#337 - Illuminati
"Quick! Catch him!"
The Doctor didn't bother arguing with Superboy. Instead, he ordered Guardian and the other Genomorphs to capture him. He had decided that once they caught Superboy, he would give him a thorough brainwashing. Today's experience had exhausted all his patience with Superboy.
Guardian waved his hand, and all the razor Genomorphs in the room immediately pounced on Superboy. Even he himself followed behind the Genomorphs, charging forward.
"Come and try if you dare!"
Superboy showed no fear, bracing himself to meet all the enemies head-on. He stood like a one-man fortress, attracting everyone's attention.
Yang Le, who had been invisible and waiting for the right moment, knew it was time for him to act. He bypassed everyone, crawling across the ceiling to the device imprisoning the young heroes.
With a few light taps on the console, the cloning machine stopped working, and Robin and the others ceased their screaming.
"Su-support arrived?" Wally weakly raised his head, only to see an empty console. It wasn't until Yang Le revealed himself that he understood what had happened.
"It's here." Yang Le pressed a few more buttons, and the restraints inside the cloning pods opened, causing them to fall out.
Although they had been tortured for several minutes, they were all skilled individuals. After escaping the pods, they acted as if nothing had happened. One somersaulted, another performed a graceful landing, all landing steadily.
"Let's go quickly." Yang Le stared at the cool poses with black lines on his forehead. "If we alarm the big shots upstairs, we won't be able to escape Cadmus Labs."
"Big shots?" Wally wanted to ask more, but Robin stopped him.
"Let's go, Kid Flash. This isn't a good place to chat." Robin looked ahead, where there was a scene of devastation, with only Superboy standing while all the Genomorphs and Guardian were knocked to the ground.
"Follow me, I'll explain the rest on the way." Yang Le took the lead, rushing out first, with the others following behind.
Robin, having run out a few steps, suddenly seemed to remember something. He drew a few batarangs and threw them back, targeting the cloning pods that had held them captive.
After the batarangs stuck to the cloning pods, the bat symbol in the center flashed red. A few seconds later, there was a loud explosion, shattering the cloning pods into pieces. With such an explosion, no one's DNA could possibly be preserved.
"Hehe." Leaving behind a magical laugh, Robin caught up with the others, escaping from the place.
It must be said that Robin, trained by Batman, was more meticulous in his actions than the others. But even if he hadn't destroyed the DNA, Yang Le had already told the White Genomorph to help resolve it.
Led by Yang Le, they quickly arrived at the elevator. With the White Genomorph's arrangement, they successfully boarded the elevator.
'Mr. Yang Le.' Aqualad contacted Yang Le as soon as they were safe. 'We have escaped and are heading to the surface.'
'Roger that.' Old Man Yang was still seeing patients. 'I'm almost done here too. Maybe we'll run into each other on the way. Even if we don't, it's okay. You don't have to wait for me, continue to retreat. I'll find a way to escape.'
'Roger that.'
After ending the report, Aqualad turned his gaze to Yang Le and Superboy.
"Now we can talk," Robin said, crossing his arms and leaning against the elevator wall. All the commotion today had exhausted him, a mere mortal. Taking a break when possible was a required course for superheroes.
"Let me speak," Yang Le volunteered. "Superboy doesn't know anything. He's been in suspended animation all along, and the lab wouldn't have transmitted this knowledge to him."
Everyone's attention immediately focused on Yang Le, including Superboy.
"As you can see, Cadmus Labs is a research institute that develops biological weapons, and its greatest masterpiece is Superboy," Yang Le said, gesturing towards Superboy behind him.
"We know all that," Kid Flash frowned. "Tell us something we don't know."
Faced with Kid Flash's urging, before Yang Le could say anything, Superboy couldn't help but speak first.
"If you don't want to listen, you can get out," Superboy said, taking two steps forward and staring down at Kid Flash. "Listen quietly if you want to hear, or I can help you quiet down."
Kid Flash clenched his fists. His bow had already been destroyed by Superboy. In terms of hand-to-hand combat, even if Kid Flash was confident, he wouldn't think he could beat a Kryptonian, even if he was just a clone.
Aqualad, the only one who could compete with Superboy, stepped forward. He walked between the two, separating them, and said at the same time.
"We haven't escaped the enemy's encirclement yet. Arguing now is the most unwise choice. For the sake of fighting together just now, let's all say a few less words."
Superboy glanced at Aqualad. Through his voice, he could tell that this was the person who had advised him earlier. Considering that the other party's words had awakened him, Superboy was happy to give him face.

"Then I'll continue," Yang Le said again when he saw everyone was silent. It had to be said that it felt really good to have someone backing him up.
"You know the true face of Cadmus Labs, but what you don't know is that Cadmus Labs is just one of many research institutes."
Aqualad's pupils shrank and asked, "What do you mean?"
"It means what it says," Yang Le said expressionlessly. "I overheard the Doctor's contact with others and learned that Cadmus Labs is just an insignificant little project in the eyes of those big shots above. They not only have many similar laboratories under their command, but they are also plotting a huge conspiracy."
"Who are those people? What is their conspiracy?" Robin pressed.
"I don't know what their conspiracy is," Yang Le said. Actually, it wasn't that he didn't know, but rather that Yang Le had forgotten.
"I only know their name, they call themselves the Illuminati."
The Illuminati, an unfamiliar term. Even Robin frowned. He couldn't find this term in the Batcomputer. It seemed to be either a new organization or a particularly well-hidden one.
If it was the former, it would be fine, but if it was the latter, then the other party's power would be very terrifying. After all, even the Justice League had never discovered this organization.
Robin couldn't help but swallow. Faced with this level of secret, even he couldn't help but feel nervous. He had a feeling that this Young Justice League mission might not be smaller than blocking out the sun.
