After spending five days at the construction site of the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River, Liu Tao went to inspect the four major hydropower stations on the Jinsha River.

It is also because of these large amounts of infrastructure, the development of real estate, and the accelerated urbanization process that factories throughout society are frantically expanding their production capacity.

No matter how much the steel mills expand their production capacity, it seems that it is not enough!

The continuous expansion of cement plants seems to be a bottomless pit, and they use up as much as they produce.

The four major hydropower stations on the Jinsha River started construction in mid-1989 and have been under construction for five and a half years.

Liu Tao first came to Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station, which is 157 kilometers from the dam site of Xiluodu Hydropower Station, 1.5 kilometers from Shuifu County and 33 kilometers from YB City.

When the normal water storage level of this hydropower station is 380 meters, it can guarantee an output of 20.09 million kilowatts, an average annual power generation of 30.747 billion kilowatt-hours, and a total installed capacity of 7.75 million kilowatts (8 800,000-kilowatt giant turbines and 3 450,000-kilowatt large turbines).

"Leader, the first batch of units have successfully generated electricity, and the construction will be completed in another two years!" said Ye Xianggao, chief engineer of Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station with confidence.

The construction progress of Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station is ahead of the original schedule.

"You have done a good job, and I will ask for your credit!" Liu Tao said.

The Xiangjiaba project can be said to be equivalent to one-third of the Three Gorges Project.

The Three Gorges Hydropower Station Project and the Jinsha River Four Hydropower Station Project are connected as one. The annual power generation of the Jinsha River Four Hydropower Stations is almost equivalent to that of two Three Gorges Hydropower Stations, and it also solves the biggest problem of the Three Gorges - siltation.

The middle reaches of the Jinsha River is one of the main sand-producing areas of the Yangtze River. The average sand content for many years is 1.7 kilograms per cubic meter, which is about 1/2 of the sand entering the Three Gorges Reservoir.

In the future, a large amount of sand will be produced here every year for construction projects.

To be honest, the progress of the Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station project has been beyond imagination. The construction team has overcome a lot of difficulties and experienced many tests. In more than four years, it has experienced two 10-year floods and one 20-year flood.

The Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station achieved the first batch of units in May, and the power generation was very considerable.

It was also the first batch of units in the Jinsha River Four Hydropower Stations that achieved power generation, ensuring that there was no power outage in the city in East China from May to now this year.

The ±800 kV DC UHV localization demonstration project from Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station to Shanghai is the most advanced power system with the highest voltage level in China. It has been submitted to the state and has won provincial and ministerial awards. It is very likely to win a national award this year.

At present, the Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station has been praised, but the award will have to wait until the project is completed.

Liu Tao and Ye Xianggao walked together, watching the water flow down to drive the giant turbine, continuously converting water energy into mechanical energy, which is clean energy.

The four major hydropower stations on the Jinsha River and the Three Gorges Hydropower Station are mainly used for west-to-east power transmission, supplying the East China region.

Liu Tao repaired some defects of the Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station and had a meal at the construction site. The food at the construction site was not bad, with fish, meat and vegetables, and the soup was seaweed egg soup.

Then Liu Tao went to the Xiluodu Hydropower Station in the evening.

Xiluodu Hydropower Station is located at the junction of Leibo County, Sichuan and Yongshan County, Yunnan Province. The four major hydropower stations on the Jinsha River are comprehensive water conservancy projects integrating power generation, flood control, sand blocking, navigation and other benefits.

The original canyon has now become a flat lake.

It can be said that another miracle of a flat lake in a high canyon was born in China.

When the hydropower station is fully put into operation, the annual power generation will be almost equivalent to the energy released by the combustion of 22 million tons of coal.

That is to say, it is equivalent to burning 22 million tons of coal less each year, reducing more than 40 million tons of carbon dioxide and more than 400,000 tons of nitrogen dioxide.

The Xiluodu Hydropower Station was put into operation not long ago.

It is expected that all units will be officially put into operation and completed in two years.

The combined power generation of Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station and Xiluodu Hydropower Station is slightly greater than that of the Three Gorges Dam.

When Liu Tao arrived at the Xiluodu Hydropower Station, the chief engineer of the Xiluodu Hydropower Station, Weng Yongqiang, was already waiting.

Weng Yongqiang was appointed as the chief design engineer of the Xiluodu Hydropower Station in 1985. He led the team to travel through mountains and rivers to conduct on-site investigations. It took four years to complete a series of design work.

After completing all the design work, Weng Yongqiang was appointed as the chief engineer of the Xiluodu Hydropower Station and led the construction team to start the arduous construction.

Back then, Weng Yongqiang was an apprentice with Soviet experts and participated in the Sanmenxia Water Conservancy Project. Now he is the chief engineer of the Xiluodu Hydropower Station. In the past fifteen years, Weng Yongqiang has served as the chief engineer and chief engineer of three large reservoir hydropower stations. He has extremely solid professional knowledge and construction experience. He was appointed as the chief designer and chief engineer of the Xiluodu Hydropower Station and participated in the design of the Three Gorges Dam.

Speaking of Weng Yongqiang, he is definitely an authoritative expert in China's water conservancy and hydropower.
