Stupid Odin

#53 - Curse from a distance

Too exaggerated!

A moment ago, the entire Aesir expeditionary force, whether the lofty gods or the mortals following behind, were like a group of rats struggling in a ditch, about to be drowned at any moment.

The next second, the whole situation changed.

This ocean world seemed to be torn apart in an instant, and a massive amount of azure seawater was rapidly pouring down from all directions as if a dam had burst.

When that disgusting blue color completely faded away—it was a sky full of falling raindrops, and the faces of the Vanaheim gods in the Sea God Temple opposite, filled with anger or complex expressions.

The despairing scene disappeared, and the normal seascape returned to their view.

In the sky above, the supreme god-king Thanos, who commanded them, transformed into a semi-transparent illusion 10 kilometers high, overlooking them with profound eyes.

Time stood still!

… …

Njord's eyes bulged out, covered with bloodshot veins, filled with madness.

In his eyes, the scene in the sky was even more terrifying. The fine threads of the ocean law, which he had painstakingly woven for many months, were originally crisscrossed, forming a giant net covering the sea and sky around the Sea God Temple.

It was such a net that was easily shattered by that damned god-king Thanos. At this moment, every piece of law fragment floating in the void was a crystallization of divine power that he had painstakingly condensed for many days.

Unexpectedly…

It was broken so easily!

This difference in the total amount of divine power and the level of understanding of the law was what made Njord the most angry.

All his plans and calculations were destroyed like this, watching helplessly as dazzling rainbows flashed across the bodies of these embarrassed enemies in the Sea God Temple. When the rainbows made their figures bright, they would merge into the rainbow, cross a hundred kilometers of high altitude, and return to their safe upper divine realm.

This feeling of failing at the last moment was too disgusting.

However, Njord didn't dare to take half a step out of the Sea God Temple. He didn't know whether the divine punishment from Thanos would fall on his head in the next second.

His angry fists were clenched so tightly that even his nails pierced through his palms, and drops of divine blood dripped from between his fingers. Njord bit his lip and stared at the huge illusion in the sky.

That hateful gaze was so cold that even his deep black pupils didn't contain Njord's existence at all.

Thanos's loftiness, Thanos's awe-inspiring power, Thanos's certainty of victory, everything about Thanos made Njord feel angry, almost to the point of madness.

"Thanos *Paulson! Do you think this is the end? Do you think you can really conquer the Vanaheim gods? No! Absolutely not—" Njord's voice changed because of extreme anger: "You idiot! In order to save your stupid brother, you actually invested so much of the origin of [Midgard]! Hahaha! I will gladly accept it! In the future, I will use this power to tear down your lair, Asgard!"

Thanos did not respond directly.

At this moment, Thor, who had survived the disaster and returned to Asgard, was shocked to hear this.

"Father! You paid the origin of [Midgard] in order to save us?" His wide eyes were filled with disbelief and deep guilt.

When the gods heard this, their eyes looking at Odin became even more displeased.

This price was too high!

Thanos withdrew his gaze overlooking the lower realm, glanced back at those drenched chickens, and said lightly: "Not much! Only 30%."

To make matters worse, Loki actually interjected: "Will that Njord use this power to re-cultivate sea king-level behemoths and refine them into substitutes?"

Loki was indeed smart, but it must also be admitted that he was a professional in offending people, and it was a map cannon that did not distinguish between enemies and friends.

Odin almost couldn't catch his breath. He had the heart to pull out Loki's tongue and nail it to the ground with [Gungnir].

Who knew that Thanos's words were still relaxed: "If Njord has time…"

Potential is potential.

It takes time to convert potential into combat power.

Obviously, Thanos would not give Njord this time.

Njord below was still spitting venomous tongues and cursing Thanos madly.

Thanos calmly pulled Freya over, put her in his arms, and the 10-kilometer projection illusion in the sky faithfully reflected this scene.

When Njord and the Vanaheim gods below saw Freya, they suddenly fell silent collectively.

Embarrassment, shyness, unease, shame, and also seeming to want to express their loyalty to the Aesir, on Freya's pure and lustful face, it seemed that every facial muscle wanted to express a different idea, which made her expression very strange.

Precisely, this is the most real Freya.

Thanos publicly shouted in front of the two great divine races, and the thunderous voice reached the lower realm, shaking the Sea God Temple so much that dust and debris kept falling.

"Njord, for the sake of your daughter serving me so diligently, I will give you a chance—join the Aesir, and you can have a position second only to Odin."

Njord was stunned for a second, then laughed in anger: "Hahahaha! Thanos *Paulson! Do you really think of yourself as the supreme god-king of the Ginnungagap world? Let me tell you! Just relying on Vanaheim and this part of Midgard's life force, I can guard this place until the end of the world—"

Njord's shouting in the air made the faces of the Aesir gods change collectively.

This guy is simply a tough nut to crack, too disgusting.

But forcibly attacking, I don't know how much it will cost.

The Aesir gods and giants cursed loudly.

"Njord, if you have the guts, get out of your doghouse!"

"Bah! You're embarrassed to be the Vanaheim God-King?"

… …

If they could scold Njord out, they would have succeeded in the past three months.

Unfortunately, for an old tortoise, scolding is the most meaningless thing.

Over here, no matter what, Odin was really discouraged.

He walked over in a disheveled manner and bowed deeply to Thanos: "The sinner Odin has failed His Majesty's trust! I only hope that when His Majesty breaks through the Sea God Temple, he will allow the sinner to kill Njord and vent this anger!"

The moment he finished speaking, he could feel the resentful gazes cast from all directions.

This battle greatly reduced his prestige among the gods and giants.

If it hadn't been for his elder brother rescuing them at the last moment, and several gods or giants had really died, Odin would never have wanted to mess around in Asgard in the future.

In fact, he had already seen his ending—unless his elder brother couldn't gnaw on this old tortoise either, otherwise he was destined to roll back to the icy and snowy Jotunheim and fight against the hostile frost giants for a hundred years.

Having gotten used to the sunny Asgard, Odin really didn't want to go to such a godforsaken place.

This is the result of high-stakes gambling!

Winning means ascending to the throne of the God-King!

Losing means rolling back home to watch the gate!

He was angry! He was unwilling! He cursed! But he had to accept this result!

Even at this moment, there was actually a lot of malice rising in his heart—could it be that his elder brother Thanos couldn't take down Njord either?

Although he also felt that it was impossible for his elder brother not to be able to do it, he harbored such a dark thought…
