Chapter 363 Solomon's Legacy

According to the system's prompts, the sixth volume of the Encyclopedia of Magic can be roughly classified as the "War Emperor" category, but it contains more concepts than the ritual magic of controlling armies, devil contracts, or communicating with hell.

During the reading process, Lin An divided the contents of this "Encyclopedia of Magic" into three categories.

The first is the Magic Manual of Solomon - The Key of Solomon, also known as the Great Key of Solomon and the Collarbone of Solomon, a set of magic manuals for dealing with demons, angels and other powers.

This book is the source of most books of demonology, black or white magic, and is said to have been authored by the legendary King Solomon, who prayed to God for wisdom and commanded an army of demons to build great works to his will .

In the first century AD, the historian Josephus mentioned a book of spells used to summon and ward off demons, which he claimed was written by Solomon after he read the angel Roger's Book of El.

Josephus rewrote King Solomon's Book of Spells and compiled instructions for various ritual magics, spellcasting, obtaining treasures and love, obtaining familiars, and summoning and controlling spirits to perform various tasks.

Unfortunately, due to wars, migrations, and language and translation problems, the legendary Key of Solomon has long been streamlined in different versions.

One can only surmise, based on legend, that the original version contained a number of real names referring to demonic and angelic souls, their powers and duties in the spirit world, and even the powerful names of God.

Over the centuries, references to the Key of Solomon in literary works have increased in size and content, making it increasingly difficult to determine the content of the original text.

Another magic book with a relatively complete content and also plays an important role in the history of Western occultism is called "Solomon's Little Key Lemegeton". It is said that it was originally written in Chaldean and Hebrew, but its origin is even more difficult to verify.

Occultist Walter Butler called it "a more sublime work than The Keys of Solomon" because the book "deploys all the hierarchies of hell to evoke souls billions of times."

The Little Key first appeared in the public eye in 1563, when demonologist John Weill published "Pseu-domonarchia Daemonum" in Latin, quoting extensively from the Little Key.

Later, Michael Scott translated it into English in his work "The Discovery of Witchcraft", which made this demonology book widely circulated.

The Small Key lists the titles, seals, responsibilities and powers of the 72 fallen angels, as well as their general appearance.

Each of these demons possessed teaching skills in science and art, as well as the ability to cause terrible diseases and disasters. The Lesser Key also mentioned a corresponding angel who stopped each demon, although most of this information and text comes from the apocryphal Book of Enoch.

In fact, 90% of the popular culture about demonology and black magic in modern society originates from the small key, not the orthodox big key.

As for the third part, "Magic Encyclopedia VI" mentions the erratic legend of "Solomon's Last Words".

The text was Solomon's last words and is filled with demonology, angelology, and knowledge about medicine, astrology, and magic.

It mentions ways to defeat the seven "rulers" of the world, as well as their biggest "bad habits."

Unfortunately, the manuscript of this suicide note was lost around the 1st century AD, and occultists have only read sporadic records about it in some Greek texts.

Although the source of Solomon's secrets can be traced back to ancient times, "Magic Encyclopedia VI" has not collected many ancient entries. According to Lin An's estimation, its rating is around disaster.

Just like "Encyclopedia of Magic V: The Wanderer Asks the World", the later the number in the ancient book, the more incomplete the entries recorded and the lower the rating.

Fortunately, they all have great potential.

Although there is no new entry for summoning demons, "Magic Encyclopedia VI" provides "cheat sheet abilities" when dealing with demons, including each demon's preferences, taboos, and what keywords to use when facing them to make it easier to achieve your goals.

It also has several fumigation recipes, the creation of seals and sigils, and auxiliary entries for the magic circle, magic triangle, and pentagram, each of which allows individuals to enhance their abilities as they manipulate demons.

In other words, these are "augmentation items" that need to be used in conjunction with the real "devil", a bit like the [How to Light the Contract Candle] in "Black Magic and Contract Book".

However, when demonology was mentioned, Lin An immediately remembered several related entries he had included.

"System, can you trace the source of the entries "King Solomon's 72 Pillars of Demons I: Barbatos" and "Encyclopedia of Magic VI"?"

"The traceability has been completed. With your witness, the rating of the entry "Encyclopedia of Magic VI: Cooperation with the Devil - Contracts, Symbols and Taboos of the Princes and Nobles of Hell" has been improved."

Sure enough, all items related to demonology can be included.

The test was successful, Lin An did not stop.

"System, continue to trace the source entries of "Master of Hidden Knowledge I: The Great Grimoire" and "Encyclopedia of Magic VI"."

"The traceability has been completed. With your witness, the rating of the entry "Encyclopedia of Magic VI: Cooperation with the Devil - Contracts, Symbols and Taboos of the Princes and Nobles of Hell" has been improved."

Very good, it rose to the myth level in one breath.

Unlike ordinary tracing, these consumed entries did not disappear or randomly reorganize, they were just all incorporated into "Magic Encyclopedia VI" and changed to a different category.

From a certain perspective, this is one of the abilities of the mysterious encyclopedia.

Unfortunately, it has another special feature.

Unlike entries that can be traced back to the same rating, if you want to improve the rating of the "Magic Encyclopedia" itself, you must trace back to an entry with a higher rating than the current one, otherwise you can only further "perfect".

Unless Lin An gets the source-level demonology entry, it cannot be further improved.

In any case, looking at the mysteries listed in "Magic Encyclopedia VI", Lin An suddenly felt refreshed.

This is probably the charm of Candy Crush.

The new "Magic Encyclopedia" gave him more flexibility in battle. Not only that, Lin An decided to keep the appointment because he wanted to go to the Masina area.

Some time ago, he used the remaining pages of "Picatrix" to trace the locations of the other two fingers of the Creator.

"This is a finger. It comes from Nzambi Mpengu, the creator of the universe."

"It belongs to the upper east side of the Kalenga Line. It was once held by the [Witcher] among the [Four Living Gods], representing the time of the 'conception' stage. It is located on the South Continent, not separated from where I am by any ocean, and I can walk there."

"This means that it is not to my west or east, but hidden in the south or north - if I go south of Kinshasa, I can get it."

At this point in the story, Lin An suddenly found it difficult to write, as if a premonition told him that based on the existence of objective facts, his inferred "future direction" was not valid.

In other words, the third finger is in the north of Kinshasa?

Although he was very reluctant, in order to go to the north, Lin An had to cross the Niger River and the so-called Masina area.

Now, whether the [Tyrant] issued a challenge or not, he would have to cross that plain sooner or later.

The tyrant was able to travel to Kinshasa and lock onto Lin An among tens of millions of people, indicating that he had some means of long-distance tracking. Once Lin An approached the Niger River, he would definitely notice it.

Since the battle is inevitable, it is better to be fully prepared and face it head-on, at least you will not be caught off guard when you are attacked.

The data moved with his thoughts. Lin An sorted out the entries and caught a glimpse of two entries with the same category - "The Spirit Living on the Other Side of the Rainbow I: Makanga Mahongu" and "The Spirit Living on the Other Side of the Rainbow I: Mumonma Mbathiranda".

He confirmed with the system that as long as he consumed a "Lantern Goddess" medium, he could trace the two sources of C level and get a powerful entry of B level or above.

Bantu's creation legend... Is it an ability related to the universe and reincarnation?

Unfortunately, Lin An can't do this for the time being.

The reason is simple. When overthrowing Tshisekedi, Lin An used mystical magic to brainwash more than 10,000 ordinary people and soldiers in Kinshasa. They have no independent thoughts and can only praise "Long live the chief, long live the president!"

Before, Lin An was in a hurry and locked them in the [Nirvana of the River] space in [Mumma Mbatiranda], making them repeat the 24-hour time fragments.

Lin An wanted to wait until the situation in Kinshasa stabilized and Misulu successfully took office as president before releasing them.

By then, no matter how crazy these people supported Tshisekedi, destroyed ballot boxes everywhere, and held signs to protest and march, it would be a done deal and it would be useless.

Unexpectedly, accidents followed one after another. After the tyrant declared war, local officials in the eastern part of Bantu took the opportunity to unite, delay the election, and refuse to recognize the voting results.

The inauguration of the new president has been delayed again and again. To this day, Misulu has not officially become the leader of the Bantu Kingdom, and [World Tree] is just a "temporary government" of the temporary ruler.

Although at the moment when the radiation of "Comos" is rampant, the laws of civilized society are as thin as a piece of paper, and the ability of international organizations to interfere is almost non-existent, and each place has long been unable to take care of itself.

Even so, Lin An does not want to release the group of brainwashed Tshisekedi supporters. After all, there are more than 10,000 eloquent mouths, and they will inevitably fan the flames in the streets and alleys and do everything possible to destroy the image of [World Tree].

Alas, lock them up for a while.

"Ding Dong!"

The elevator door on the top floor opened, interrupting Lin An's thoughts.

Lin Xile opened his eyes, and a person who was looking around walked in, but did not notice the alchemical life form "stuck" to the ceiling in liquid form.

It was [Architect] Fu Bin.

Thinking of the email he just received, Lin An pressed the button.

"Architect, come to my office." (End of this chapter)
