The Wind and the Eagle Wings at Hogwarts
Chapter 54 054. Conversation with Ms. Grey
"Don't tell Roger and Milton about this for now."
Scott told Eddie, then dressed neatly and left the dormitory.
It was far from the time he and the Weasley twins had agreed on, but he decided to go to the empty classroom on the third floor of the main building to make some preparations.
But when he passed by the common room, he suddenly changed his mind-after he saw Ms. Grey floating alone in front of the library bookshelf.
Maybe because it was Halloween Eve, there were no students reading in this small library belonging to the Ravenclaw College common room.
Scott walked into the library alone, stopped five steps behind Ms. Grey, and spoke politely.
"Hello, Ms. Grey."
Ms. Grey turned around and looked at Scott with a very indifferent look.
"What's the matter?" She asked lightly.
Scott didn't care about the proud and indifferent attitude of the ghost lady, she was like this to everyone.
And if the person who greeted her was not a Ravenclaw student, she would not even speak at all.
Scott spoke slowly, maintaining a polite attitude: "Excuse me, do you know what happened after the dinner tonight?"
Ms. Grey shook her head, "I just came back from the dinner for Sir Nicholas's 500th anniversary. What happened?"
"Someone petrified Filch's cat." Scott began to talk about the incident, "and left words on the wall."
He recited the line to Ms. Grey, "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Those who are enemies of the heir, be alert."
Hearing this, Ms. Grey's face finally changed. She almost blurted out, "Chamber of Secrets? Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets?"
"Yes, Ms. Grey." Scott frowned slightly, revealing a worried expression, "I have also heard about the rumor about Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets and the heir. You may not know that I am a Muggle-born wizard."
He raised his head, and Ms. Grey still looked at him with indifference.
Scott continued: "I just want to ask you if the rumor is true. It is rumored that the heir will release the monster in the Chamber of Secrets left by Slytherin and eliminate the Muggle-born students."
He said this, and Ms. Grey finally spoke again.
"Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets, even I don't know if it exists." She said.
Then, her eyes became a little dull, as if she was lost in a long-lost memory.
Scott did not give up.
"It is rumored that Slytherin and the other three founders of the academy parted ways because of their different attitudes towards Muggle-born wizards. Does he really have the ability to secretly leave such a chamber of secrets and a monster in Hogwarts?"
He asked a little embarrassedly.
"I mean, if the rumors are true, the other three founders would not agree with him doing this, right?"
"Of course they would not agree with this!" Ms. Grey said, "But no one knows whether Slytherin actually built the Chamber of Secrets."
Her tone was reminiscent, "The four colleges are the territories of the four great wizards. Even if they are friends, they will not rashly disturb other colleges. Moreover, they did not doubt each other at that time."
She seemed to have opened the conversation box, and she took the initiative to talk without Scott asking again, "The rumor of the Chamber of Secrets has existed for a long time. At the beginning, some people suspected that Slytherin secretly built a secret classroom to privately teach the students he chose. They thought he was teaching evil black magic."
Scott nodded secretly, it seemed that this was the original version of the rumor about Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets.
Ms. Grey did not stop telling the story, "Of course, when Slytherin left, no one mentioned it again. Until fifty years ago..."
At this point, she suddenly stopped.
"Excuse me, did anything happen fifty years ago?" Scott asked.
"Maybe I shouldn't tell you this." Ms. Grey said, "But you are a student of Ravenclaw. I don't want to see you lose your life because of your private pursuit of answers."
"Thank you!" Scott smiled gratefully.
Ms. Grey said, "The rumors you heard all started fifty years ago. At that time, a Ravenclaw student died unfortunately, and people didn't even know the cause of her death."
Scott nodded.
He knows this question. The Ravenclaw student who died fifty years ago is the ghost who now lives in the women's bathroom on the second floor of the main building-"Crying Myrtle".
"After the death of that student, rumors about the Slytherin Chamber of Secrets and the heir suddenly appeared, and even intensified."
Ms. Grey selectively told Scott some truths that he had known for a long time.
It seems that this is the second version of the rumor about the Chamber of Secrets, Scott thought.
"Anyway, your name is Trollope?"
Scott nodded, "Scott Trollope, ma'am."
"Trollope." Ms. Gray stared and said affirmatively, "As far as I know, Slytherin has no heirs."
Scott asked her in surprise: "But I heard that a pure-blood family in the British magic world is the descendant of Slytherin?"
"That is the descendant of his daughter's husband's family, and has nothing to do with the Slytherin family." Ms. Gray said, "When Slytherin left Hogwarts, he didn't even take his daughter with him. No one knows where he went. Anyway, he never showed up again."
Scott wanted to ask more, but Ms. Grey turned around and refused to communicate.
Scott could only politely thank her and turned away.
However, when he walked out of the common room, Ms. Grey's voice came from behind him again.
"Don't pursue things beyond your ability."
However, when he turned around, the ghost lady from Ravenclaw College had disappeared.
Scott smiled and walked out of the door of the common room.
As he walked down the stairs, he recalled the conversation with Ms. Grey just now.
Although he didn't gain much from this conversation, he also gained something.
First of all, he knew the true face of the rumor about the Chamber of Secrets.
The so-called "Slytherin's heir" was probably, as he guessed, fabricated by Voldemort to gild his own face.
Combined with the background of the times, Scott felt that Slytherin himself just didn't trust the little wizards of Muggle origin at most. He was worried that the little wizards of Muggle origin would turn to the side of the Church, which was also human nature.
And Voldemort himself is the one who hates Muggle blood because he hates his origin.
If Slytherin really wanted to eliminate Muggle-born students, he probably would not have left quietly that year.
Secondly, judging from what Ms. Grey said, the Gaunt family who once claimed to be descendants of Slytherin was probably just flattering themselves like Voldemort.
Slytherin's daughter took her husband's surname after marriage, but her descendants cling to her family's reputation, which is ridiculous enough.
And in this way, the relationship between Voldemort and Slytherin will take another turn.
Thinking of this, Scott thought it was quite interesting.
