The Urban Dao Child

Yang Dao did not listen to what his family members were saying in the training field, he was immersed in his fighting with people. The speed and skills he displayed were enough to shock the people in the audience.

Let alone the younger generations, even the older ones were learning a lot from what was going on. Yang Dao was facing at least four attacks at any given instance, yet he was moving so fast and meticulously that none of the attacks seem to catch him. What was even more, he had already taken out the weak ones.

Yang Tian said, "People, do your best and keep calm, he will target your weak spots."

Hearing all this, the people in the training ground calmed down and their attacks became more sneaky. However, the Dao Child was not affected in the slightest. He fought relentlessly.

Time passed and the practitioners were getting tired, a lady said, "Sister Ling, our boy is not stopping."

Yue Ling nodded with furrowed brows. Athena said, "It will not harm him. His energy is five times that of normal people. This was assessed by my master, after all, he has a special physique."

Yue Ling was surprised and the other ladies sighed, the one who spoke earlier said, "Only this was left to be heard. How come our family is blessed by this guy?"

Mulan said, "Do any of you have objections?"

The ladies shook their heads and the one from earlier replied, "Our son is so brilliant, why will we have objections."

They all loved Yang Dao like their own son. Just as the sparring was getting wilder and tenser, the void over the training ground tore open. Yang Ji stood on the sidelines and took out a big mace in his hand and said, "Everyone, we have guests."

The younger generation fighting on the ground stopped and raised their heads to find a crack overhead. Yang Dao also stopped and said, "Great Granduncle, that is my master."

The people calmed down and Sun Eckhart walked out of the crack, with Elder Jing Shui and Elder Chime in tow. Yang Dao walked out of the crowd and bowed, "Disciple has to greet Master and elders."

Athena also came forward and said, "I have seen Master and elders." followed by Alisha.

Sun Eckhart landed gently in front of Yang Dao and said, "Raise your head, Dao. I hope we did not cause any disturbance."

They were all very curious to find out what sort of family was it that gave birth to Yang Dao.

Elder Jing Shui was already looking around the place, to make an estimation. Yang Dao smiled and said, "It is our honor to have you here master. Would you please come along with me so that I can introduce you to my elders?"

Although it was rude to ask a guest to make a move to meet the host, he was a child and did not care about this much, after all, his elders were all present in the training field. Yang Ji reacted and so did the rest of the elders, they moved and came to stand behind Yang Dao before Sun Eckhart could show agreement.

Yang Dao made a simple introduction and he let the elders mingle. He came to Elder Jing Shui and asked, "Elder is it me, or are you looking younger?"

Elder Jing Shui had gotten used to his brown-nosing and said with a smile, "Is it just me or did your mouth also grow sweeter."

Yang Dao beamed at her and the lady asked him gently, "Introduce me to your mother."

Nodding profusely, the boy took her to meet Yue Ling and Mulan. The ladies quickly became friends and after finding out that Elder Jing Shui was also their daughter-in-law's master, the treatment became even better.

While the people were mingling, a man came over wearing the steward uniform, "Patriarch, the Yue Family army has come over, what must be done?"

Yang Ji said, "Go, have the higher up and relatives escorted here, and let the soldiers stay in the western resting pavilion."

The steward bowed and ran back to make the arrangements. Yang Dao was slightly surprised at the high speed of arrival. He suddenly turned his head to look at his master and asked, "Master, is it possible to call over the young paragons together to face the Daemons."

Sun Eckhart asked, "What is the reason?" his voice was calm, a lot of youngsters were in awe ever since he arrived.

Yang Dao replied calmly, "They are supposed to train a group of people who will tackle the Daemons, however, they have never faced Daemons outside the isolated space. This will give them a proper idea of combat. Also, they have a lot of skills that can be helpful while we fight."

Sun Eckhart nodded and said, "I will ask the fellow sect masters and see what they have in mind."

Yang Dao nodded and things got busy. Soon, Yue Lie Wang personally led the members of the family, ignoring everything, the old man reunited with his daughter after a decade. Yang Dao could not help but went over and asked his maternal grandmother in a low voice, "Grandma, did this old man dump all the responsibility on my sister to come out here?"

Although his voice was low, still everyone heard it. Yue Lei Wang sensed a twitch developing at the corner of his mouth. Jenny nodded with a smile, she was definitely trying to hold back her laughter, after all, who would dare to call Yue Lei Wang an old man.

Yang Dao suddenly snapped his neck and cast a disdainful glance at his maternal grandfather and with a snort he left the room. As he walked out he said, "You better not say that you are old when we go to fight."

Jenny could not hold it anymore and burst into loud laughter, Yue Ling shook her head with a bitter smile and said, "Father, ignore him, he is just feeling a little rebellious, that is all."

Jenny said, "Then it must be since the day he arrived at the Yue house, he has been like this to him."

Yue Ling palmed her face while the old man shivered and said, "This brat. Why is he so disdainful of me?"

Yang Shan, who was watching this all from the side said, "He is like that to everyone who Ling loves. He thinks that none of us can take care of her and that we might make her upset. When he left with mother last time, he warned me, his own father, to be nice to Ling."

Yue Lei Wang heard this and felt better, after all, he was not alone to share this disgust.

It took a week, the neighboring families all conducted investigation and some even lost a few good seeds to the Daemons. Turned out that every unclaimed, barren planet was being used by the Daemons as a base. These creatures also had some human array experts set up formations to provide them with breathable air.

The people did not only use manpower, but also some artifacts to reckon. Elder Chime had conducted an investigation of his own and found that the Daemons, even have teleportation arrays. This discovery sent shivers to all the elders.

A person would become a Daemon, when they gave up their humanity and committed horrendous deeds, they became stronger, when they absorbed human or demon souls. These souls provided them with intelligence. This intelligence made them smarter, however, only when they reached the saint level, will they have a mind akin to a demon or a human.

Things were not as calm as they looked on the surface. The weaker group of people were kept away from engaging in combat. The reason was to prevent the Daemons from gaining nutrition. While the other reason was to make sure that someone is staying behind to maintain the order in the territories.

A strong member of the main family would supervise the things till the main pillars return. The supervisor was mostly an elder lady with a strong sense of leadership. Yang Dao was given a small spaceship which was used by him, Bai Hu, Hector, and Seth. Athena and Natalie were on a bigger ship that was responsible for supplying frontal forces with aid.

Bai Hu glanced outside the panel and asked, "Dao, how confident are you? We have never faced a horde of these creatures. What do you think?"

Yang Dao said, "I understand what you mean, but we are not alone. The saint-level Daemons are left for the masters to deal with. We are just here to gain experience. You all have teleportation talismans, activate them as soon as you feel the pressure being too much. This applies to all of us."

The three heard his words and nodded, at this time, Yue Yun said, "Young Master, the frontal forces will be commencing attack soon, where shall we head for?"

Yang Dao smiled and said, "Grandma, can you take us to the shallow gathering spots? The frontal forces will try to scramble these Daemons and we will pick our prey from the scramble."

Yue Yun smiled and said, "Very well, but you better be careful down there. I will wait here, okay?"
