The Mountain of Ice and Fire

#808 - Green Prophet·Iron Bank·Black and White Court

Melisandre said, "Lord Petyr, Lord Tyrion, whether we fight or negotiate, let's first see what we can get from Daenerys."

Littlefinger's face showed his signature mischievous smile: "Lady Melisandre, whether we talk or fight, the Iron Throne can no longer be occupied by Tommen, the bastard born of Cersei and Jaime's incest, wouldn't you agree?"

"Bastard Tommen? Do you have evidence?" Tyrion Lannister, the Imp, shrugged.

"Of course, I have evidence!"

"Let's see it!"

"Imp, I will reveal this evidence when necessary. However, Imp, do you think it's better to let Tommen Lannister step down gracefully, or to send him to the gallows for treason? Once I reveal the evidence, Cersei, Tommen, and even Jaime will be nailed to the pillar of shame and charged with treason. Are you really so lacking in self-awareness, clever as you are?"

The Imp was speechless, his breath catching in his throat!

Littlefinger smiled slightly, irony hanging on the corner of his lips: "Imp, Lady Melisandre makes sense. Whether we kill Daenerys or let her live and obediently retreat, we should talk first." Littlefinger turned to the Mountain, "Lord Mountain, the Imp is cunning and scheming. He has long served Daenerys, and I suspect his loyalty to you is forced, not genuine. In his depraved heart, who knows who he truly serves!"

"Littlefinger, you are so skilled at sowing discord; I'm amazed you're still alive."

Littlefinger smiled slightly, not hiding his arrogance!

The Mountain looked at Littlefinger and the Imp, and after a moment of silence, he said, "Lord Petyr, Lord Tyrion, I want you both to go to Dragonstone with me to see Daenerys and tell her my conditions."

Littlefinger said, "Lord Mountain, if Daenerys agrees to all our conditions and withdraws her troops, the issue of the heir to the Iron Throne…"

"External affairs first, then internal affairs," the Mountain said in a deep voice. "Deal with Daenerys first, then hold a Small Council meeting to decide who will sit on the Iron Throne."

"As you command, Lord," Littlefinger and the Imp said together.

"Then let's see what we can get from Daenerys."

Meanwhile, on Dragonstone.

A large ship slowly sailed into the harbor, with Jon Targaryen standing at the bow; he was pushing a wheelchair, with Bran Stark sitting in it. Beside them stood a sturdy woman with fiery red hair, her eyes piercing like awls. This red-haired woman carried a bow and arrows on her back, her face resolute, and a bone knife at her waist.

Ygritte, the Free Folk warrior!

Behind Jon, Bran, and Ygritte were several warriors dressed in black, rangers from the Wall: Todder, Grenn, Samwell, Pyp, and Hollin.

At the harbor, Daenerys stood on the dock, accompanied by Ser Jorah Mormont, Ser Barristan Selmy, Missandei, Grey Worm, Hero, the Tattered Prince, Aggo, and Rakharo.

Daenerys's gaze was fixed on Jon, drawn to his black hair and grey eyes. Jon possessed a rare air of composure, but lacked the silver-gold hair and violet eyes of the Targaryen family.

Is this young man her nephew?

Is he Rhaegar Targaryen's son?

On the ship, Jon was stunned by Daenerys's beauty; he had never seen such an exquisite woman. Her skin and features were flawless, perfect to the extreme.

Aside from Bran, the rangers and sailors on the ship were all shocked by Daenerys's beauty! Even Ygritte, as a woman, was mesmerized!

How could there be such a beautiful woman in the world!

Whether it was the wild beauty of Arianne Martell, the demure Roslin Frey, or the seductive Melisandre, at this moment, in Jon's eyes, none could compare to Daenerys's beauty. Ygritte beside him was lithe and full of vitality, but compared to Daenerys, she seemed coarse as gravel.

Only Bran Stark in the wheelchair remained calm, like still water.

On Bran's shoulder sat the Three-Eyed Raven, familiar to Daenerys, with its shiny black feathers and a bright eye in the center of its head. The raven chirped softly and flew towards Daenerys, who held out her hand. The Three-Eyed Raven landed on Daenerys's palm, making soft cooing sounds.

The soft sound brought Jon back to his senses. The ship docked with a jolt, and Ygritte and the others also came to their senses. Ygritte glanced at Jon, who looked as usual, not dazed, which pleased her.

The group disembarked, and Daenerys stood motionless on the dock.

Jon pushed the wheelchair to Daenerys.

"Bran Stark!" Daenerys reached out to Bran Stark in the wheelchair, "Your Three-Eyed Raven often brings you and me together in dreams; I think we should be familiar friends."

"Yes, Your Grace," Bran reached out and shook Daenerys's hand.

"This is Jon?" Daenerys asked Bran Stark. She had already seen Jon in her dreams and knew his true identity; she was asking even though she knew the answer.

Bran glanced at Jon and nodded.

Jon said, "Jon Targaryen greets Your Grace." He knelt on one knee, paying homage to Daenerys. This gesture pleased Daenerys. She smiled, and the smile was like spring arriving, the earth thawing, and the sun shining brightly.

Barristan Selmy and Jorah Mormont looked shocked.

Jon Snow is Jon Targaryen? Her Grace had never mentioned it to them. Barristan and Jorah Mormont both knew that Jon had a bastard's identity: Jon Snow. He was the bastard son of Eddard Stark, the Lord of the North. Looking at his black cloak, black clothes, and black armor, this guy was undoubtedly a man of the Night's Watch.

Her Grace hadn't told them beforehand that uninvited guests would arrive today; she had simply led them to the harbor to wait, saying suddenly that important guests were coming.

Barristan and Jorah were also amazed by the Three-Eyed Raven that had landed on Daenerys's palm. They had never seen a raven with three eyes before, nor had they heard Her Grace mention her dreams.

Missandei, Grey Worm, Hero, the Bloodriders, and the Tattered Prince were also seeing a raven with three eyes for the first time. They were puzzled by the closeness between the Three-Eyed Raven and Her Grace, and they were surprised.

Of course, what surprised them even more was the sudden appearance of a young man claiming to be a Targaryen!

According to what they knew, after Aegon VI, supported by the Golden Company, was killed by the Faceless Men at Storm's End, Daenerys Targaryen was the only Targaryen in the world.

But suddenly, without warning, a second Targaryen appeared, a young man not much older than Her Grace.

Daenerys helped Jon Targaryen up, and then she embraced him tightly.

Her worries disappeared. Jon Targaryen was indeed as Bran Stark had told her in her dreams; he had no desire for power and no intention of inheriting the family's rights. He had not come to declare his prince's status; he had come to help her, and he had submitted to her.

"Jon, you are my only family, you are the only relative I have in this world. I am so happy to see you in person. With the help of the Three-Eyed Raven, I have seen you in my dreams more than once. Jon, I am Daenerys, your aunt."

"…Aunt…" Jon embraced Daenerys, his heart surging. The shared bloodline instantly diluted his unfamiliarity and distance from Daenerys. When Daenerys murmured emotionally to him, his familial feelings overflowed.

*

The group walked towards Dragonstone Castle.

On both sides of the road were solemn ranks of Unsullied. They wore black armor, bronze helmets, and carried spears, shields, and short knives. They were uniform, expressionless, and their eyes were fixed.

Past the Unsullied ranks was the huge training ground beneath the castle walls, where Dothraki cavalry were arranged in squares, their curved swords raised in front of them, like a forest of blades. Each rider had one or two bows and several bags of arrows on their backs.

The dense cavalry squares stretched all the way to the castle walls, like a cloud covering the ground.

At the harbor, Jon had already witnessed the orderliness of the warships. After landing, the military might of Daenerys's infantry and cavalry was even more shocking. Such military power of cavalry and infantry was comparable to that of the Clegane's forces.

Speaking of cavalry, the Westerlands, the Vale, and the North no longer had cavalry, or at least they couldn't make up for the lack of cavalry in the short term—there were no warhorses!

If it were just a battle between cavalry and infantry, Jon believed that Daenerys's legion was invincible!

Although the Mountain's Westerlands army was fierce, it was already exhausted!

"Bran, you said there would be very important guests coming; when will they arrive?" Daenerys asked.

"Daenerys, they won't be coming."

"Oh?" Daenerys's expression was surprised.

"I had the Three-Eyed Raven send a message, telling them to go to Braavos."

"Braavos?"

"Yes, Braavos has the Iron Bank. We need to form a strong alliance with the Iron Bank."

"Bran, can you convince them to move the Iron Bank?" Daenerys was both surprised and delighted.

"Yes, with the help of the Iron Bank, we can easily get the help of the Faceless Men in the House of Black and White on the Isle of Gods in Braavos. Speak a name, and death will come!"

Bran's words shocked Daenerys, Jon, Barristan, Jorah Mormont, Ygritte, Grey Worm, Hero, the Bloodriders, and all the followers.

Barristan and Jorah stared at Bran! This legless boy in the wheelchair was a Stark; why was he so powerful, able to help Her Grace unite the Iron Bank and the House of Black and White? How could this be possible?!

Jon was even more shocked; he couldn't believe what he was hearing!

Bran Stark was a Green Seer, able to perceive some opportunities and see fragments of the past and future, but when he persuaded Jon to come and see Daenerys, he hadn't said anything about uniting the Iron Bank and the Faceless Men.

He knew nothing about these plans!

Jon Snow felt uneasy.

The Faceless Men were the top assassins; who did Bran plan to kill by uniting with the Faceless Men?

Jon stopped. As soon as he stopped, Bran's wheelchair stopped. He was pushing Bran's wheelchair. When Bran stopped, Daenerys, overjoyed, immediately became alert and stopped as well.

"Bran, you are uniting the Iron Bank and the Faceless Men; what are you planning? Who are you going to deal with?" Jon asked in a deep voice. His tone was slightly sharp.

Ygritte, Todder, Grenn, Samwell, Pyp, and Hollin also became wary and vigilant. Clearly, Jon didn't know about Bran's plans. Hollin's hand unconsciously rested on his sword hilt.

"Jon, our enemy is the Mountain."

"The Mountain has never been an enemy of the North."

"Jon, you are a Targaryen, you are not a Stark. I need to remind you that the war between the living and the dead is over. A new war has already begun. For the independence and security of the North, we need to obtain the Iron Throne."

Jon Targaryen looked at Bran with disbelief in his eyes. Bran's nose was straight, and his eyes were calm. He met Jon's gaze without any hesitation.

"That's not what you said when you came."

"You can't see the future, but I can. Let's go, Jon."

Jon didn't move forward: "Bran, you are a Stark, and the Mountain has done the Starks a great service."

"I know, Jon. Sansa Stark is still in the Westerlands, in the Mountain's hands, she is a hostage. I am uniting the Iron Bank and the House of Black and White just to intimidate the Mountain. The Mountain has a life-saving grace for the Stark family, and he has also done a great service to the North. But what he is plotting now is no small matter. He not only wants to sit on the Iron Throne, but he is also plotting to establish a Dragon Knight legion. If we don't unite powerful forces to suppress him, Westeros and Essos will be plunged into war. I promise you, I will only suppress the Mountain, not kill him."

"Green Seer, did you see the Mountain establishing a Dragon Knight legion?" Ygritte asked sharply.

"Recently, Daenerys's three little dragons have been in the Mountains of the Moon. Sheep Stealer has become the leader of the three little dragons," Bran said calmly.

Daenerys, Barristan, Jorah, Missandei, and the others exchanged glances.

No wonder their dragons had never returned! Her Grace couldn't summon them back even with the Dragon Horn!

Green Seer?

This female warrior called Bran a Green Seer?

Bran Stark has become a Green Seer?

Barristan and Jorah stared at Bran in disbelief.

The Three-Eyed Raven jumped from Daenerys's shoulder to Bran's head, tilting its head and looking at Jon, its three eyes rolling nimbly.

Bran Stark has become a Green Seer, but why is he so diligently assisting Daenerys Targaryen? It should be noted that the Starks and Targaryens had a blood feud in the previous generation!

What Barristan and Jorah Mormont didn't know was that in this generation, Arya Stark had killed Aegon Targaryen VI. Aegon VI was Jon's half-brother and another nephew of Daenerys.
