#522 - Frank the Red Lantern
In the past, poetry in people's minds often needed to be accompanied by beautiful music and recited with emotion by a reciter, thus poetry recitation was also a manifestation of elegance.
However, the poetry that William now heard was like the threatening roar of an injured beast. Unlike baby soldiers who had only been trained but never been on the battlefield, William had not only been on the battlefield, but had even done a lot of dirty work to clean up messes for those above.
He had killed the old, weak, women, and children, and he had also slaughtered elite soldiers and generals. He had even killed many superhumans, but none of them had given William this feeling.
"Bang!"
Just as William was hesitating whether to retreat, a large hole suddenly appeared in the wall to his right, and an arm wearing a red glove stretched out from it and grabbed the hesitant William.
William was startled at first, but his rich combat experience allowed him to suppress the fear in his heart. He used his free left hand to pull out the dagger from his waist and stabbed it at the arm that was grabbing him.
"Clang!"
William looked in disbelief at the arm grabbing him, which didn't even have a scratch on it. Instead, his own hand felt numb from the force, and he almost dropped the dagger.
Before he could think of a solution, William felt the arm grabbing him begin to exert force. This 85-kilogram strong man was now like a chick in the other party's hands, and his feet even left the ground.
William watched helplessly as he was dragged towards the wall. After a loud bang, William was pulled through to the other side of the wall. Dazed and confused, William thought to himself that he was lucky this was a wooden structure, otherwise he might have been dead.
Opening his eyes in a daze, William finally saw the enemy who had made him so embarrassed, and this sight made his face change drastically.
William's target was the families of the test subjects, so he had information on all the test subjects. Therefore, he naturally recognized the person in front of him: Frank Castle.
In William's impression, Frank should be rampaging in New York City like other test subjects, waiting for a "Little Boy" to solve the problem. He never expected that the other party would appear here.
Moreover, the Frank in front of him looked different from both versions in his memory, looking neither like a normal person nor like a green-skinned giant.
At this time, Frank was glowing red, wearing a tight-fitting suit composed of red and black colors. In the center of his chest was a circular pattern with a black background and a hundred changes. In the middle of the pattern was a small circle with a consistent appearance, and on both sides of the small circle were two white stripes like bull horns.
Frank stared at William in his hand with eyes that had no pupils, making the latter suffer a lot. Frank opened his mouth, revealing a mouthful of sharp teeth like shark teeth.
"Who are you!"
Frank's voice was rising, and he could be said to be roaring the last word. Seeing that mouthful of sharp teeth, William would not doubt that he wanted to eat him.
But this open bloody mouth also gave William a chance. He quickly raised his right hand holding the gun and slammed it into Frank's mouth, then desperately pulled the trigger.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The shooting sound was continuous, and William did not hesitate to empty the bullets in his gun. In his understanding, those things with thick skin and flesh on the outside were generally very fragile on the inside, so this sneak attack, even if it didn't kill the other party, could at least seriously injure him and then let go.
Only by regaining freedom could William have more opportunities to escape, or even solve the other party. You ask him why he is so confident? Because he hid an RPG in his car, specifically for dealing with superhumans.
But what he saw and heard today exceeded William's expectations. Frank not only did not let go, but even actively bit the hot barrel of the gun after he emptied the magazine.
"Crack!"
William swore that this was the first time he had heard a sound similar to chewing a wafer on a gun barrel. Frank bit off the barrel of his Glock like he was eating a biscuit.
"Crunch, crunch."
Accompanied by a burst of chewing, Frank grinned, and a large amount of melted iron flowed out of his mouth, making William frightened.
"Pah!"
Frank left a small portion of the molten iron and spat it on William's face like phlegm. The poor William screamed instantly, but no matter how hard he struggled, he could not escape Frank's palm.
"I'm asking you one last time!" Frank roared. "Who! Are! You!"
"I'll talk! Ah! I'll talk!" William was frightened out of his wits. Fortunately, there was not much molten iron, otherwise his face would likely have been burned with a big hole, but even so, a terrifying burn scar remained on his face, extending from his cheekbone to his chin.
"My name is William Rollins, I used to serve in the Green Berets, and now I am a reservist in the military's secret unit, the Thunderbolts. My main task is to help deal with some shady tasks that don't require the Thunderbolts to take action."
"You! Killed my family!" Frank's anger turned into substance, and the red light ring on his hand shone brightly under such abundant emotional energy.
"It was all the military's orders!" William hurriedly explained, fearing that Frank would swallow him alive a second later. "I'm just a knife, who I kill is not up to me! If I don't obey orders, I'll be the one who dies! I have no choice!"
"Who!" Frank threw William onto the dining table beside him. Under the huge force, the wooden dining table immediately fell apart. Before the dazed William could recover, Frank stepped on his chest again.
"Who is the real culprit behind the scenes!"
"It's ~ uh, General... Ross!"
Frank's foot on William's chest was like a hydraulic press, slowly and continuously testing the pressure. William, who was just an ordinary person, naturally couldn't bear it, and even speaking was very difficult, but in order to save his life, he still tried his best to say the answer.
"The specific...insider information...I don't...know either, but...all of this must...be inseparable from him!"
"Why?" Frank asked, while relaxing the force on his foot.
"Huff ~ Because the Thunderbolts are General Ross's direct unit, no one but him can order us." William breathed a sigh of relief. He felt that he had survived for the time being, and to live longer, he needed to show more of his value.
"You can take me to confront him. I have left a pile of information from helping them for so many years. I can help you expose him in front of the whole world."
Faced with William's show of loyalty, Frank just opened his bloody mouth, and a scarlet, blood-like, viscous flame spewed out of his mouth, instantly engulfing William.
