The Witcher: Elemental Lords
#1244 - blackmail
The instant their powers met, the man reacted swiftly, frantically engaging in a power struggle. The next moment, both sides' power erupted.
Dore unleashed his sword light, detonating it instantly, sending his opponent plummeting downwards. The dozens of layers of yellow membrane on the opponent's body, seemingly an amalgamation of two powers, weren't severed immediately. However, the next moment, immense suction force emanated from his sword, enveloping his opponent. Simultaneously, he descended, attracting his opponent while striking again.
In his hand, three laws converged, unleashing almost unprecedented power.
The man's figure was tattered. Sensing his own condition, he understood that his opponent's power was greater than his. The reason he didn't fight at the city gate wasn't fear, but unwillingness to act. Now that he had acted, he realized the opponent's terror.
While hastily defending himself, he hurriedly cried out, "Please stop, Demi-God level expert! I harbor no ill intentions. I am willing to compensate, I am willing to apologize."
Dore heard these words but pretended not to, continuing to slash with his sword. He needed someone to familiarize himself with his power.
Earth element, Gravity Law, Annihilation Law – the three powers mixed together seemed powerful, but weren't significantly stronger. This involved a matter of primary and secondary importance. Dore's seemingly imposing strike actually lacked much offensive power. He needed a target to practice on.
Infinite suction force emanated from the sword, divine lightning flashing, tinged with earthy-yellow light, creating a grand spectacle as the sword swept across the sky.
Boom.
The Law-level wizard was once again sent flying by the sword, the various yellow lights around him shattering, emitting sharp edges scattering in all directions.
He crashed into the distance, but the next moment, Dore caught up and struck again.
Another strike.
Yet another strike.
The man repeatedly begged for mercy, but Dore ignored him. By the fifth strike, he didn't unleash great power, but instead placed the sword on the opponent's head.
The wizard's face was now completely ashen, severely flashing with extremely distorted light.
When Dore stopped the sword, holding it over his head, feeling the extreme power of lightning annihilation, his expression improved slightly.
Seeing Dore stop, he immediately said, "Esteemed Sir, I am willing to compensate."
Dore glanced at him, the lightning on his body slowly receding, but the Lightning Sword in his hand remained on the opponent's head. "Speak, what compensation can you offer?"
The opponent's face was terribly unsightly. His mind raced. The opponent used a sword formed from elements, clearly lacking a weapon. He also lacked a powerful wizard robe, either not having time to condense one, or not commissioning one. There were only two possibilities. One was that the opponent was short on money and had no chance to refine these items. With his near three Law-level abilities, he shouldn't lack money. Relying on any faction would provide a decent annual income. This was a big question. The second was that the opponent might be from the lower realms or another world, and hadn't accumulated wealth in this world.
Thinking of this, he carefully used his power to repair his tattered body, while softly saying, "I don't know what misunderstanding Your Excellency has with our empire. I was only acting according to my duty. However, since I acted, there must be a price. I am willing to use all the magic crystals on my person to buy my freedom."
Dore looked at his opponent, seeing the chaotic flickering in his eyes, knowing that he wasn't telling the complete truth.
He said calmly, "I have no grievances with your country. I just don't want to be involved in certain matters and be trapped. Someone wants to speak with me, nothing else. You interfered, attacking me indiscriminately. I didn't act on the spot out of consideration for our shared humanity. Since you followed me, I won't be polite. Hand over your storage ring, and I'll let you go."
The man's face turned ashen. By this time, his body was mostly repaired, and he had even reinforced his defenses significantly.
"Impossible! The storage ring is all my wealth! Even if I die, I won't give it to you!"
A fierce look flashed across Dore's face. "Then I won't let you decide. Once I break through your tortoise shell, I'll slowly deal with you." He pretended to unleash his power fiercely, about to strike with his sword.
The opponent was indeed fooled, thinking Dore was about to kill him, and became anxious. A milky-white power slowly rose from his body, forming a thick defensive membrane, directly blocking Dore's sword.
Seeing this white membrane, Dore's expression became somewhat strange. Absolute Protection.
However, while it could block damage, it couldn't block power. The strike sent the opponent flying again, turning into a small dot and disappearing into the horizon.
The next moment, the opponent completely disappeared into thin air.
Absolute Protection could resist damage while doing other things, without interference. The opponent escaped in some unknown way.
Seeing this, Dore dissipated his power, stroked his chin, and looked behind him.
In the distance, near Woundless City, some forces were stirring, seemingly about to come this way. Dore didn't dare to linger, but landed and traveled on the ground.
Having completely exposed his power, he no longer wanted to pretend, preparing to make a big splash and thoroughly adapt to the world's power.
However, after exposing his power, trouble would follow. He would definitely be targeted by those God-level powers, and he had to hide quickly.
Dore didn't want to be anyone's divine servant. He only wanted to kill a god, obtain a godhead, and study it.
He looked around. The sky was empty, without a single creature. Their battle had completely intimidated the surrounding living beings.
After arriving in this world, Dore, after obtaining the Tablet of Fate, could vaguely sense some of the destiny surrounding him. That's why he felt something was wrong when he clashed with that person. The power of destiny seemed to be warning him.
While looking around, and sensing the power of destiny on his body, he lowered his head and thought for a moment, then raised his head and flew further north. He felt he should go north, where it seemed safer.
This was an intuition, and also a trust in the power of destiny on his body.
The next moment, he disappeared through space teleportation.
Just after Dore left, three different forces arrived at the place where the battle had erupted, at different times and levels. These people used different powers, and were very powerful, basically all Law-level.
After searching for a while, the three forces left one after another.
On the ground, in the forest, under a few inconspicuous trees, the complex eyes of two scarab beetles reflected the sky, monitoring everything around.
They could sense the three forces, from the Church, and official forces, with particularly complex compositions, and all had deduction powers. However, after Dore used the power of destiny on his body, these people couldn't deduce anything, and thus left.
