Stupid Odin

#29 - Frigga's Arrival

The birth of the ten divine weapons caused heated discussions throughout Asgard and even among the races that submitted to the rule of the Aesir.

Especially when people discovered that Thors mostly only wore the [Sword of Asgard], at most having the two divine swords of ice and fire accompanying him like guards, people began to discuss whether they would one day gain the recognition of the God-King and be granted a divine sword as a symbol of ruling a realm.

However, just after the news of the Nine Realms was released, Thors announced the implementation of the [Rune Script].

This was an improved version of the script based on the rune symbols, intended for mortals to use for recording information.

On Earth, the Rune Script had long been severed from its heritage, existing only in the documents of philologists.

In Jötunheimr, this was the first script, and although it was a bit awkward and difficult to learn, it perfectly matched the language of the Aesir.

The emergence of writing meant that mortals had broken away from their primitive way of life and could begin teaching and spreading knowledge.

This matter was originally just something Thors did casually. If he could, he wouldn't even mind creating pinyin and Chinese for this world, but with the Vanir not appearing, Thors preferred to temporarily rely on the inertia of fate to first trick this biggest enemy.

Time passed day by day, and the super-giant Auðumbla licked a large hole in the glacier.

Actually, it wasn't that she licked so much, but rather because it was a long and narrow ice cave that extended hundreds of meters inside, made up of a cyan-blue ice surface. Discovering that licking it didn't seem to get her anything, the cow left.

The annual spring brought warm sunshine, and the sunlight shone into the ice cave, causing refraction and reflection, making the entire cave look magnificent.

Inside, the beautiful female ice sculptures began to melt.

More Aesir goddesses awakened from their frozen slumber. Guided by some unseen force, these goddesses arrived at the Rainbow Bridge in Asgard and saw their fellow archer god, Ullr.

Ullr instinctively swallowed his saliva, but quickly adjusted his mindset: "Greetings, beautiful goddesses! The current Aesir are ruled by our fellow kinsman, Thors Thorson, the son of Bor, as the God-King."

The most beautiful of these goddesses had a head of brilliant golden flowing hair, an elegant demeanor, and a gorgeous appearance. She was like a dazzling golden light, making even the Rainbow Bridge pale in comparison beneath her feet.

"Dear kinsman, we have no objections to joining the god-realm of our people. We just want to ask, what do you think of this new God-King? Can he protect us?"

Ullr very well set his own mentality straight and said solemnly: "There is no need to doubt the strength of His Majesty Thors. His martial achievements are visible to the naked eye—"

He gently raised a hand and pointed to the side. At the end of the Rainbow Bridge, on both sides of that metal fortress, four giant eyes were very well deterring every guest.

The goddesses were not surprised but delighted, and earnestly nodded to express their approval.

The beautiful goddess who led the group asked again: "When paying respects to His Majesty the God-King, is there anything else we need to pay attention to?"

Ullr considered for a few seconds and gave a slightly selfish suggestion: "This is purely my own opinion… Although His Majesty already has several powerful children, they are sons of a giantess, and the position of God-Queen is still vacant! No, it should be said that Asgard doesn't even have a goddess."

This suggestion was practically a blatant hint.

Ullr did not like the giant bloodline in the bodies of the current god-sons. Especially Thor, this eldest prince, even though he was powerful, his inherent crudeness made Ullr dislike him. He felt that this was due to the dominant giantess bloodline.

The prosperity and cleanliness of Asgard surprised the goddesses who had come all the way.

Passing through the Rainbow Bridge, the streets along the way were wide and bright. In particular, the [Sacred Road], which served as the main thoroughfare, impressed the goddesses deeply.

The widest road in the middle was two-way, with the Aesir and giants proceeding according to the huge arrows, allowing four giants with a height of 20 meters to walk side by side without hindrance.

On both sides of the avenue were beast paths, where one could see dwarves, elves, and other races riding different kinds of mounts shuttling back and forth.

On the outermost sides were the sidewalks, where various 'short' mortal races walked.

Everywhere they went, the mortals respectfully saluted them.

The goddesses noticed that there were piles of manure pulled by horses on the beast paths, but soon winged light elves would fly over and clean it up with shovels and brooms.

On the exterior walls of the buildings on both sides of the avenue, one could also occasionally see light elves flying past, cleaning the outer walls.

This gave the entire city a clean and sacred feeling.

Walking along the avenue to the side of a mountain, one could look up and see that magnificent golden palace.

The guiding light elf said: "This is the [Golden Palace] where His Majesty God-King Thors Thorson holds meetings with the gods and receives new gods!"

Looking at this broad and magnificent temple, the leading goddess silently encouraged herself: I want to become the mistress of this great hall.

The heavy and dignified gate was pushed open by the human guards in golden helmets and armor.

A sacred and solemn music then poured out of the hall. After the master of ceremonies chanted their names, the goddesses strode proudly onto the red carpet, entered the hall, and received the God-King's audience.

Sure enough, His Majesty the God-King was extraordinarily valiant, handsome, and heroic.

Every goddess was in high spirits and excitedly introduced themselves.

Thors formally accepted the goddesses' praise and blessings, then offered them seats, saying: "You have come from afar, thank you for your hard work. Let the master of ceremonies lead you down to rest first. Tonight, I will hold a grand banquet to welcome you all."

After dismissing the goddesses, Thors saw his excited parents beside him, as well as Odin, who was restless.

His parents were excited because Thors had said that he would either not marry, or he would marry a beautiful goddess worthy of his position as God-Queen.

Bor stammered and dared not speak, but Bestla didn't care so much: "Thors, I feel that the one named Frigga is very good!"

Upon hearing this, Odin's face immediately collapsed.

His elder brother was strong, and he had always been convinced. From childhood to adulthood, the strongest took the best things, and this was the natural order of things. Odin had nothing to say, but this time, Odin was really moved. But he held back and dared not say it!

Priority selection was the prerogative of the God-King!

Thors glanced at Odin as if sensing something, and secretly laughed in his heart.

In fact, Thors could have let Odin become the cuckold, and even after he touched her, Odin wouldn't dare to say a fart.

But ah, which proper god would marry you?

Frigga was the goddess of family and marriage. In theory, touching her meant you had to marry her, but who told Thors to be the God-King?

What's the point of being a God-King if you can't do whatever you want?

After all, the style of the Aesir from top to bottom was—never waste a giantess, never miss a good goddess.

Thors didn't look at the pitiful Odin and directly fooled his mother: "I don't like this kind of delicate goddess too much. She's too fragile. I'm afraid I'll accidentally beat her to death if I roll over while sleeping."

Such an outrageous reason actually fooled Bestla: "That's true, the goddesses of you Aesir are too fragile. Not as good as us giantesses!"

Thors' words highlighted an extreme tug-of-war, making Odin's little heart rise and fall, just not knowing what his elder brother intended to do.

Then… should he touch Frigga or not?
