#834 - The First Mission and Plastic Man
The Young Justice team had foreseen Conner and Habie's joining, but what was the deal with this unknown Stargirl?
Wally, who knew the inside story, subtly stuck out his tongue. The Flash had always told him to keep the events in Blue Valley a secret, so he hadn't said anything even to his good brother, Dick.
As Batman finished speaking, Stargirl, Courtney Whitmore, walked in from outside the training room, no longer dressed as a small-town girl.
Courtney now wore a blue uniform adorned with star patterns, resembling stars hidden in the night sky. She had red gloves and boots on her hands and feet respectively.
A red belt hung around her waist, looking like the Bat-Family's utility belt. She wore a blue mask that covered half her face, revealing only her mouth and chin.
The Star-Scepter, the source of her power, was being used as a walking stick.
The Metamorpho clone, Habie, also sized up this new girl along with the others. The Stargirl before him was a little different from what he remembered.
The Stargirl in the comics was a symbol of clarity and sexiness, with crop tops and hot pants as her timeless trademarks, making one wonder if this uniform even had higher defense than her casual clothes.
But after all, that was a comic, and the author had to consider how to attract the audience, and beauty was undoubtedly the easiest way.
There was a time when every superhero or supervillain who appeared, as long as they were female, would wear extremely revealing clothes.
It can only be said that it was understandable for the sake of sales.
But reality certainly doesn't need to compromise for comic sales. For example, while Diana wears a Greek-style battle skirt, the length of the skirt is not like the kind in the comics where you have to worry about showing your butt with the slightest movement.
Moreover, as a cohabitant, Yang Le knew very well that Diana wore safety pants under her skirt, so there was no need to worry about exposure.
Stargirl also wore a one-piece uniform, and it was a special bulletproof uniform. Although her figure could still be seen, it was definitely not the kind of uniform in the comics that looked like any profession but a superhero.
By the way, Robin's uniform was not the early comic version that exposed his thighs, but rather resembled the tech-savvy type that Tim wore in Arkham Knight, which should have been upgraded.
Kid Flash, Aqualad, and Miss Martian's uniforms were no different from those in 'Young Justice', as for Speedy... wait, where's Speedy?
The question Habie thought of was obviously also thought of by others. Wally even raised his hand to ask.
"Where's Speedy? Why don't I see him?"
In fact, he had wanted to ask when Batman read out the initial list of members, but he was not as rash as he was a few months ago, and waited patiently until Batman stopped before interjecting.
Hearing Wally's question, the Flash and the other adults looked at each other, but Batman still answered as if he had no emotion.
"Speedy voluntarily left the Justice League two months ago and is no longer under the jurisdiction of the Justice League, so he is not on this list of Young Justice members."
As soon as these words came out, Wally and the others immediately imitated the adults' performance just now, and looked at each other, no one expected that Roy would take the initiative to leave the Justice League.
"Is he okay now?" Wally asked weakly.
"Speedy is now renamed Red Arrow and is active as an independent hero." Batman stopped there, and after a simple answer, he didn't continue to dwell on this issue.
"You can go to the Hall of Justice's database to check the relevant information. With your level, you can also access all the information. Now I want to explain the action guidelines for Young Justice."
Hearing this sentence, even if everyone cared about Roy, they knew that now was not the time, so they had to be patient and finish the meeting first.
Batman briefly explained some precautions next. In short, they should put their own safety first, and once again emphasized that although Young Justice is an organization independent of the Justice League, it is still under the jurisdiction of the Justice League.
This time, Batman and the others were not prepared to completely let them go as if they were free-range. Young Justice's actions must be led by one or more official members of the Justice League, and they would hardly be allowed to participate in high-risk missions.
Once bitten by a snake, ten years afraid of well ropes, Dick and others couldn't help but show a wry smile. Originally, they had a high degree of autonomy in performing tasks, but now it's all gone, but they can't blame others, they can only blame themselves for playing smart before.
"Finally, I want to issue you a task." Batman babbled for a long time, perhaps thirsty, so he took the paper cup that the Flash handed over and took a sip.
"Recently, a new amusement park has been established in Metropolis, and there have been three missing persons incidents in the amusement park recently."
"Doesn't sound like superhero work," Conner said with his arms crossed. "Sounds more like police work."
Batman turned his gaze to Conner, who interrupted him, and silenced Conner with just one sentence.
"Superman doesn't pick work."
Seeing Superboy shut up, Batman continued: "These three missing incidents have almost nothing in common. The missing people don't know each other, and their only two common points are that they all disappeared in the amusement park, and all three returned home on their own three days after they disappeared."
This sentence aroused the spirit of Dick, who had a bit of detective cells. In his opinion, this was the most suitable task for him to show off his skills.
Dick secretly made up his mind that he must complete this task perfectly so that Batman and the others could rest assured, and he would never play smart this time.
"The mission is scheduled to be carried out one day later. At that time, it will be Sunday, and there will definitely be many people in the amusement park. If the suspect has any requirements for choosing a target, a large population base will undoubtedly increase his chances of taking action."
Batman continued to urge: "This time your companion is Plastic Man."
As soon as the words fell, the door of the training room opened again, and a strong man wearing a blue uniform with a large S logo printed on his chest and a red cape walked in.
Everyone was stunned. Wasn't it said that it was Plastic Man? Why did Superman come in?
When Conner saw Superman walk in, he immediately changed his posture. He was no longer the arrogant look he had before. At this time, he looked more like a college student standing at attention.
However, before Conner's military posture could be maintained for too long, Superman's strong body began to deform. After a period of movement like plasticine, the righteous-looking Superman turned into a wretched uncle wearing a high-fork uniform.
"Haha! Hello, kids! I'm your Uncle Plastic Man!"
Conner was stunned.
