Stupid Odin

#221 - Chicken-eating contest in the divine world?

Logically speaking, Thorns shouldn't be this anxious.

[Fate] vaguely reminded him that something must be wrong with this chaotic world.

Everything seemed to be fast-forwarded.

Especially after he learned from [God of Irrigation] Enki that the three destructions of mankind in the Sumerian world actually occurred within three centuries, this feeling became even more pronounced.

The Sumerian world had a strong human reproductive capacity, and the initial version of humans created by Enki, like the Anunnaki gods, would not die of old age. This bug created during the creation of humans led to a population explosion, which in turn 'disturbed' the dead ghost god King Enlil, leading to the god-king's 'purification plan' to destroy humanity.

On average, humans reproduced for six or seven generations before being purified by Enlil.

This frequency of world destruction doesn't match the inherently long mythology.

Even on Earth, the slave society represented by ancient Greece and ancient Rome lasted for nearly 4000 years.

Yet this vast pantheon has not exceeded five hundred years from its birth to the present.

Something is very wrong!

Most crucially, what puzzled Thorns was the encounter between the two worlds in the chaotic world.

This is the chaotic universe where it's impossible to casually observe the outside world.

In the universe, what is the distance between two celestial bodies?

Distances are often measured in units of [tens of thousands of kilometers]!

Even the Moon, which is a satellite of Earth, is nearly 400,000 kilometers away. The average distance between Earth and Mars is over 200 million kilometers.

How could two worlds so easily come together?

To say that the worlds of Jötunheimr and the Celtic Otherworld have no fixed orbits? That's even more unreasonable. In the vast universe, these two giant worlds of the same level could collide?

This level of absurdity is no less than Mars suddenly derailing and crashing into Earth.

For some reason, Thorns thought of a very classic 'battle royale' game.

This is a very cruel selection process, where an invisible hand constantly shrinks the area of activity, forcing each 'player' to move towards the central area, constantly collecting supplies in the process, and eliminating opponents to determine the final victor.

"What is this? A multi-pantheon elimination tournament?" Thorns mocked himself: "I hope I'm not overthinking things..."

This idea is a bit absurd, but considering that the world led by the Aesir has already swallowed and eliminated two large pantheons, Thorns had to consider this increasingly likely possibility.

"The worst-case scenario is facing the siege of several pantheons, including the Greek pantheon, all at once."

Based on these considerations, Thorns came to the core of the World Tree again. He and Odin obtained the sapling of the World Tree here, forging the [Nine Realms Sword] and [Gungnir].

At the core, the seemingly unchanging chaotic aura has now been greatly altered.

The World Tree still draws chaotic power from the chaotic void through its roots, but without the chaos of the past.

The chaotic aura still exists, but it has become much thinner.

It's not that the absorption capacity has decreased, but that the world's will has listened to his suggestion and performed multiple filtrations of the chaotic power.

The outermost layer uses the [Luludanitu] rock layer recovered from the Sumerian world. The rock layer transformed from the sky god Anu can perform the initial physical filtration of the chaotic power, and those solidified chaotic energy particles will be screened out first.

Immediately following, the second layer of chaotic aura will be injected into a vast sea area exceeding ten thousand square kilometers. The world's will can easily know the effect of this filter based on the color of the seawater. Once the seawater becomes too turbid, the World Tree's roots will stop drawing chaotic power from it.

The chaotic seawater will be temporarily set aside, re-precipitated, and then the high-concentration chaotic power crystals in the lower layer will be discharged outside the world barrier, and finally filtered a second time by the World Tree's root hairs. The clean water will be re-rotated onto the 'filter'.

The third layer is the final purification using the World Tree's main roots, converting the chaotic power into the world's required world origin.

Compared to directly filtering and transforming with roots in the past, this method is much safer.

At least Thorns doesn't have to worry about a second chaotic war breaking out inside the world.

Arriving in front of the roots, the World Tree's will took the initiative to communicate with Thorns: [The roots you want are ready.]

The slender roots, as flexible as octopus tentacles, peeled away layer by layer, revealing a small section of root suitable for Thorns' palm size.

Gently picking up this section of root, it automatically separated from the mother body.

As soon as he picked it up, Thorns felt a violent howling wind echoing in his ears.

"Oh, very Enlil-esque, isn't it?"

In that instant, Thorns entered a visionary state.

He truly experienced the power of the dignified Sumerian god-king Enlil in his prime.

It was a storm!

A world-destroying storm!

Even the aftershock from the corner of that towering tornado could uproot every towering tree in the endless forest.

Sweep away rivers and lakes!

Crush mountains!

Wherever the storm went, the earth was completely reshaped.

Mountains turned into plains, and plains turned into ravines.

The coastline completely shifted, and the monsoon turned accordingly.

No exaggeration, Enlil in his prime was truly top-notch in strength.

If Thorns hadn't dismantled half of the Sumerian world, lured Enlil in, and then abused this guy with the sea and sky elements of the entire Jötunheimr world, he really wouldn't have been able to take down Enlil.

"Huff! But now, you belong to me."

When Thorns held the sword hilt made from that section of World Tree sapling, a 'wind sword' gradually took shape in his hand.

The silver sword guard was carved with classic cuneiform characters. The patterns they formed represented the Sumerian storm.

The tsuba at the sword's mouth was a relief of Enlil, allowing the metal blade to extend from that roaring mouth.

The sword blade was covered with cloud patterns, like the unceasing storm.

According to Thorns' will, when the blade extended to the middle section, it resembled a fork, splitting into two at the top. And the two sword tips, seemingly sharp, were not actually used to stab opponents to death.

Only Thorns himself knew what this fork meant.

It was not a traditional sword used for stabbing. You have to know that in the elemental realm, [wind] and [lightning] are inseparable. This is actually... someone's divine railgun.

"As expected! Truth only exists within the range of artillery!"

Thorns was very satisfied.

In a sense, this divine sword cast from Enlil's soul was more powerful than any [Sword of the Ten Realms]. After all, the Sumerian world was originally truly large, and Enlil, as a god-king, was far more powerful than Odin in this life.

Thorns, who was in a great mood, suddenly couldn't hold back when he returned to the Silver Palace.

In the opposite half-air, ripples of light and shadow rippled, and weapons emitting extraordinary brilliance were extending from the subspace like water waves.

He heard Ishtar's furious roar before he even entered the palace gate: "You brat, you're rebelling!"
