The Witcher: Elemental Lords

#1215 - Great World Castle

In a picturesque mountain valley, birds sang and flowers bloomed, with towering cliffs on either side.

A gentle breeze stirred within the valley, rustling through the treetops with a 'sasha' sound.

A tremendous roar echoed from afar, causing countless birds in the forest to take flight and gaze towards the source.

It was the sound of two behemoths battling: a King Kong-like giant ape, standing thirty meters tall, and a morbidly obese demonic bear.

Both creatures had surpassed their limits, existing as lords of the mountains. Now, they grappled fiercely, each strike and punch carrying immense power.

Boom, boom, boom.

Deep within the valley, behind a large tree, space rippled faintly as an almost imperceptible consciousness projected inward from the outside.

The moment the consciousness entered the world, it quickly surveyed its surroundings before shifting its position and darting deeper into the valley.

At the same time, it sensed the clash of two powerful beings outside the valley, causing it a moment of surprise.

This consciousness belonged to Dole.

Upon entering, he sensed the exceptionally rich magical elements of this world, nearly twice as dense as a mid-level world. He knew he had to be extremely cautious, taking utmost care.

The concentration of magical elements indicated that the lower and upper limits of powerful creatures in this world were exceptionally high. It was very likely to encounter a creature at level six or seven at any moment.

To minimize his presence, the strength of his consciousness was only at level five. Therefore, Dole needed to quickly find a safe place to attach his consciousness to a creature. Firstly, pure consciousness could not exist for long within this world, constantly losing power. Secondly, pure consciousness was easily detected by some creatures, leading to capture or consumption, a dire fate.

However, upon entering, he sensed creatures fighting. After a quick glance around, he realized he was in a valley, with the two creatures at the valley's mouth, leaving him with no choice but to flee deeper into the valley.

This valley was enormous, so vast that the distance between the mountains on either side was measured in hundreds of kilometers. A river flowed through the middle of the valley, also incredibly wide, spanning over thirty kilometers. Unless one could fly, there was no way to cross from the water, especially with the extremely rapid currents.

Dole could only move along the valley's edge. Soon, he followed the valley and headed towards the mountain on the left.

He flew and searched.

There were many creatures here, but finding a suitable host body was not an easy task, unlike last time when he encountered a recently deceased person upon entering.

Dole flew slowly, leaving the valley and heading towards the mountain beside it, entering the vast forest.

The forest contained even more species. Before long, he discovered a troop of red-haired monkeys in the woods, filling him with joy.

Monkeys were primates, and high-level monkeys possessed intelligence no lower than humans, making them excellent host candidates.

However, as he approached and carefully sensed them, he felt somewhat helpless. Even the young red-haired monkeys possessed level four strength, and the leader of the monkey troop was as strong as level eight, exceptionally formidable.

At level eight, their intelligence was already comparable to humans, and their mental strength was also considerable. His consciousness approaching them would easily be detected.

He assessed the situation and estimated that his consciousness body, with its stable mental state, could last for about three to four more days. He needed to find a way to stabilize his mental consciousness first.

He planned to repeat his old trick, waiting until nightfall to plant mental seeds in the monkey troop. Mental seeds could absorb the mental power of other creatures, maintaining the existence of his consciousness body.

With that thought, he was no longer in a hurry to leave, deciding to wait until nightfall.

This wait lasted for nearly six hours.

The sky in this world also had only one sun. When night fell, a crescent moon rose, and an unusual Yin-attributed power filled the ground.

This was the power of moonlight. Dole's consciousness touched this power and immediately began to absorb it greedily.

During the day, he dared not touch the power of the sun, or even have much contact with it. It was a force that could burn everything. Even absorbing a tiny bit could incinerate the entire soul.

Only the power of moonlight could be absorbed by the soul.

This allowed the soul, which had dissipated during the day, to replenish a little, and Dole discovered that the moonlight in this world seemed to have the effect of strengthening and nourishing consciousness.

However, he dared not absorb it excessively at this time, even daring to absorb only the moonlight that fell directly on him.

As the moon rose, the monkeys, exhausted from a day's work, finally rested under dozens of trees clustered together.

Without much thought, Dole quietly condensed several dream seeds and stealthily approached a few small monkeys.

The dream seeds were very hidden and easily approached the small monkeys, then merged into their minds.

...

As the dream seeds entered, they quickly took root in the small monkeys' bodies, drawing a portion of their power. Dole felt his consciousness grow slightly stronger.

However, at that moment, a slight change occurred in his dream seeds. Simultaneously, within their subconscious, the dream seeds saw a giant red-haired monkey.

The giant red-haired monkey inexplicably appeared in the small monkeys' consciousness, vigilantly looking towards the direction of Dole's dream seeds.

Fortunately, the dream seeds were hidden enough. The giant red-haired monkey roared in their consciousness for a while before disappearing without a trace.

Feeling this, Dole felt a chill run down his spine.

This situation seemed like bloodline protection. This red-haired giant monkey must have a powerful ancestor protecting them within their bloodline.

This was very interesting. The ancestor of these red-haired monkeys must have been at least a Law-level powerhouse.

Dole dared not act rashly. Instead, he continued to let the seeds sprout, and his consciousness changed direction, flying towards other places.

...

Two hours later, Dole sensed the vastness of this world.

With the dream seeds as a foundation, Dole's consciousness was no longer afraid of dissipating, and with the disguise of the Nightmare Meditation Technique, he flew silently in the darkness.

After flying for a full two hours, encountering countless creatures, he had not encountered a single human, or even seen any signs of humans.

He bypassed the valley, flying forward along the river, and flew all the way until dawn, when he finally saw a human castle in the hazy morning light.

The strength of the creatures here was much weaker, not even comparable to the strength at the valley entrance where Dole had first arrived. Ordinary wild creatures were only around level three or four.

Seeing the castle, Dole felt a surge of joy. It would be best to find a good family for himself before daybreak.

With that thought, he quietly approached.

He did not approach the castle directly but circled around the outside.

Further out from the castle was a small town. The castle was the owner of this small town, seemingly for many years.

All sides of the castle were guarded by people, and their strength was very powerful. The highest even had level five strength.

In this world, level five strength was already at the bottom. Dole had encountered at least level five or six creatures along the way, even level seven or eight creatures who had mastered the rules.

Bypassing the castle, Dole arrived at the small town.

At this time, he sensed the power of witchcraft, a mysterious force enveloping the entire town. Dole dared not approach, fearing detection, so he carefully lurked at the town entrance, waiting for daybreak, waiting for a 'fated person'.

Throughout the night, terrifying roars echoed from the distant mountains, one after another, just like last night. Magic beasts were fighting everywhere, which was very terrifying, and the movements of some magic beasts fighting even caused earth-shattering scenes.
