#2 - Chapter 2 I'm in a Difficult Situation

Time flew by, and ten days had passed. Liu Yuan was gradually adapting to the life of a baby. In reality, a child's world is very simple, nothing more than eating and sleeping, and sleeping and eating. It's the same even for a transmigrator. There's no way around it. As a third-tier peak transcendent being, even in a weakened state, his soul's strength was not something a newborn infant could handle. He simply couldn't maintain prolonged wakefulness, only managing to stay awake for about an hour each day, in discontinuous bursts of less than five minutes each. This conclusion alone took him a full day to piece together.

He had no idea that he would encounter a void storm, nor how long he had been adrift in the chaos. He could only continuously consume Source Crystals to form a shield, protecting himself from being eroded by the void. Without coordinates, without direction, he could only drift aimlessly.

Just when Liu Yuan was about to run out of resources, he finally found this plane of existence in the void. However, he encountered tremendous resistance when breaking through the plane's crystalline barrier and had no choice but to burn everything he had, including all his Source Crystals, his physical body, and his system. Finally, he broke a crack in the crystalline wall, and his soul merged into this plane, being recognized as a native of this world, with a legitimate identity.

Unfortunately, his soul and will had been scoured by the void and further tempered when merging with the world's crystalline barrier, becoming even stronger. As a result, this physical body simply couldn't bear such a massive consciousness, and he didn't know how to self-seal. Consequently, he turned into a baby who only ate and slept. But in the eyes of the natives, such a child was considered unhealthy. Fortunately, he was currently the illegitimate son of a noble lord. If he had been born into a poor family, he would probably have been thrown away long ago.

After this period of understanding, he learned that this world was a feudal kingdom similar to medieval Europe. They seemed to be living in the lord's castle. Judging from the food his mother and the other women ate, the productivity of this world was limited. The food was still mainly crops similar to wheat and oats on Earth, as well as a tuberous plant that smelled somewhat like potatoes. From the appearance of the other women, they were mostly Caucasian, leaning towards Northern European types. His cheap mother's appearance, however, was closer to Uyghur or similar Central Asian ethnicities, but with fairer skin and a taller figure. It could be seen that the people of this world were diverse, and it was possible that there were East Asian or black people as well.

But one thing he was certain of was that this was definitely not Earth or a parallel world. Because the language these people spoke was a language he had never heard before. He could confirm that it was definitely not a language from Earth. Moreover, through the window, he could see the moon in the sky. He had never seen such a large moon on Earth. And this moon had a ring that emitted a yellow glow.

Oh dear! I've overused my brain again today, and I'm about to fall asleep again. When will these days end! His little head tilted, and he fell sound asleep again. What Liu Yuan didn't know was that his cheap father in this world, Adrian Setigar, known as the 'Red Crab Earl,' had come to the lower level to see him more than once.

Although this child slept often, he was still very cute, looking fair and pleasing, especially with his silver-gold hair and purple eyes. You know, the Setigar family was one of the first families to follow the Dragon King Targaryen, and they were also of pure Valyrian descent, but they never produced a dragon rider. After more than three hundred years, due to the gradual dilution of bloodlines, the family had not seen a descendant with Valyrian characteristics for a very, very long time.

Although Adrian was an Earl, he couldn't go against tradition and could only provide some care to his offspring within his power, and that was limited to this child. In his eyes, the child's mother was just a slave he had captured on the Stepstones, and even under the laws of the Seven Kingdoms, she was just a lowly maid. But he left the child a name: Garron, Garron Waters (illegitimate children born in the Crownlands all have a unified surname: Waters).

Liu Yuan didn't know any of this. He couldn't do anything now and could only analyze information that was beneficial to him during his brief moments of wakefulness. He tried to learn the local language as much as possible from the conversations between his mother and the other women. But the progress was very slow. In those short few minutes, he didn't even hear a few sentences, let alone learn them.

Days passed by like this, and in the blink of an eye⊙_<Liu Yuan was already four months old. He now had about three hours of free time each day. His body didn't seem to have grown much, and he was even a little thin, but his physical strength was about three times that of his peers. He crawled up quickly and could stand while holding onto the wall. What he liked most was to lie by the window and look at the things outside. With more time, he had a certain understanding of the language of this world, but he couldn't speak yet due to this body.

After several months of effort, he finally discovered that it was possible to cultivate in this world. However, due to the fragile body of an infant, he could only cultivate the Qi Induction from the 'Yi Jin Duan Gu Pian'. Even then, he had to be careful, as an infant's fragile meridians and bones could only absorb so little Yuan Qi. Recalling the novels he read in his previous life, the protagonists started cultivating from their mother's womb. He didn't know if they had taken some miraculous pills, but he didn't dare to try. In the beginning, he only took a slightly larger breath of Yuan Qi and almost died from being bloated. It seemed that he had the circumstances of a protagonist, but not the protagonist's life!

Because Liu Yuan was constantly cultivating, strengthening his body little by little, he was able to have more time to be active. But this also had a significant side effect, which was that his body developed more slowly than other children of his age. He had already started eating supplementary food, which was a paste made from rye and potatoes (let's assume they are rye and potatoes! Anyway, the taste is similar.) with a little fish meat added. The taste was, to put it mildly, indescribable. But in order to survive, he had to eat it. Because his mother, that poor woman, was in increasingly poor health and could no longer provide enough milk.

Long hours of work, coupled with malnutrition, and the world's backward medical and sanitary conditions, she may have contracted some disease during childbirth? Her body was visibly weakening day by day, and Liu Yuan was helpless about it. He couldn't even stay awake for long periods of time, and he was so fragile that a rat could take his life. The only thing he could do was to gently stroke the woman's face with his tender little hand, using this way to comfort her.
