Warhammer 40,000: Mortal Gods

Chapter 145 Willing to Die

The plague in the seventeenth galaxy has just been cleared, and the ground troops have returned to the two cruisers in the galaxy on transport planes.

Just when everyone thought the mission was over and were about to go home, they suddenly saw a purple light flashing in the distance.

The captains of the two cruisers looked towards the direction where the purple light appeared, and the images in their field of vision immediately zoomed in and out to show the situation tens of thousands of kilometers away.

Twelve battleships are heading towards our own fleet. The fleet consists of two Moon-class cruisers and two Tempest-class frigates.

Most of the captains and crew members in the Tyrone fleet did not have any actual combat experience, but they had received immersive training and simulated battles during their training, so the two cruiser captains immediately felt that something was wrong.

The fleet composition of the enemy ships is very strange, like decoys used to practice tactics or victims used to test the opponent's strength.

However, no matter what the other party is here to do, the warships of the Tyrone fleet in this galaxy will not fight back immediately, but will immediately jump to strategic points in the entire star region.

So all the warships that were performing the task of cleaning up the plague started their dimension engines and disappeared immediately after the ten-minute charging time.

This scene was also observed by twelve battleships that suddenly arrived in the galaxy.

"No energy signal detected."

"They seem to be gone."

In a Moon-class cruiser at the front of the fleet, all information was gathered to the captain on the bridge.

The captain stood on the high platform and observed the space outside the large porthole window.

In his field of vision, the tentacles growing out of the battleship were swaying and flying around, occasionally blocking part of the portholes.

The flesh-and-blood platform beneath the feet was twisting and squirming, and green gas was ejected from time to time from the big mouth full of fangs, making all the creatures in the bridge work harder.

"My lord, they seemed to be afraid of us, so they ran away."

A small green creature named Nurgling stammered while climbing onto the captain's shoulder.

The captain nodded, turned to look behind him and asked, "So we can evacuate?"

The man being stared at by the captain was a huge man wearing power armor, holding a scythe in his hand. The armor with a bulging belly had a big mouth, and a tongue covered in foul-smelling liquid protruded from the mouth, licking the floor.

This is a Chaos Space Marine and an elite named Deathshroud.

The death shroud said nothing, just put the scythe on the captain's neck.

"No, no, no! You can't do this, we agreed." The Nurgling on the captain's shoulder was a little angry, and its voice sounded sharp and weird.

The captain gently stroked the Nurgling on his shoulder to signal it not to resist, then turned around and looked out the porthole: "It seems this is our fate."

"Oh no..." Nurgling cried holding the captain's neck.

"At least we can be together anytime." The captain gently stroked the Nurgling, and then ordered the crew: "Keep moving forward."

The fleet continued to move forward.

From the moment these twelve battleships appeared in the galaxy, the plague that had been eliminated in the entire galaxy began to rage again, and a large number of people on the planet were turning into plague zombies.

These situations were also detected by the plague warlock on the ship and reported to the captain.

The captain who heard this report asked in confusion: "Why is the plague spreading so slowly here? It is much slower than at the Cadian Gate. I thought that everything here was already full of plague."

"For unknown reasons, the plague was weakened here. It lost some... uh, some uniqueness. If we didn't come, the plague would really be cleaned up." The plague warlock replied.

"Oh." The captain nodded thoughtfully, and after thinking for a moment, he added: "This may be the reason why we can't directly enter the Tyrone star system. The entire star area seems to be covered by Geller's position... In addition, I I always feel that every galaxy is a bit weird and scary."

The Plague Warlock nodded, then closed his eyes to remember and feel.

When the plague began to spread throughout the galaxy again, the Plague Warlock felt as if his senses were magnified several times and he was able to feel more things.

After a moment, the warlock suddenly said: "The people in this galaxy do not have firm beliefs. Their belief in that is as flat as water. If the people here had a firm belief in that, the plague would not even have the current effect." Yes...it’s no wonder, this is a remote galaxy after all.”

"That one?" The captain looked at the warlock and asked with a smile, "Which one are you talking about?"

"That, you know, that," the warlock replied.

Another crew member shouted: "How do I know what you are talking about? Is it the one who sits all day long?"

The warlock simply shut his mouth.

There was a roar of laughter throughout the bridge.

Until a crew member detecting the energy signal suddenly shouted: "An extremely strong energy signal has been detected! The specific reading is..."

Before he finished speaking, the device used to monitor energy exploded.

Then, directly in front of the fleet, a series of lights flashed, and a large number of ships appeared in the galaxy.

The captain stared straight ahead. Most of the battleships looked like black dots at this distance, except for one battleship.

"Battleship." The captain was stunned for a moment, and then shouted to everyone: "We were originally going to die, but now the time has come! Prepare to fight!"

After hearing this cry, the scythe placed on the captain's neck was withdrawn, and the entire battleship immediately entered combat mode.

The other eleven warships in the fleet also discovered another fleet appearing out of thin air in the galaxy, and all warships were ready for battle.

The cruisers that had jumped into the strategic point were now back, and they brought many helpers with them.

A total of ten cruisers, twenty frigates, and a battleship named Tyron's Lord.

Adam was observing the enemy fleet from the Lord of Tyrone.

Those disgusting-looking warships made Adam have the instinct to avoid them. He immediately formulated tactics and told his men: "Don't let them get close to you, focus your fire to kill them."

All captains in the fleet took orders and obeyed, and the particle light lances on each battleship immediately opened fire on the enemy ships.

The Lord of Tyrone's battleship is not equipped with a particle lance, but an array of particle lances that can emit seven beams at a time. A large number does not mean poor quality. Each particle lance launcher in the particle lance array has It has a longer range and is more powerful than the particle light spear used by cruisers.

The dense beam instantly spans the distance between the two fleets, with a hit rate of 90%.

After a salvo of the fleet, eight of the ten frigates in the enemy fleet were destroyed, and the void shields of the remaining two frigates and two cruisers were also on the verge of overload.
