The Phantom of the Opera Music Angel
Chapter 12
The old manager chattered that he was about to retire due to physical reasons.
Darlene couldn't help but glanced at Eric. He must know better than anyone why the old man retired. At [-] francs a month, it is not easy for the old manager to survive until now.
"It is my great honor to introduce the new managers of our opera house, Mr. Richard Fomin and Mr. Gilles André. Gentlemen, this is our principal soprano, Carlotta Giudy Mrs. Shirley, she has been the principal soprano for nineteen consecutive times! This is Mr. Urbaldo Pianghi, our tenor."
Richard has already approached Carlotta enthusiastically to make friends.
"Oh, ma'am, I've admired all the great parts you've played. I remember this Hannibal play you're rehearsing in the third act, and Eliza has a wonderful aria, and I think, ma'am, Would you like to perform a private song for us?"
Carlota smiled at the new manager: "If my manager ordered it like this...Mr. Reyer!"
When the conductor Mr. Reyer heard her words, he asked helplessly, "Isn't it enough to sing two bars for the audition? Ma'am."
"Enough," said Mr. Andre.
The soothing music sounded, and Carlota exhaled to adjust her feeling, and then sang along with the music.
"Thinkofme (miss me), Thinkofmefondlu]ywhenwehavesaygoodbye (still miss me tenderly after we part)..."
Her voice is very gorgeous, like a golden light that makes people dizzy. But cold and emotionless.
By the time she started singing "Think of me" for the second time, Eric's patience had reached its limit.Darlene didn't see how he did it, but all of a sudden she noticed that the huge curtain had come down and just crushed Carlotta to the ground.
There was a commotion on stage, with a dancer yelling in horror, "It's him! The Phantom of the Opera! Here he comes!"
The bewildered and irritated new manager was furious: "Can you be a little more polite, please?"
"Where's Bukai? Where did Bukai go?" the old manager asked. In fact, he already knew in his heart that this matter had nothing to do with Bukai. It's his responsibility."
The short, fat and dusty Buquet rushed over, and Richard asked anxiously, "Buquet, God, what's going on up there?"
Bouquet protested, "Don't look at me like that, sir. I'm not on duty, for God's sake. There's no one there, and if there was, it must be the Phantom of the Opera!"
The exclamation sounded again. The dancers hugged each other in a panic to comfort each other, and Christine frowned slightly, comforting Meg absent-mindedly.
Andre hoped to calm down the turmoil as soon as possible, and helped Carlota up politely: "Madam, I'm sorry, but I think there must be accidents..."
"Accidents are inevitable?" Carlota exclaimed, "You have only been here for 5 minutes, why are you so self-righteous? It has been three years, accidents! accidents! accidents! That's all you can say! accidents are inevitable? Good! No more accidents! Urbado, let's go!"
Carlotta ran away in a huff.
Ulbaldo said to the old manager with a sullen expression: "Neglect of duty." He also followed Carlota.
"Sir, I'm afraid I can't help you much. I wish you good luck. If you want to find me, please go to Frankfurt." The old manager waved his cane and hurried away.
"Mrs. Carlotta, will she come back?" Richard asked with some uncertainty.
"Do you think so? Sir." Mrs. Geary said helplessly, "I have a letter here from the Phantom of the Opera."
"Oh my god, what's wrong with you all!" Andre obviously didn't believe in the Phantom of the Opera.
Seeing that the two ignored them, Mrs. Geary had no choice but to open the letter and read: "He welcomes you to his opera house."
"His opera house?" cried Richard.
"And ask you to continue to reserve box No. [-] for him. I also remind you that his salary should be paid-Mr. Lafayette has paid him a salary of [-] yuan a month. Now you have Viscount Charney's support, Maybe pay a little more."
Andre's attention went elsewhere: "Madam, I should announce this news."
Richard is obviously more able to see the problem: "Tonight's tickets are sold out? Then, Carlotta will have a replacement, right?"
Mr. Reyer took out a clean white handkerchief and wiped his sweatless forehead: "No, there is no substitute for Carlotta!"
"Kristen Daye can sing, sir," said Meg, taking courage to step up.
"The dancer?" Richard asked disdainfully.
Meg hurriedly defended: "She has been studying under a master..."
Eric's body seemed to tense.
"Who? Miss?" Richard sneered.
"Wait, Daye...does the familiar surname have anything to do with that famous Swedish violinist?" Andre interrupted.
"My father, sir." Christine stood up, a little shy, but with clear and brave eyes.
"Let her try, sir. She's doing well," said Mrs. Geary, also coming forward.
"Okay, miss, please start with the beginning of the aria." Mr. Reyer waved his baton.
The same music sounded again.
Darlene narrowed her eyes slightly, such soft music always made her wish she could sing along with it.She felt a tickle in her throat, but she couldn't make any sound.Below, Christine has started singing.Eric's fingers trembled a little.
"Thinkofme (miss me), Thinkofmefondlu]ywhenwehavesaygoodbye (still miss me tenderly after we part). Rememberme (remember me), everysooften (remember me from time to time), Promisemeyou'lltry (promise me you'll try to do this) Do)……"
She sang tremulously, a little faster than the music.Eric frowned slightly, still listening.
"Andre, this doesn't reassure me." Richard complained.
"Hi, she's beautiful." Andre squeezed Richard.
"On that day (on that day), that not so distant day (on that not far away day), when you're far away and free (when you're far away from me, unrestrained), if you every find a moment (if you still have a moment to spare), sparethoughtforme (share some thoughts with me) )..."
The tension slowly faded, and a radiant confidence appeared on her face. She sang so affectionately and so beautifully that every listener was deeply moved.
After the song was sung, Christine won the applause of the whole house. The ecstatic manager welcomed her down like a savior, having decided that Kristen would be the star of the night.
The author has something to say: The dialogue of the musical is not included to make up the word count, but to hope that those who have never seen the Phantom of the Opera will not find it difficult to watch
If there is a large musical plot, the chapters will be longer.
