The book "The Rebellious Son of the Guan Family" will be serialized starting from February 2023. The book will be completed by 1 a.m. on August 5, 2024. The period lasted one year and seven months, totaling 4.15 million words.

The first one is update.

In fact, this book was updated very quickly in the early stages.

Since when have updates become so slow?

It should have started in September last year. On the one hand, I suddenly became busy with work. I was originally idle and panicking about fishing, but suddenly I was working hard and making progress——

On the other hand, there were 510,000 words of updates in April, 380,000 words of updates in May, 330,000 words of updates in June, 320,000 words of updates in July, and 270,000 words of updates in August. The continuous updates were overwhelming both physically and mentally.

For a while... I was in a daze while writing.

So the update slowed down.

Of course, this is an external factor.

There are also internal factors, because the further the plot develops, the harder it becomes to write.

This is because Qidian has written several books: "Three Kingdoms: From Hidden Lin to the Hero of the Wei Dynasty", "Three Kingdoms: Cao Cao and Liu Bei Helped Me to the Throne", and this book "Three Kingdoms: The Rebellious Son of the Guan Family, Long Yu Jingxiang"...

I found that as I got to the later stage, I had already written everything I could write, and it became difficult to write new things.

And... as the plot develops, readers' thresholds for "coolness" and "emotion" are getting higher and higher, which also makes creation more and more difficult.

To put it simply, the words I write are no longer enough to meet readers’ increasing expectations...

This really feels like being at the end of your rope.

It’s also my fault that I just wrote it based on my imagination in the early stage without planning the overall picture. What I even considered at the beginning was just how to help Guan Yu win the battle at Xiangfan...

Then all the characters involved in this battle... will be researched in detail. The overall idea is smooth and it is easy to write.

However, after the victory, the subsequent plot...new characters appeared one after another, and new conflicts appeared one after another. For me, it was already a bit difficult and difficult to connect.

This phenomenon... was most prominent after the destruction of Wu and the formation of the North-South confrontation.

There are a lot of things I want to write about, but because I give priority to mastering the information and storing knowledge, I am always afraid of not being able to write well. I want to express many emotions, but I have no idea how to start——

Five or six thousand words are updated every day. Sometimes it takes three or four hours to read the information, then one or two hours, and another three or four hours to code——

Of course, when I say this, I am not complaining to you readers.

This is the limitation of my own knowledge and my lack of ability to grasp the length of the work.

Even the finale almost turned into a joke from the first to the fifteenth day of writing!

But when you get beaten, you have to stand at attention...

The former... I plan to take advantage of finishing this book to take some time to read, accumulate, broaden my horizons... and open up my thoughts and ideas.

The latter, the ability to grasp long stories... There is nothing to say about this. First, practice more when you are good at cooking. Second, when making an outline in the early stage, make it as far-reaching as possible.

Of course, this book has achieved such dazzling results despite so many shortcomings and flaws. This is closely related to the support of all readers——

In my book review area, there will always be such a phenomenon.

It’s just that many readers have criticized it very harshly, either because of the update, or the setting, or the characters, but... they will still read it until the end, and they will criticize it while watching. I can feel the great impact when I look at your comments. The sentiment of "black iron cannot become steel"...

This can be seen from the fact that my reading of the last chapter is still very high.

Many readers speculate that my next book will be about Soochow——

Let's put it this way... In the theme of the Three Kingdoms, Soochow is a trap, and it is extremely thankless.

No matter which website, there are many Shu fans and Wei fans, which can guarantee the basic distribution of a work, but... Wu fans may not really be that many.

It even requires the author to bring over some readers based on his popularity.

So, in Soochow's case... maybe in the future, many, many readers of Milk Candy will get involved and try it, but... right now, I'm not worthy!
