Werewolf wizard

#257 - The truth from two thousand years ago

The previously hidden Tower of Communion reappeared in the Town of the Undead.

Mary was surprised to discover that Tia, who had been standing beside her, terrified, suddenly changed her expression and looked at everyone present with a complicated gaze.

Then, two people appeared beside Tia: the soul of the undead mage Anthony, and the undead mage Brutus, the drunkard they had seen sleeping at the entrance of the outer Town of the Undead.

Obviously, after Mircat was sealed by Su Nan again, and the completely burned snowflake-like coal ash that had been floating over the Town of the Undead all year round disappeared, the magic on the three of them was also lifted.

Brutus's soul said to Tia, "It seems a lot has happened, Tia."

"But now… it's all over. That Mircat, who has troubled us for more than two thousand years, has been sealed by a young wizard from more than two thousand years later. He didn't repeat our mistakes of the past."

Tia shed tears, stepped forward, and embraced Brutus.

Anthony, on the other hand, was a little embarrassed, and then he said, "I remember, more than two thousand years ago, I seized Mircat's Ring and wore it, gaining a huge increase in magic power, reaching the limit of a First Circle wizard."

"Only I gradually discovered that Mircat didn't want me to become a Second Circle wizard at all. Because if I became a Second Circle wizard… he would no longer be able to absorb entropy from my permanent defensive force field magic."

"It was only then that I realized how much I had done wrong. I found the two souls of Tia and Brutus and asked for forgiveness. We set up a scheme to completely seal Mircat and prevent him from harming other wizards."

"In the end, we failed and succeeded. I lost my memory and was killed by the angry Mircat. So, I forgot all my past repentance and returned to the state before I got the Mircat Ring, mistakenly believing that my wish for more than two thousand years was to seize the ring. I was even misled by Mircat into thinking that I was still looking for the location of the Wizard Tower."

Anthony knocked on his ghostly head. "Isn't this completely wrong? It was I who joined forces with Brutus and Tia, combining the wisdom of our three First Circle wizards—although we didn't have much power left at the time, most of our power had been taken by Mircat—but we still set up this Wizard Town scheme against him."

"This Town of the Undead is like a huge sucker, sucking Mircat inside, preventing him from leaving. Therefore, this Town of the Undead will also involuntarily absorb souls from the outside world of Corfu Island into it."

"However, only energy beings cannot go out."

"I'm clearly a good person, how did I turn myself into a big villain? Tia, you must forgive me. You know, more than two thousand years ago, I cried bitterly and begged you for forgiveness, so we were able to design Mircat successfully later."

Tia snorted coldly. "You haven't tormented me any less in these two thousand years."

Brutus also scratched the back of his head. "And me, I remember, in these two thousand years, you often came to me and ridiculed me when I was muddleheaded."

"However, I didn't expect that you were just a puppet manipulated by Mircat, not much better than me and Tia."

Brutus looked at Su Nan and then bowed, "Thank you, later wizard. Your state of mind allowed you to refuse to be used by Mircat. And your aptitude did defeat Mircat, who usurped the power of our three First Circle wizards."

"You are an excellent wizard. Before our obsessions dissipate, I must thank you for allowing me and Tia to meet again."

Tia also bowed to Su Nan. "Thank you."

"Thank you for ending my two thousand years of slavery."

Anthony sighed and said to Su Nan, "I only realized later that it's better to rely on yourself than to rely on external forces."

"Only I can help myself."

"I, who was wholeheartedly trying to become a Second Circle wizard with the help of Mircat's Ring, had actually lost the ability to continue moving forward. I lost the heart to seek knowledge."

"But can a person's regret and repentance erase their past mistakes? This is a question worth exploring, but it is no longer something I can explore. Our souls have passed through thousands of years, and if our obsessions have dissipated, we naturally won't be able to maintain it for long."

"In the beginning, we designed to seal Mircat, but he killed us in return, resulting in a situation where we all perished together, and our three souls were constantly being fooled by him."

Brutus looked at Mary Baleo with apology. He said, "I'm sorry, I no longer have the ability to undo the voodoo magic on you."

"But in my Wizard Tower, there should still be a lot of information about my voodoo magic. If it is this overly young First Circle wizard beside you, he should soon be able to find a way to undo your curse through that information."

"That voodoo was to prevent Mircat from attracting outside wizards to come in and try to undo this seal."

Mary smiled helplessly.

After all, if she doesn't undo the voodoo for a day, she will be subject to the current situation for a day.

Only by undoing the voodoo will she feel at ease.

Su Nan understood. "So the core of the seal is in that hidden Wizard Tower. The reason why Mircat wanted me to find that Wizard Tower was not for some treasure, but to have me undo the seal so he could leave this place."

Su Nan looked at Anthony. "The reason Mircat repeatedly asked you to tell me that the treasure that could break through the limit of a First Circle wizard and become a Second Circle wizard was in the Wizard Tower was to mislead me."

"But he didn't expect that I could directly catch you. He didn't even expect that even if he underwent three abyssal reticular progressive transformations, he still wouldn't be my opponent and wouldn't be able to escape."

Anthony nodded and said, "That's right, he used my obsession."

"That guy, if he were allowed to leave this sub-space and enter the real world, it would really be like a fish in water. Foreign wizard, you have solved a huge problem for the world."

Su Nan understood that Mircat had the intention to cause trouble at the time, but not the ability to do so.

Of course, if he were just an ordinary newly-entered First Circle wizard entering this Town of the Undead, it would be different.

Logically speaking, Anthony, who was secretly manipulated by Mircat, could at least escape.

According to Mircat's calculations, he should have started looking for the location of the Wizard Tower, and then unintentionally undo the seal for him.

Who knew that he would directly destroy and seal it, and even knock out his Ring body.

Su Nan looked at Anthony and Brutus and said, "Then I have two questions now, let's just say it's my reward for solving a big problem for you."

"Question one, Anthony, you said you reached the limit of a First Circle wizard's mental power, can you describe that limit to me?"

"Question two, what exactly is Mircat, and how much do you know about the abyss?"

"How did you get that Mircat Ring?"
