The Sage of Confucianism and Taoism
Chapter 374: Familiar Policy Topic
Just from where Fang Yun was, twenty people could be seen leaving, and thousands of examination rooms were empty.
Fang Yun doesn't think those people failed. In the imperial examination, which is related to the future of life, any trivial thing may be magnified infinitely, causing people to give up and make a comeback after sufficient accumulation.
Lunch on the second day is no different from the previous day. With the power of the temple, the food carried can be guaranteed to remain unchanged for three days.
After eating a piece of sausage, Fang Yun drank water to rinse his mouth, then closed his eyes and rested for a lunch break.
After the lunch break, Fang Yun opened the final policy topic.
There were ten policy topics, which took up five pieces of paper. Fang Yun placed the five pages on the table one by one.
By convention, the first question in the policy essay is a required question. Candidates must choose two questions that they are good at from the second to tenth questions. The purpose is to select candidates who are good at one skill, such as farmers, workers, doctors, etc. Choose the test questions that suit you. As long as you answer well, you will have a greater chance of passing the examination and becoming a Jinshi.
Fang Yun looked at the first question and read it carefully.
Halfway through, Fang Yun's eyes moved slightly. After reading the entire question, Fang Yun showed a look of recollection.
Fang Yun clearly remembered that when the scholar passed the exam and went to Shushan, he failed on the fifth level and was then transported to the mysterious hall and finally entered a grassland.
The old man Shushan appeared there and asked Fang to use only a thousand people to destroy a tribe of ten thousand barbarians. In the end, Fang Yun relied on his understanding of the food chain and ecological balance to finally complete the mission, thus gaining the supreme Wenxin and the eight talents.
Not long ago, those strategies had been implemented against the demon barbarians, but neither the human race nor the demon barbarians had heard about it, and even Li Wenying, Yan Yukong and others were unaware of it.
The first question of this strategy requires the candidates to find another way to weaken all the barbarians in the grassland without fighting, which are also commonly known as grass barbarians.
Fang Yun immediately remembered that when he left the mysterious grassland of Shushan, the old man once said something that he didn't care about at the time.
The old man Shushan once said: "If the imperial examination policy in the future involves the eradication of barbarians, you can use today's events as a topic."
Fang Yun felt that the examination room suddenly became cold. Did the old man from Shushan already know that this question would be tested in the national examination? Could it be that the old man came up with this policy topic? Or just a coincidence?
After thinking for a while, Fang Yun couldn't be sure, so he calmed down, took out a piece of white paper and spread it in front of him, holding an ink stick in his right hand and gently grinding the ink, thinking about how to write this policy.
Although Old Man Shushan said that he could present the strategy he mentioned that day, the full disclosure of a series of knowledge such as food chains, food webs, ecosystems, ecological circles, and ecological balance will inevitably lead to unpredictable drastic changes.
Everyone in the Holy Yuan Continent has a very strong ability to accept new knowledge. There is no secret in the eyes of a Semi-Saint like bacteria. However, the power of the Holy Way is far stronger than anything else. A Semi-Saint will not neglect the basics to study.
As long as a saint comes out of the human race, one word can change the world. These knowledge are nothing in front of the saint. Even a sub-sage can quickly make the human race rise, but these knowledge are not enough.
"Then, let me slowly fill up these meager powers, let the humans strengthen step by step, and slowly delay the demon clan's offensive until another saint comes out to overwhelm the demons and barbarians!"
Fang Yun went through the relevant knowledge in his mind, and finally felt that it was not suitable to propose concepts such as the food chain. He needed to go step by step and transform the use of ecological balance into a strategy discovered by accident. When his academic degree is higher, he will become a Jinshi in charge of politics. Then slowly improve it.
Fang Yun was good at studying ink, and an idea came to his mind. He remembered that there was a random exam a hundred years ago. A candidate who was good at classics and meaning could get at least a B grade, but a poor strategy, which was a C grade, was very likely to fail. But he was ingenious and applied the ideas in the classics to his policy analysis. In the end, the examiner rated his not-so-excellent policy theory as a B grade.
The examiner concluded that because his scriptures are really good, then if his ideas are applied to policy analysis, no matter what the level of policy analysis is, he should get at least a B. However, another examiner disagreed and could only ask the Holy Judge, and finally the Half-Sage nodded in approval. , that candidate got Double B and successfully became a Jinshi.
Feng Zimo once said that the art of breaking chaos is to seek order in chaos. If you are not talented enough, then write honestly about what you are good at. If you are talented enough, then unify poetry, classic meanings and policy theory, which is the best. policy, because the imperial examination tests a person's comprehensive ability. If a person gets A in poetry and D in the other two subjects, he still cannot be admitted.
The strengths should be as long as possible, but the weaknesses should not be too short.
Fang Yun fell into thinking again. His own classics and meanings could be said to have reached their peak. They could only unify the theory and poetry with the thoughts of classics and meanings, and could not change the meaning of the classics.
Fang Yun took a look at the meaning of his scriptures, and the first sentence of his solution was "Destiny is in the hands of man." He suddenly smiled, because this solution was highly consistent with the first question of the policy theory.
It is destiny for people, not only to live and work in peace and contentment where they live, but also to punish the enemies who harmed them!
Fang Yun smiled silently and started to write, but then he was stunned.
"Good fortune plays tricks on people." Fang Yun sighed.
One of Xunzi's Four Sacred Ways is "the separation of heaven and man." This separation of heaven and man cannot be taken literally to understand the separation of heaven and man. Rather, it means that although heaven has created humans, it cannot completely determine the society of the human race. However, "a gentleman regulates the heaven and the earth" means that the human race can dominate the heaven and earth at a certain time.
Fang Yun said that "man's destiny lies in man", which is in line with Xunzi's concept of "all things are born in nature, and man-made is the most precious".
The use of ecological balance to eliminate barbarism means that the human race is controlling the world and "the gentleman regulates the world", which is very similar to Xunzi's thoughts.
However, Xunzi's "distinction between heaven and man" is different from Mencius's "theory of destiny".
Mencius' philosophy is that in order for people to comply with the way of heaven and respect the way of heaven, it is best to be consistent with the way of heaven ideologically and morally, which is the idea of the unity of nature and man.
Man's victory over heaven and the unity of nature and man have something in common, but they also have differences, that is, whether man can "transcend" heaven.
Mencius believed that the highest state of man is just the same as heaven, but Xunzi believed that man can control heaven, but he did not say the four words "man can conquer heaven".
Thinking of this, Fang Yun shook his head helplessly. The holy way is too complicated. Xunzi alone can make people schizophrenic. He agrees with Xunzi's theory of division of labor, but it is difficult to agree with the theory of nobility and inferiority. However, he also agrees with the division of heaven and man and the victory of man over heaven.
If this policy is written down, it will inevitably trigger debates among the relevant families, just like whether nature is inherently good or nature is inherently evil.
Fang Yun used to support Mencius's thoughts, but now he has to support Xunzi's thoughts.
Fang Yun thought for a moment and decided to use more reliable means to solve this problem.
I am currently at odds with the Xun family. If I affirm Xunzi's thoughts, the Xun family's people with lofty ideals are willing to resolve it, but other Xun family members cannot forget that he suppressed the Xun family, so there is no need to engage in meaningless pandering.
And the Meng family helped me, so I don't need to praise Mencius, but I have to try my best not to criticize him.
Fang Yun closed his eyes and continued to think and improve the entire policy paper. There was a big gap between planning and writing policy papers.
Until night, Fang Yun finally decided how to write this policy and ensured that it was consistent with the destiny of the classics. He even thought about how to change the previous "Recalling Hometown".
The previous "Reminiscences of Hometown" mainly focused on longing for hometown, full of nostalgia, but after being unified with destiny, the natural changes in memory can be used to reflect the irreversibility of destiny. On the contrary, it makes people feel that the past is precious and the nostalgia is stronger. It can be said that it was a mistake that made this poem even better.
Therefore, Fang Yun first rewrote "Recalling Hometown".
After writing "Reminiscences of Hometown", Fang Yun was about to write a policy review, but he did not start writing immediately. Instead, he wrote seriously on another blank piece of paper.
"This article may cause unusual movements. In order to prevent the prying eyes of the demonic and barbarian saints, I hope that the three saint examiners will help me. Fang Yun is grateful."
Fang Yun sighed softly after finishing writing. He wrote this sincerely, because the strategy he was going to write next would have a huge impact on the structure of the entire Shengyuan Continent, or at least it was an article to support the country. But if you ask the saints for help before you have written it, you will definitely be mistaken for arrogance.
In order to avoid being discovered by the monster saints, Fang Yun had no choice but to warn him in advance.
The Peak Mountain, the Holy Courtyard, and the Holy Temples.
The three examiners were sitting deep in the hall, and there were countless brilliance changes in each of their eyes, which finally settled on Fang Yun's white page.
The expression of the old man on the left changed slightly, as if he was unhappy, but returned to normal in an instant. The previous changes seemed like hallucinations.
The old man on the right brushed his beard and smiled and said: "You are brave."
Mi Fengdian, the half-saint of Shu Kingdom in the middle, smiled slightly but said nothing.
In Jiangzhou Literary Academy, Fang Yun raised his hand to the sky, then picked up his pen and slowly wrote the text.
"My answer: Mencius said that the time and place of heaven are beneficial to people and people. If there is no one to make peace with them, then the time and place of heaven and earth will prevail. Heaven has quality but no form, and can be directed or reversed. If it goes well, the grain will be abundant, but if it goes against it, there will be endless misfortunes..."
Fang Yun unfolds based on Mencius' famous saying, "The weather is not as good as the right place, and the right place is not as good as the people." The smooth transition to "heaven" is immediately highly unified with the meaning of the previous chapter, and it is also consistent with Mencius in terms of prosperity and adversity.
But next, Fang Yun did not flatter Mencius, but used his own ideas to explain that people can control the world. Because the details of the strategy have not been written yet, there has never been any vision.
After expounding his ideas, Fang Yun slowly wrote down four words, which serve as the boldness and core of this policy statement.
Man can conquer heaven.
Before I finished writing the four words, I saw the black characters on the white paper changing rapidly. The white paper was glowing, and the black characters were golden. There seemed to be a magical force under the paper, dragging the page slowly up to the surface.
Waves of pleasant sounds gushed out from between the lines, as if the power of heaven was reciting this article.
Before the vision of this article could be fully revealed, a force as majestic as a mountain descended from the sky, suppressing all visions and making this black and white text become extremely ordinary.
Fang Yun secretly breathed a sigh of relief, so at least for a short period of time, he didn't have to worry about being detected by the demonic saints.
With the help of three examiners, Fang Yun put aside all selfish thoughts, his literary thoughts surged, and he quickly wrote the policy.
While Fang Yun was writing, the three half-saints of the Temple no longer cared about the rest of the examination room and focused on Fang Yun's article.
