The Witcher: Elemental Lords
#181 - Meeting
After completing various experiments, Dole put down the magic shield and prepared to tackle the flame shield. The flame shield was the shield a fire elemental spirit should have.
He returned to his room, sat down, and prepared to construct it.
At this moment, there was a knock on the door outside.
Dole frowned, opened the magic array, and saw that it was Vice-Dean Lamb.
Lamb walked in from outside, his brow furrowed slightly. He sensed the traces of a strong fire element, and the surrounding magic arrays had just been closed.
"If you want to experiment with magic, you can go to the magic testing ground. It's a bit dangerous to do it in the magic tower."
Dole stepped forward and bowed slightly. "Lord Lamb," he paused, and said, "I'm experimenting with a magic shield!"
Lamb suddenly staggered, a look of disbelief on his face, "You've already created a magic shield?"
Dole didn't speak, but silently condensed the spell model. A circle of transparent, solidified energy quickly formed around him.
Seeing this, Lamb reached out and flicked his finger, sending a magic missile flying out. It struck Dole's shield, immediately creating a pit, a very deep indentation. Then the magic missile dissipated, and the magic shield returned to its original state.
Seeing this, Dole's expression changed.
A level three wizard's attack was indeed extraordinary.
Lamb sighed, "Your progress is too fast, so fast that I'm almost tempted to ask you about your meditation technique."
Dole looked at Lamb and smiled faintly, "If you want to ask, I can tell you." He silently added in his heart, only limited to the Child of the Fire Elemental Spirit.
This meditation technique could be broken down into seven different meditation techniques, but the individual techniques were not very effective on their own.
Lamb was somewhat tempted, but then he thought about it and silently closed his mouth, strangling the idea in his mind.
Everyone's meditation technique was a secret. Others could tell him, but that didn't mean he could ask.
He smiled and said, "I'm not here today to ask about your meditation technique, but because the Glory Alliance of Wizards is looking for us. You are a level four apothecary, and we need your opinion."
Dole nodded and said, "Wait for me to change into formal attire."
Lamb watched him go to change his clothes, feeling quite puzzled in his heart, "You're already so rich, aren't you planning to change into a magic robe?"
Dole quickly changed his clothes. He smiled faintly, "I'm planning to refine one myself."
The Child of the Fire Elemental Spirit had a complete set of equipment for him to choose from, so there was no need to buy anything else.
The premise was that he had to improve his alchemy skills.
Lamb chuckled. He didn't believe that someone could achieve such brilliant results in potion-making at this age and also have achievements in alchemy.
"Then I wish you good luck. Let's go, the city lord's carriage is already waiting outside."
The two of them walked out of the magic tower empty-handed and soon arrived at the carriage. Finn, the high-ranking official of Waz City's logistics department, was still there to pick them up. He personally drove the carriage and seemed to enjoy it.
The carriage slowly drove out of the academy.
Finn was wearing an ordinary brocade robe today, holding a horse whip, looking relaxed and carefree. After going out and reaching the plains, he coughed and said, "The Glory Wizard Alliance now has two different opinions. The first is to send people to clear an area and build a small camp, slowly developing outwards, and finally expanding it into a city. Although the Dark Swamp is polluted by toxins, there are still many resources around it that can be used."
"The second is proposed by the Wizard Alliance, which is to send out a magic tower as the center and expand outwards. The magic tower has many limitations. First, it needs energy support, so there must be a leyline nearby. Second, a complete magic tower needs a lot of people to support it, and a sufficient number of people is also a problem. Most of the wizards in the Glory Wizard Alliance are descendants of nobles, and basically no one is willing to go to a new, barren place."
He finished speaking in one breath and then looked back.
Dole had already lifted the curtain of the carriage and was listening attentively.
Both of these plans were indeed good, but since this place was just starting out, it was estimated that not many people would be willing to go.
When it came to reclamation, there would be few people at the beginning, and it was estimated that many people would reap the rewards. It was estimated that no one was willing to be a pioneer.
"What does the city lord's mansion say? Are they leading this matter?"
Finn said helplessly, "The city lord's mansion agrees with the first proposal, and they will send people to go, but the noble lords disagree and won't send anyone either."
Dole asked strangely, "Doesn't the city lord's mansion have anyone themselves?"
Finn was even more helpless, "None of those young masters and young ladies are willing to go. The matter has already stalled."
He thought about it again and said, "There are people who are willing to go, but they don't have enough qualifications, and their status is not good either."
Dole laughed, "According to the development of general storybooks, this person is either born of a concubine, or too young, or a good-for-nothing with insufficient strength."
Finn turned his head to look at Dole and said, "You've said all the possibilities, what else is there to say? That person is born of a concubine, his strength is not bad, but he doesn't have any qualifications and has always lived in the city lord's mansion, completely a blank slate."
Dole snorted, "Then what are we going there to do?"
Finn said, "To discuss the plan. The other level four apothecaries, alchemists, and people from the magic tower have already arrived. The city lord's mansion has already studied your plan in depth, and now we're going there to discuss the specific details."
Dole was somewhat stunned, "Then why is it just the two of us again?"
Finn turned his head again and sighed, "Williams and the others have already arrived."
Dole was stunned.
Lamb snorted coldly, a deep voice resounding, "This is the nobility, the filthy nobility."
Finn coughed and didn't speak.
Dole raised an eyebrow and didn't ask any further questions.
Three hours later, the carriage arrived at the city gate. A small team of soldiers quickly assembled after seeing the people who had arrived and escorted the carriage inside.
Entering the city, the atmosphere was obviously much more lively, and the surrounding noisy sounds made people feel somewhat warm.
The meeting room was in the Waz City Lord's main hall. The carriage went straight there and soon arrived at the magnificent provincial main hall.
The provincial main hall occupied a very large area and had multiple office buildings, each with its own different duties.
Going in from the main gate, passing through the first few small buildings, they arrived at the largest and tallest building at the back. There were already people waiting there for a long time.
Getting out of the carriage, Dole looked around and saw the people below the building. Besides the vice-deans from his own academy and two acquaintances from the Glory Wizard Alliance, there didn't seem to be any other acquaintances.
Lamb got out of the carriage, and a man with a square face and his subordinates greeted him with smiles.
"Welcome Vice-Dean Lamb. We were just waiting for you."
Lamb glanced at the man, a faint smile on his face, "Director Paine, it's the same whether I'm here or not. Lord Nico, Lord Williams, and the others have been here for several days, haven't they?"
The man's tone suddenly faltered, and then he laughed obsequiously, "Lord Nico and Lord Williams are speaking on behalf of their families, and their nature is different from yours, so…"
"Whatever you say is fine. Let's just go up directly." Lamb wasn't in the mood to chat. He turned his head to look at Dole, who was coming around from the side, and said, "This is Dole, the level four apothecary from our academy."
Only then did Paine focus his gaze on Dole. The first glance shocked him. So young. The second thing he saw was Dole's calm, even expressionless eyes, and he began to think.
