Warhammer 40,000: Mortal Gods

Chapter 1007 The inevitable battle

Guilliman entered his private bedroom on the Stone Fortress. He saw Qin Mo standing in front of the bedroom porthole with his back to him.

Although he knew that this figure was just a virtual image and that he was thousands of light years away, Guilliman still greeted him enthusiastically as always.

But when Guilliman tried to embrace the projection, Qin Mo turned around, his eyes deep and his expression serious.

"What's wrong?" Guilliman asked after being stunned for a moment.

"It's inevitable." Qin Mo said, "The war between us and the undead."

Guilliman was stunned again. He was wondering why Qin Mo suddenly said this to him so firmly.

Then Qin Mo told everything about his previous experiences.

From the beginning when he led the Star Gods to find the fragments, to the war with Menak after awakening the Kassa Dynasty, to the conversation with Szarak, the Silent King, and Szarak's overall plan.

After listening, Guilliman sat on the steps with his hand on his forehead.

Then the primarch folded his legs, wrapped his arms around his legs, and sat hunched over.

He may seem well-behaved, but this is actually a sign of a heavy heart and sudden insecurity.

For anyone, the imminent war with Necron-level enemies is not something that can make people feel half secure, not even the original body.

"I'm thinking that maybe I can prevent a war between humans and the undead." Qin Mo's projection sat next to Guilliman, "But I'm also thinking that maybe I killed the possibility of avoiding the war with my own hands. "

"No, that's not right. I am too blindly optimistic. The Empire is too optimistic. How can we have the idea that war will not necessarily ignite?" Guilliman said thoughtfully, "Your rejection of Szarak does not mean that you have given up on avoiding war. Maybe, your idea is right, it is not advisable to seek skin from a tiger.”

With that said, Guilliman stood up and paced back and forth in the bedroom, talking about his thoughts after listening to everything Qin Mo said.

"Instead of sitting back and watching the Kassa Dynasty be wiped out by Szarak, and then waiting for humans to become the next objects to play the role of the Kassa Dynasty, we might as well join forces with the Kassa Dynasty. At least we can have one more powerful ally."

"In front of Szarak, there is nothing wrong with you standing firmly on the side of the Casa Dynasty."

Listening to Guilliman's words, Qin Mo nodded in approval and said thankfully: "You really understand me."

"Don't mention these things to anyone besides me." Guilliman stopped and looked into Qin Mo's eyes very seriously, "Don't say it to Ryan, don't say it to Sanguinius, don't say it to Jaghatai said. Jaghatai may have guessed these things, but he would have been wise not to tell them."

"That's why I used a private line to talk to you about this matter." Qin Mo and Guilliman had the same idea.

The reason for keeping it secret is not to keep it secret: the leader of another human force almost colluded with the Silent King.

What really needs to be kept secret is: if Qin Mo relents or compromises, war can be avoided between humans and the undead, even if there is a high probability that this behavior of seeking skin from a tiger will only avoid war for a very short period of time.

Human beings are lucky and good at compromise.

The reason why it was uncertain whether humans and the undead would engage in a full-scale war before Qin Mo contacted Guilliman was because of luck.

Maybe the undead are just waking up and not going into all-out war with the Empire.

For most of the High Lords of the Council of High Lords, they would not choose to face an opponent as powerful as the Necron if there was a possibility of not starting a war.

In the eyes of Qin Mo and Guilliman, compromising in front of Szalac is tantamount to seeking the skin of a tiger, but in the eyes of those people, agreeing to Szalac's conditions may really avoid an all-out war between the two races.

If what Qin Mo said were known to others, the High Lords Council would suspect that Qin Mo was siding with the Casa dynasty, making war inevitable.

Then there is the suspicion, the spread of gossip.

Even if Tyrone eventually has to work with the Human Empire to deal with the undead, the suspicions and resulting dissatisfaction between the two parties will also lead to cracks in the cooperation.

Guilliman would not allow this to happen.

"I will convene a new meeting of the Supreme Lords in the name of preparing for the worst, and openly discuss the matter of a full-scale war with the undead." Guilliman directly stated his plans, without treating Qin Mo as another human being. The leader of the force said, "I will try my best to promote the unity of the empire. Even the supreme ministers have unanimously stated publicly that once a full-scale war breaks out, the empire will win at any cost."

Qin Mo nodded, thinking that Guilliman would directly confess all the next decisions to him, and that he would have obtained the information that the Tyrone intelligence department might have to work hard to obtain. This meant that Guilliman had no idea at the moment. At the end of the day, he needs another person to help him give advice.

There is no need to know anything about terrible things like the World Engine and the Death Mark Killer.

There is no need to have a clear understanding of the various witchcraft-level technologies of the undead.

All it takes is one person to know that the Necrons once exterminated the Old Ones, the cosmic overlord race that shaped the green-skinned orcs and Eldar, and then shattered almost all the C'tan. Now that we have to go to war with such a race, I am afraid that if it is the emperor who makes the decision, he will not feel confident.

"What is the probability that the Supreme Lord will unite as you say?" Qin Mo asked.

"Since they don't know what you told me and can't take any chances, plus I'm trying my best to create an atmosphere where war is inevitable..." Guilliman raised his head and thought for a moment, then gave a conclusive answer The probability value is, "Nine out of ten."

"What's the difference in the remaining ten percent?" Qin Mo asked again.

"On the Foundry General." Guilliman lowered his head and recalled the current situation of the Adeptus Mechanicus he had seen. "The previous Foundry General died eight years ago. The new Foundry General has only recently begun to be elected. I am not sure about this new Foundry General." What kind of person the general will be, so I can't tell whether he supports me or not, so it's up to him to cast the general."

"Is it possible that the newly cast general is Belisarius Caul?" Qin Mo asked again.

Guilliman shook his head without thinking: "You also know how bad Caul's reputation is within the Adeptus Mechanicus. Even if I force Caul to become the Foundry General, I can't do it."

Speaking of this, Qin Mo closed his eyes and pondered for a while, and finally decided not to ask about the new foundry general of the Mechanicus out of his absolute trust in Guilliman.

Even if the new foundry general opposes Guilliman, Guilliman can still mediate. If he cannot do this, I am afraid that the regent position and power will have been vacated long ago.

"I will return to Terra immediately and hold a meeting." Guilliman walked to the armor stand. "Wait for my good news. Trust me and leave it to me."

"As long as you do everything, I won't have any worries." Qin Mo smiled and nodded, "The communication is over."
