Chapter 25, Student

“I mean, is this really necessary?”

When the stunning figure in a magnificent white dress stepped out from the scripture, Mu En felt a chilling sensation that made his scalp tingle.

Because he also saw the dazzling crown atop her head, which was difficult to look at directly.

A crowned one!

This was actually a crowned one!

The love god actually sent a crowned one to hunt him down?

No way, in your eyes, I’m just a little bug, right? Even if I anger you, it shouldn’t warrant you coming at me with a bulldozer to crush me.

Wait.

No, that’s not right.

Mu En quickly realized.

The purpose of the God of Love, or rather its true purpose, is not him at all.

Because that crowned figure hadn’t glanced at him even once since her appearance.

She had been staring down at the academy, seemingly gazing through the thick rock layers at something.

In those holy and flawless yet incomparably hollow eyes, a hint of greed that did not belong to her subtly emerged.

She was in pursuit of something, something of utmost importance.

But that didn’t prevent her from casually deciding to eliminate that annoying fellow, Mu En.

Thus, her naturally drooping hands moved slightly at the pinky.

In the next moment, Mu En felt as if an invisible dump truck had crashed into his chest; a tremendous force surged through him, and with a muffled groan, he spat out a mouthful of blood.

Just a flick of her finger, and Mu En was instantly gravely injured.

However, as the pinky of the Holy Maiden of Purity continued to move, preparing to directly kill this bothersome fellow, a figure suddenly appeared beside him.

Professor Gran.

He grabbed Mu En by the shoulder and casually tossed out a handkerchief.

The handkerchief suddenly expanded, enveloping the two of them.

Then, as if by magic, the handkerchief, which had initially highlighted the two human silhouettes, instantly lost its support and fluttered to the ground.

The two vanished without a trace, like a great transformation.

The Holy Maiden of Purity withdrew her gaze.

She no longer paid attention to the fleeing Gran and Mu En.

There would be plenty of opportunities to eliminate that detestable insect later, but now, there were more important matters to attend to.

The Holy Maiden of Purity suddenly raised her hand, that long, fair hand, flawless in every way.

She aimed it at the entire academy shrouded in night.

Her ten fingers closed together, grasping as if holding the wedge that fixed this realm of heaven and earth.

Then, with a fierce pull!

The heavens and earth shook!

The entire academy trembled, as an imperceptible crack suddenly appeared on the outer perimeter of the academy, rapidly extending, finally closing after encircling the entire academy.

The foundation of the entire academy within the crack began to rise gradually, as if some great force capable of shaking the heavens and earth was uprooting the entire academy!

“Ah.”

A sigh.

One hand resting on a cane, the other holding a pink star wand, Professor Plum stood before the Holy Maiden of Purity.

“Long time no see, Berenna.”

Professor Plang looked at the Saintess Jingyi, his expression dimmed, and in his aged eyes, there was a sadness that time could hardly erase:

“My proudest student.”

Though the Saintess Jingyi still appeared to be a youthful girl, as one of the few powerful figures in the human world, she was no longer young.

Even the Pink Bear, or the academy’s headmistress, Heatherway, were merely her juniors.

When she entered the academy, Professor Plang was just a young teacher who had recently begun his career in education, so being able to cultivate an outstanding Saintess was an immense honor for him at that time.

Even now, among the students he had nurtured, few could match the accomplishments of this renowned Saintess.

But it wasn’t because of the great achievements or high status of this Saintess who had saved countless lives that he cared for her so much.

Rather, it was during those years spent with her as a girl, he was genuinely touched by her innocence, liveliness, and kindness, by her gem-like noble qualities.

Though he was her teacher, in those years, he learned far more from her.

Thus, he had always cherished this child, like a father watching her grow from a fledgling into a swan soaring in the sky, feeling nothing but contentment in his heart.

“I never expected that our reunion after several decades would be under such circumstances.”

Professor Plang tightened his grip on his cane, the veins on the back of his hand bulging.

“The word ‘fate’ is truly hard to fathom.”

“Wuwuwu—”

The hollow eyes of the Saintess Jingyi revealed no emotional outpouring, only coldness.

Yet her expression grew increasingly sorrowful.

“So it turns out, to completely control you, the Evil God has nearly erased your consciousness?”

Seeing Belena in this state, Professor Plang suddenly realized.

Then, a smile unexpectedly appeared on his aged and sorrowful face.

“Yes, this is you.”

“This is the Saintess Jingyi, revered and honored by countless people, whose statues still stand in many places today!”

“If you had your own consciousness, you would surely fight against the Evil God until the very last moment.”

“So even if the Evil God has tainted you, he could only control you after completely erasing your consciousness!”

But even under control, this Saintess still cried instinctively.

With her mournful cries, she resisted that seemingly all-consuming consciousness, the omnipresent sacred hymn.

“Good, good, good! This is my student!”

Professor Plang laughed heartily, though the corners of his eyes, which had been dry for decades, suddenly glistened with moisture.

“Since my student is already excellent enough, I, as her teacher, cannot bring shame upon myself.”

Professor Plang suddenly slammed his cane down.

Though he was standing on air, the cane emitted a sound as authoritative as metal clashing.

“Teacher has come to save you, Berenna!”

Before the words had faded.

In an instant.

Deep within the earth of St. Maria Academy, enormous gears turned, interlocking with one another, colossal mechanisms clashed and collided, and boundless magical energy was drawn from the ley lines, flowing through veins-like conduits, feeding into the vast network that sprawled beneath the entire St. Maria.

And then.

On the outskirts of St. Maria Academy, twelve buildings gleaming with a metallic chill rose from the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust that engulfed the air.

Towers.

These were twelve pitch-black towers, and as they stood tall, the earth of St. Maria trembled violently, the foundation that had already been suspended was forcefully driven back down.

This time, it was unyieldingly stable, not a hint of tremor remained.

Afterward, on the dark towers, mysterious patterns illuminated, and the immense magical energy drawn from the ley lines, under the manipulation of the grand mechanism, converged into layers of magical structures, continuously overlapping, ultimately forming a semi-circular barrier that enveloped the entirety of St. Maria.

Above the sky, the increasingly massive blue moon seemed to finally halt its advance.

But Professor Plang understood that this was merely temporary.

Even with the grand mechanism of the second layer fully activated, it could not prevent a mad descent of an evil god.

However, it was only meant to delay its arrival.

After all, how could anyone disturb the brief reunion with a beloved student?
