Stupid Odin
#22 - You won't even call me Your Majesty.
The giant cow Audhumbla licked the enormous ice block day after day, year after year.
It was so unique that it was hard to say it truly existed in this world.
It was like a projection of another dimension into this world, and no attack from this world could destroy it, yet you could touch it.
The glacier it constantly licked was much the same.
Tang Si secretly tried to destroy this glacier, but he failed.
This glacier was also a special existence in the cracks of space, and it was indestructible.
The combination of the cow and the glacier was like a time capsule that would open at regular intervals, and no one but Tang Si knew what would come out of it.
The first thing it licked out was Ymir, and the second was Buri, the first generation of the Aesir gods.
What would be the third?
Even Tang Si wasn't too clear about the specific order of appearance, or what would come out.
There was no way around it; the content recorded in the prose "Edda" and the epic "Edda" actually conflicted, and there were elements of artistic license or tampering by non-believers.
For example, in one version, there were three war gods in Norse mythology—Thor, Odin, and Tyr—and the three of them were not even father and son, and Thor was the main god.
This time, it was a bit of a shock; the cow licked out more than a dozen frost giants.
The giantess Gridr, who was assigned to monitor the cow Audhumbla, quickly reported this to Tang Si, who sent Odin and Loki as a team, hoping they could be persuaded.
Unsurprisingly, the frost giants went crazy, wanting to launch a glorious revenge against the Aesir gods who had killed their ancestor Ymir, and then they died gloriously.
Thanks to Tang Si's quick action in having Odin kill the giant couple who had fled to Jotunheim, there were no giants here who opposed the Aesir gods.
But the cow's continuous licking out of new things was a sign of impending storm.
It would open a box from time to time, and no one knew if it was a surprise box or a fright box.
The giant cow, like a single-celled organism, continued to lick the ice block.
One day, after a layer of ice fell off, a giant humanoid figure gradually became clear.
When the cow's thick tongue licked to a certain extent, a beam of white-gold light suddenly lit up on the rectangular platform where the humanoid figure was lying, extending forward along the mysterious marks under the ice surface, and soon lit up the entire platform, emitting a milky white, soft glow.
The ice block lit up, and with a crackling sound of ice breaking, the ice on the surface of the humanoid figure fell off easily, like clumps of granulated sugar.
Audhumbla seemed to immediately lose interest in this ice man, and her thick tongue turned to licking other places.
A five-meter-tall red-haired man suddenly jumped up, the frost and snow on his body scattering like falling leaves, revealing a fair-skinned and athletic body.
He opened his eyes, his pupils as sharp as an eagle, and wisps of breeze flew from his chiseled face, causing his fiery red, chin-length hair to flutter without wind.
Stretching his thick, bull-like neck, he immediately reached into the ice layer with one hand, grabbed a longbow made of unknown wood, and drew an arrow, aiming it at the giantess sitting on the distant ice mountain and watching him.
Alert! Intimidation!
He was a little surprised that this exaggeratedly sized giantess did not attack him but instead threw out a very standard Aesir language greeting: "Aesir?"
"You are…" The god-like man gently relaxed the bowstring.
"By order of the Aesir King Tang Si Paulsen, I am guarding this place."
"Tang Si? Paulsen?" The unfamiliar name and surname made the man's face show doubt, but the title of "Aesir King" made him lower his hand and retract his arrow: "Where can I see him?"
The giantess pointed to the bright and colorful rainbow not far away: "Go up the Rainbow Bridge, and you will find the answer!"
"Okay!"
Revived from suspended animation, he had too many questions.
However, in this unfamiliar environment, a nation created by compatriots was undoubtedly the best news.
The scenery of this world made him feel novel, especially after stepping on the Rainbow Bridge, the violent acceleration almost made him lose his composure.
The surrounding scenery flickered like streamers, and in a moment of distraction, he was already at the end of the Rainbow Bridge in Asgard.
He was startled.
As soon as he came up, he saw four huge, ferocious, and bloodshot eyeballs.
Two red and two white; it was obvious that these two pairs of eyes belonged to two giants of very exaggerated size.
Fortunately, they only had eyeballs left.
He had no doubt that as long as the Rainbow Bridge guardian in front of him had a thought, those four terrifying eyeballs would shoot out an unstoppable energy, wiping him from the world.
Seeing a burly and handsome Aesir god, wearing a gorgeous golden chainmail and holding a huge battle axe, blocking the middle of the rainbow bridge, he began to introduce himself: "I am Yule!"
The other party was a little dull—no, it should be vigilant—and only replied after a full three seconds: "My name is Willie Paulsen!"
Another Paulsen?
However, this Aesir's bloodline seemed impure? His hair color was the most obvious feature.
Yule had as many questions as the stars, but before he could continue to ask more questions, Willie stepped aside and pointed towards Valhalla.
Yule understood what the other party meant: "Thank you!"
As the two passed by, Yule thought to himself: What a dutiful guardian!
He did not know that the previous exchange had almost exhausted Willie's brainpower.
The only thing Willie remembered was his brother's instructions—if the other party cut him, then use the four big eyeballs to stare the other party to death; if the other party did not attack, no matter what the other party said, just point to Valhalla.
Yule passed through the Rainbow Bridge and officially set foot on the land of Valhalla, suddenly feeling a sense of being in another world.
He saw the fat and short dwarves, the elves with wings of light fluttering in the air behind them, and many humans who looked very similar to the Aesir but were less than two meters tall.
The houses around the avenue were also mainly longhouses that he was very familiar with.
People were surprised by Yule's arrival but bowed to Yule one after another.
Yule could not help but feel a burst of pride in his heart: This is… our Aesir city!
Before he had walked a few steps, a team of human golden-armored guards came to greet him and sent him to Valhalla.
There, he saw the God-King Tang Si and many other compatriots such as Paul.
Of all the gods and giants, the only one Yule liked was Paul, because only Paul was a pure-blooded god.
After a brief introduction to each other, Yule suppressed his temper, performed a god's left-chest fist salute, and he saluted Paul: "Yule greets my compatriot."
Yule?
Who?!
Tang Si frowned slightly; the other party was obviously a very unpopular god.
Not to mention that he had never heard of him in any mainstream movies, TV shows, or other media before his transmigration, he was absolutely certain that the other party had not participated in the "Twilight of the Gods" battle.
That is to say, this was an unlucky ghost who most likely died in the battle with the Vanir.
Heh heh! You don't even want to call me Your Majesty.
