Under the Red Dragon

#74 - The Gradually Changing Dragon Territory

The human pioneer camp was still expanding, far beyond the original ogre camp.

Simple log cabins stood in the camp, and the unplanned construction of houses had begun to appear chaotic.

After all, most of the controllers in the camp now focused on seizing profits with all their strength, sending servants and soldiers to collect related fees on time every month, and letting the camp grow wildly the rest of the time.

More and more people were coming to this land, and those nobles, having lost their shackles, could spare more energy and manpower to send here.

The benefits they had gained in the early cooperation with the dragons were enough for them to increase their investment costs, after all, an undeveloped territory rich in species had too many ways to earn gold coins.

And these people didn't need to care about the construction and sustainable development of this land, only to take it unrestrictedly, so it seemed that the invested cost was almost zero cost compared to the income obtained.

There were also some down-and-out petty nobles and knights who, during this period of development boom, sold all their family properties, brought one or two loyal guards, and came to this 'land of miracles' that was gradually praised as a dead end to find a chance to turn over.

Some civilian mages also joined this ranks, but unlike these down-and-out nobles and knights, even the poorest mages could often rely on their abilities to win over a team.

Moreover, civilian mages often had one or two unique spells and skills because they often had to be in adventure, which also made them very popular with those adventurer teams.

So often the arrival of a mage meant the arrival of an entire adventurer team. Razi was such a mage.

His team had two strong warriors, a priest good at healing, a shadow assassin who was not good at socializing, and a mage, that is, himself, which was the standard configuration for most small adventurer teams.

When Razi and his adventurer team partners struggled to squeeze out of the crowded cabin and set foot on this land, they realized that maybe the rumors were true, their trip was not an adventure, but to make money!

The entire camp had expanded continuously and was nowhere in sight. According to Razi's estimation, this camp was almost comparable to a prosperous town in those noble territories.

In fact, this was already a small town, except for the town garrison without walls.

People who set foot in this place called this growing town Golden Seaport Town.

It meant that what flowed out of this town seaport was ship after ship of gold, and everyone who had gained something here extremely agreed with this name.

The town, which was expanded hastily without planning, appeared particularly crowded. Even though many adventurers and gold diggers had gone to the forests and grasslands, the people who remained in this town still made it particularly lively and prosperous.

The crowded streets were crowded with people, and there were many stalls on both sides of the road, all with strange things, including dark ore, eye-like gems, and herbs that looked like branches.

There were also many terrifying trunks, furs, and bones from various different creatures. The owners of those stalls were all lean adventurers, and obviously these things were their gains here.

Although Razi was only a civilian mage who was lucky enough to get inheritance, every mage possessed a lot of knowledge.

When he shuttled through the crowd with his team, he used his knowledge to identify the goods on those simple stalls. The identification result surprised him. Most of the goods were materials containing rich magic power.

This was a place that mages loved, a blessed place for mages to do experiments, especially those mages who were proficient in magical alchemy, Razi made a judgment in his heart, he had decided to do a good job here.

Razi finally squeezed out of the crowd with his team and found a tavern to rest.

Looking up, a large sign hung on the eaves of the tavern, with a few crooked characters written in Common - Ross and Herle's Tavern.

In fact, this tavern was not small at all. Even though it was noon, the number of people in the tavern was still large.

Razi followed the team into the noisy tavern and found a table to sit down.

Although human adventurers occupied the vast majority of the tavern, Razi also saw some figures of half-elves and orcs, as well as two or three centaurs and kobolds.

Those human adventurers were obviously accustomed to this situation, so they still talked to themselves. Only Razi and his companions were a little surprised by this situation.

After all, in the eyes of most people, races such as kobolds and centaurs were not friendly to humans, especially kobolds.

Although this monster was not strong in combat, it was particularly cold-blooded and cruel to other races.

But these monsters were also sitting peacefully at their respective tables drinking, muttering in languages that the mage could not understand.

Obviously, the personnel in this place were very complex and tolerant.

Looking at the few types of wines and menus written on the wooden wall, a specially marked wine attracted Razi's attention.

The mage waved and beckoned the tavern attendant and asked, "Hey, bartender, what kind of wine is this 'dragons drink and say it's good'? Bring me a glass to try."

Herle ran up happily. Since he and his friend Ross discovered that the profit from selling wine was far greater than simply selling food, the clever Herle suggested that Ross and the two of them open this tavern together.

The most ⊥ new ⊥ small ⊥ say ⊥ in ⊥ six ⊥ 9 ⊥⊥ book ⊥⊥ bar ⊥⊥ first ⊥ hair!

Facts proved that Herle's vision combined with Ross's craftsmanship could achieve good results, not only expanding from the original small restaurant to the current tavern, but also the profits obtained far exceeded opening a restaurant.

Because of the good relationship with those dragon dependents, not only were they taken care of by those monsters when looking for various brewing materials in the forest, but also many of those dragon dependents would come to patronize this tavern.

Especially those dragon dependents, although they understood the principle of exchange, they did not understand the specific transaction value of currency. Often a glass of sweet wine could throw Herle a grain of placer gold or a small, fine gem.

However, Ross and Herle did not let greed blind their eyes. For the tavern, a lasting source of customers was the foundation of their long-term foothold.

So every time the tavern would exchange those exchange currencies that far exceeded the wine for gold coins or silver coins and copper coins to find back for those dragon dependents.

Those dragon dependents saw that the owner of this tavern was so honest, so the number of times and people who came were even more. With the example of these monsters, the adventurers in the town also began to like to spend in this tavern.

Just because the tavern business was so good all day long, even if they recruited a few helpers, Herle had to personally run errands.

Herle stood in front of the mage and explained with a smile, "Several guests, this wine is a wine made by the tavern with a hundred kinds of flowers and fruits in the forest and some precious desserts. It is also a wine that the dragon lords who rule this land like to taste,"

"However, since most of them are supplied to the dragons, the tavern can only provide about ten glasses a day, but now the wine quota has been sold out, so would you like to change to another wine, guest."

The mage Razi glanced at several companions, and one of the warriors also nodded and said, "Okay, then give me and my companions a glass each, um, 'dragons drink and say it's good'!"

Herle nodded happily. This wine was also a relatively expensive variety in the tavern. It seemed that the guest in front of him had some strength, and he also needed to pay attention to it secretly. If there was any situation, he had to inform those dragon dependents in time.

So he said with a smile, "Then please wait a moment, guests, the wine will be delivered to you soon."
