After Lin Chu resumed her normal breathing, he stuffed an ice cube directly into her mouth and said, “Let it stay in your mouth for a while. You’ll feel better.”

She felt his touch lingered on her lips and it made her numb. Her face was already red from all the coughing, but it was even redder now.

“What’s wrong?” Yan Beicheng asked with his face looking concerned. He put his face a little too close to hers.

She felt like she was breathing in the air that he was exhaling when he talked. However, she could tell from his expression that he was genuinely concerned, so she did not know how to ask him to stay further away from her.

“There’s a fishbone stuck inside my throat…” Lin Chu was mortified. She did not know it was possible to embarrass herself even during a meal.
