Stupid Odin

#164 - What is the [God of Destiny]?

Lugh, the new leader of the Tuatha Dé Danann, knew he didn't have much choice, so he readily agreed, "Alright! And if I win?"

Odin chuckled, "You are already utterly exhausted. My people can crush you at any moment and then launch a most brutal hunt across the entire island. But I respect heroes. If you defeat me, I will withdraw the giant army and not set foot on the Emerald Isle for a year."

This was not an equal duel.

Lugh, and indeed the gods of the Tuatha Dé Danann, had no choice!

The gods of the Tuatha Dé Danann, their faces ashen, watched their new leader approach the tall, traitorous god-servant, now the leader of the giants, Odin.

They had to trust Lugh. After a day of continuous fighting, almost all the mages were mentally exhausted, their magic circuits empty. The druids were unable to maintain their bear forms.

The gods were in a similar state. The fleeting hope of victory had drained all their strength.

Their only hope lay in Lugh, whose battle prowess was clearly superior to Nuada of the Silver Arm.

Lugh's confidence stemmed from the magical spear, Brionac, one of the four treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann!

Calling it a spear wasn't entirely accurate, even though its attribute was Light!

However, this spear, whose name meant 'piercer,' was more like a living magic spear. It constantly craved blood and could only be calmed by being soaked in opium-based sleeping draughts.

As battle approached, no matter how far away, as long as Lugh could see it, it would roar and flash, automatically break free from its strap, and fly into the enemy ranks, killing relentlessly and never tiring.

He slowly approached Odin, the Chaos Giant who was three times his height, half-closing his eyes as he sized up this former corrupt official: "Austin, is Chaos really so good that it's worth sacrificing your divinity to become a Chaos Giant?"

Lugh was practically calling Odin a traitor.

The muscles on Odin's face twitched, a complex expression appearing: "You're such a fortunate fellow. All you do is stand high above and point fingers at things you don't understand."

"If you're willing to return to the right path, the Tuatha Dé Danann will still accept you!" Lugh cautiously probed, while slowly circling the massive Odin. The God of Light had sensed that Odin appeared to be just an ordinary giant, but that was only how he 'appeared'. The chaotic power within had already transformed his body into a being unknown to Lugh.

Odin raised his eyelids slightly: "That's why I said, you understand nothing!"

Their conversation was clearly not on the same wavelength.

Lugh, at a disadvantage, had no time to waste, and he took the initiative to attack.

Brionac's shape was not that of an ordinary spear, but rather like a fisherman's harpoon or a farmer's pitchfork, with sharp prongs.

When Lugh poured brilliant light energy into the spear, its tip immediately transformed into five rays of light, dividing into five directions, drawing five dazzling arcs of different colors, all simultaneously blasting towards Odin.

This was why, in many Celtic myths or literary works, it was nicknamed 'The Five-Starred Piercer'.

"You can't escape! Odin—" Lugh loudly proclaimed the might of his divine spear.

Honestly, any normal Fomorian giant would have been unable to withstand Lugh's divine spear.

However, Odin was no Fomorian giant, not even an existence of this world!

Odin dared to say that no one in this world understood the characteristics of this homing spear better than he did.

Since there was no escape, why should I escape?

Choosing not to dodge, but preparing to take the hit head-on, was also a perfect response!

What happened next stunned Lugh completely.

Brilliant golden light and purple-blue lightning extended from the tip of the spear, instantly piercing Odin's body completely, and like four wooden stakes for building a house, pinning the burly traitor giant firmly to the ground.

The last ray of light, which should have been a killing blow, traversed the beach like a giant siege ram, slamming hard into the 'city gate' called Odin.

In Lugh's imagination, this strike should have pierced Odin instantly, killing him completely.

However, the toughness of Odin's body far exceeded Lugh's expectations.

Odin simply raised his right hand, using his palm to block his chest. When the spear pierced his palm and plunged into the muscles of his left chest, his tough pectoral muscles, the ribs with specially reduced gaps, and the specially strengthened heart, ultimately held Brionac firmly in place.

All the light in the center of the battlefield seemed to be frozen by an invisible divine power from Odin.

In contrast to Lugh's horrified expression was Odin's indifference.

"Not bad, a magic spear! I like it, it's mine now!"

The divine spear, Brionac, struggled frantically, trying to pull itself out of Odin's body, but Odin suddenly clenched his hand, and with the help of his other hand, held it firmly in place.

In the next second, a surging chaotic storm, like a tornado, rose around Odin, and this violent chaotic power poured into Brionac like a river bursting its banks.

All the color drained from Lugh's face—he truly hadn't imagined that there would be someone who could publicly desecrate this treasure of the Tuatha Dé Danann, and it looked like Odin was about to succeed.

"No—" Lugh drew his sword and rushed over.

His sword, Fragarach the Answerer, also had the characteristic of automatically locking onto attacks, but Odin's strange body made him afraid to do so.

Lugh never expected that just as he was charging towards Odin, the divine spear Brionac had already fallen.

Before everyone's eyes, Odin calmly pulled out the already corrupted magic spear and threw it backhand.

"咻!"

Five turbid rays of light pierced Lugh, the new leader of the Tuatha Dé Danann.

Having lost their leader twice in one day, the Tuatha Dé Danann completely collapsed.

Some cowards knelt and surrendered, while more broke their vows of surrender and fled in panic.

"The Tuatha Dé Danann are truly useless!" Odin sneered, and with a wave of his hand, the Chaos Deep Sea Giants behind him immediately roared and charged forward, chasing down the collapsing gods of the Tuatha Dé Danann.

This was definitely the darkest day for the Tuatha Dé Danann.

Three days later, the news of the Tuatha Dé Danann's defeat spread throughout the Emerald Isles.

Odin, the new Chaos Giant King, sent a proclamation of surrender to Ulster, the Kingdom of Connacht, the Knights of Fianna, King Arthur, and other forces: "The gods of the Tuatha Dé Danann whom you worship have been slaughtered by my subordinates! If you do not want your country to become a living hell, come to the Emerald Isle within a month and pledge allegiance to me!"

This change not only stunned the will of the Celtic world but even the Æsir gods, who had been watching as spectators, were stunned.

Was this still the Odin they knew?

How could he, just a remnant soul, cause such a commotion in another world?

Knowing the whole story, Hela secretly said to her father, Loki, "Why do I feel like His Majesty has the divine authority of 'Fate'?"

Loki's cheek muscles twitched: "It's impossible to control the 'Fate' of another world!"
