Spoiling History: Starting from the Three Kingdoms
Chapter 607 The endless Yangtze River flows
In the courtyard of Luoyang, Zhang Fei, who had some feelings for Wanyan Gou, suddenly remembered something:
"How long has the emperor of the Southern Song Dynasty lived?"
Although the light curtain did not say it specifically, it can still be calculated.
"When the Northern Song Dynasty fell in Jingkang, Zhao Gou should have been crowned, and it was about thirteen or fourteen years until Yue Wumu was unjustly killed."
"The loyal and good shed blood in exchange for twenty years of cowardice, so he should have been over fifty years old when he abdicated as the emperor."
Zhang Fei couldn't help mumbling: "Over fifty is not yet..."
Before he finished speaking, Zhang Fei suddenly remembered that his elder brother was fifty years old this year, and it seemed a bit...
This idea was spinning around before Zhang Fei figured it out, and he heard his brother's very cold voice over there:
"It is better to die ten years earlier to pacify the people of the world than to live for more than fifty years in vain."
Seeing his brother's face full of undisguised disgust, Zhang Fei suddenly realized: his brother was from Zhuo County with him.
Then another idea suddenly emerged from his mind:
"Military Advisor, do you know that castrating pigs can prolong the life of pigs?"
Kong Ming: "?"
...
"Little Yao and Shun... Ha!"
Zhao Kuangyin made a short murmur in his throat, as if mocking.
Then Zhao Guangyi saw the official looking him up and down, which made him a little nervous:
"Brother?"
"No problem." Zhao Kuangyin's dark face showed no extra expression:
"I just think that if the person who killed his brother can be called Yao and Shun, then you can be called..."
Zhao Guangyi's heart was lifted a little, but then he saw his brother pondering and shaking his head:
"How guilty the ancients were."
So Zhao Guangyi's face suddenly tended to turn red.
Zhao Kuangyin ignored it and just looked at the screen thoughtfully:
"The emperor of the Jin Dynasty is also short-sighted."
Zhao Guangyi's expression was a little confused, and then he heard Zhao Pu agree:
"Wanyan Liang was aggressive and wanted to conquer the world in one battle, but he was just a man with great ambitions and little talent."
"Rather than saying that Wanyan Yong was cultivating civil governance, it is better to say that he was... compromising everywhere."
Zhao Guangyi simply said out his doubts:
"The Mongols originated from the grasslands, and Wanyan Yong's policy of reducing the population was foresighted, so why is it short-sighted? ? "
Zhao Kuangyin glanced at his brother's bald head, and said with a "huh":
"The land south of the desert is vast. The Jin barbarians can be arrogant and domineering in Hebei without asking for anything. Why do they have to go deep into the vast sea to compete with the Mongolian Hu?"
"Moreover, the tribes south of the desert have always been at war or peace. The arrogance of the Jin barbarians may make the tribes share the same hatred for the enemy."
He said with a sigh:
"Brothers quarrel within the walls, and defend against external insults. The truth is simple. "
Zhao Guangyi suddenly felt that his brother was implying something, but he opened his mouth and didn't say much.
However, Zhao Kuangyin had already turned his head to appreciate the poems signed by Xin Qiji, and sighed:
"This Xin Qiji, holding a sword, can kill the enemy on the horse, and break the battle array with one force, leaving his name in history."
"Holding a pen, he can feel sorrow and joy, and write poems based on events, leaving his name for thousands of years."
"It's a pity that the Southern Song Dynasty has no shortage of Xin Qiji who can write poems, but needs Xin Qiji who can lead troops."
Zhao Pu was a little helpless about the official's sigh:
"This Xin Qiji's service across thousands of miles can show his sincerity, but..."
But what, everyone present understood.
So Zhao Kuangyin stopped talking, and after a long silence, he said:
"I will copy an extra copy of these poems and put them in my study, and I should use them to encourage myself."
[Historically, this literary salon between Xin Qiji and Chen Tongfu in Qianshan was called the second Ehu meeting.
This was a meeting worth remembering in the history of the Southern Song Dynasty. Two "noises" who were not welcome in the court found like-minded people and imagined traveling together in the future. This was a rare happy moment for Xin Qiji in his later years.
Perhaps inspired by Chen Tongfu, Xin Qiji, who had been unemployed for 20 years, also regained his spirits.
After the second meeting at Ehu Lake, Chen Tongfu left in a hurry. Xin Qiji missed this like-minded comrade very much and wrote a poem "Congratulations to the Newborn" and sent it to Chen Tongfu. Chen Tongfu also wrote a poem "Congratulations to the Newborn" in return to Xin Qiji.
Then Xin Ge was very happy and wrote another poem "Congratulations to the Newborn" in return, which shows how good their relationship was.
And this third poem "Congratulations to the Newborn" is the most praised, with a famous line:
"I pity you the most for dancing in the middle of the night, saying 'A man's heart is as hard as iron until death'. Let's try to mend the cracks in the sky"
It is very intuitive to see the change in Xin Ge's mentality, no longer lamenting in "Pozhenzi".
Why cheer up? In addition to the "High Mountains and Flowing Water" with Chen Tongfu, a small incident happened the year before this poem was written:
Wanyan Gou, who lived to be 81 years old, finally died.
Wanyan Gou, who had been filial to the Jin Kingdom for his whole life, was gone. Xin Qiji was probably quite happy. Was he finally able to discuss the Northern Expedition?
As a result, less than a month after "Let's Try to Repair the Crack in the Sky" was written, news came from the court:
Song Xiaozong did not want to be the emperor anymore and was determined to abdicate.
The reason was also very simple. Song Xiaozong was simply exhausted by Zhao Gou.
After the Longxing Peace Agreement, Song Xiaozong tried to revive and tried to promote a group of war advocates to revive the Northern Expedition, but the results were few.
Either Wei Qi, who was obviously a northerner but insisted on peace talks; or Jiang Fei, who directly stabbed the emperor in the back after taking the position of prime minister and turned into a peace advocate; or Yu Yunwen, who was capable but died suddenly.
Throughout the reign of Emperor Xiaozong of Song, due to the existence of Zhao Gou, the central decision-making level has always been in a state of advocating war and fighting. In the future, Emperor Xiaozong of Song had to pretend to be a grandson to Zhao Gou, which was exhausting.
Later generations speculated that it might also be related to the fact that the Jin Zhangzong of Jin was too young - Emperor Xiaozong of Song was forty years older than Emperor Zhangzong of Jin, but according to the agreement of Longxing Peace, he had to call the other uncle.
In short, after Wanyan Gou died, Emperor Xiaozong of Song abdicated quickly, and no one could stop him.
So Emperor Guangzong of Song came to power, but this emperor had a troublesome queen. She could sow discord between Emperor Xiaozong and Emperor Guangzong, causing a rift between father and son, and murder Emperor Guangzong's favorite concubine to scare the emperor into mental illness, which eventually led to Emperor Xiaozong of Song's illness and death. Emperor Guangzong ignored him and did not even go to the funeral to express condolences.
An emperor who was sickly, unfilial, and mentally ill aroused the dissatisfaction of the court at that time. He was eventually forced to abdicate by Zhao Ruyu, Han Tuozhou and other ministers. In 1194, Song Ningzong ascended the throne.
Song Ningzong, who was pushed to the throne by ministers, was a foolish emperor. He had good intentions, but he lacked his own opinions and believed whatever others said, which made it very easy for Han Tuozhou to control the court.
But for Xin Qiji, this was a rare good news, because Han Tuozhou invited the war faction like him, and the purpose was self-evident.
When the 64-year-old Xin Qiji took office, he climbed the Beigu Pavilion in Jingkou (i.e. Zhenjiang) and sighed, which gave Shiwange a wave of reputation.
But at that time, whether it was the ambitious Han Tuozhou or the emotional Xin Qiji.
Or maybe it was the ignorant Song Ningzong, or the hedonistic Jin Zhangzong.
No one could have imagined that this battle between Song and Jin would become the best catalyst for the rise of Mongolia. 】
