocketed her twisted wand, sneering cruelly.Voldemort's slender, scarlet eyes flickered a few times, as if he couldn't believe that the enemy of his life had died at the hands of Hera.

"Oh, death is nothing, is it, Dumbledore?" He kicked Dumbledore's corpse with his bare feet, and couldn't stop talking.

Many voices echoed in the hall. The Aurors had arrived, the Ministry of Magic had arrived, and Voldemort was about to leave.

"My child, you will be rewarded by Voldemort." As soon as the words fell, Voldemort and Bellatrix disappeared into the golden hall of the Ministry of Magic in a cloud of smoke.

"How could you do this!?" Harry crawled to Dumbledore's body, lifted the old man with all his strength, and held him tightly in his arms.

Hera didn't answer Harry, who staggered and sat down on the steps of the fountain, his hands trembling and his eyes dazed.

The main hall was filled with people almost instantly, a fire suddenly lit up in the fireplace along one wall, the floor reflected emerald green flames, and a series of male and female wizards rushed out of the fire. When they saw the figure lying on the ground, they couldn't believe their eyes.

"Dumbledore died heroically against Voldemort." Hera stood up reluctantly, and said to the wizards who rushed over.Hearing Voldemort's name, everyone's bodies froze unnaturally.

"How is this possible?" Fudge was out of breath, and his head was dizzy for a while. If an Auror beside him hadn't supported him, he might have fallen to the floor. He was still wearing pajamas under his cloak.

"My God - here - at the Ministry of Magic! Albus he can't. It's impossible."

"That's the truth," Hera said sadly.

Harry raised his head and yelled at Hera, "No, you killed him!"

"Is that so?" Fudge asked palely, frowning.

Hera shook her head, "Potter lost his mind, it was done by the mysterious man."

"I saw it, Mr. Fudge. I can swear that man is You-Know-Who. He apparated a woman." A man in a scarlet robe and ponytail yelled. He was pointing at a pair of golden shards across the hall, the shards of the statue that Dumbledore used to attack Voldemort.

"I know, Williamson, I know, I saw him too," Fudge wailed.

What followed was overwhelming, Harry didn't want to leave Dumbledore, didn't want to go anywhere, and it took a lot of effort for Lupine and Sirius to get him away from Dumbledore's body.

Hera wasn't much better either, and even though he cast the Death Curse, he knew Dumbledore got what he wanted. However, it was still difficult for him to accept all this.He had never imagined that he would be so miserable when Dumbledore actually left him.

"Dumbledore asked me to give it to you. Where is he? It's all fake, right?" When people's attention was on Dumbledore, Lupine took out a small glass tube from his pocket, which glistened with a silver-white liquid. There was no doubt that it was a memory. It didn't even take Hera to throw it into the Pensieve to tell. There was still a forced smile on the corner of Lupine's mouth, looking at Dumbledore's body, he couldn't believe everything in front of him, how could Dumbledore die?
He must be hiding somewhere, all this is his plan, it must be like this!
"Dumbledore's dead," said Hera dryly, sitting on the steps, looking at the huge crowd around Dumbledore's body.

"Impossible, it must be his plan." Lupine frantically turned to Hera, hoping he would deny it, but Hera didn't.Lupine sat slumped on the steps beside Hera, his face in his hands.Hera had never seen Lupine lose control.Hera felt that he might have seen some unseemly privacy, he turned his head, but met Harry's gaze.

There was heart-piercing pain and heart-wrenching hatred in Harry's eyes.He couldn't yell anymore, he could only stare at Hera with his eyes.

"Hera killed him," said Harry hoarsely. "I was here, and I saw it with my own eyes. Dumbledore was fighting Voldemort, and Hera attacked him, completely betraying his trust—"

Tonks put his hands over his mouth, swallowing tears, his eyes wide open. The Phoenix Fox on the floor also left golden teardrops at the corners of its eyes, mourning the death of its master.

People in the Ministry of Magic were dubious about Harry's words, but when they saw Hera's distraught appearance, they began to question Harry's words again. As we all know, Hera is Dumbledore's loyal subordinate, and Dumbledore has also stepped forward to protect Hera. Is the fact really what Harry said?

They preferred what they'd been told all along—that Harry was crazy, downright crazy. He couldn't accept Dumbledore's death and blamed it all on Hera.

Members of the Order of the Phoenix also walked to Hera's side and patted him on the shoulder lightly.Mad-Eye Moody's wooden legs clicked against the floor, and his demon eyes were fixed on Dumbledore's body, daring not to look away for a moment, as if Dumbledore would jump up from the floor the next moment and tell them all this was a vile prank.

But he knew it was impossible.

The man in front of him was Dumbledore.

"Hera, be strong, we still have Harry." Tears welled up in the corners of Moody's eyes, and he patted Hera's back vigorously, as if this could relieve the pain in his heart.

"He can't come back." Hera choked up, he knew the power of his spell, he had no determination to kill Dumbledore at all, in order for the spell to take effect, he almost used up all the magic power in his body.

Even if the spell falls on Voldemort, he will never feel good.

Hera didn't know how long he sat there. He and Harry were almost the last ones to leave, both of them seemed lost and out of their wits.

"I'm going to take Dumbledore back to the castle, back to Hogwarts." Hera looked at Dumbledore's body, choked up and said, "He's the headmaster, he should be buried there."

"He should go back to Hogwarts," said Moody firmly.Fudge wanted to say something, but opened his mouth a few times, and finally said nothing. He let Moody and the others carry Dumbledore's body away from the Ministry of Magic.

No one cared why so many non-Ministry of Magic officials showed up at the Ministry, no one cared about that anymore.

Back at the castle, the oak gates opened before them, and lights shone on the drive and lawn.Slowly, the pajama-clad crowd descended the stairs suspiciously, looking around nervously, looking for what had broken the stillness of the night.

Until, they saw the figure carried on the shoulders by the crowd, the old man with long silver-white hair reaching his waist.

Many groans of pain and shock, but they did not stop, and continued to move slowly forward until they were at the head of the line, gazing at the figure.

"Dumbledore. He fought against Voldemort and his henchmen in the Ministry of Magic. Unfortunately, he passed away." Hera walked at the forefront of the team, and said the words that broke many hearts with great sorrow.

No one was prepared to see the scene in front of them: the best wizard they had ever met in this life, and maybe they would never meet again, lying on everyone's shoulders with all fours sprawled.

Dumbledore's eyes were closed, and from the way his limbs were sprawled he looked like he was fast asleep. The half-moon-shaped lens has long been thrown away.

The crowd was murmuring, panicking, and they couldn't believe it.

But what Hera said, the expressions on everyone's faces couldn't be faked.

They began to sob quietly.

Harry and the other children who were going to the Ministry of Magic were taken to the school hospital. Originally, Madam Pomfrey meant to let Hera go, but Hera refused, even though he still had several wounds on his body, some scratches on his face, and his robe was torn.

However, he refused, he wanted to stay here with Dumbledore.
