Nature

Chapter 39

As soon as he finished speaking, Gandalf gave Anna a deep look. "I don't want to go to Moria," he said, "but even if I don't want to, if you insist, I will take you through it."

"I don't want to." Aragorn said heavily, "I have passed through the Dark Stream Gate once, and I hope that I will never pass through it again in my lifetime."

"I don't want to," said Boromir. "It seems that we may come to my country through the Pass of Rohan."

"I don't want to," Legolas said.

"I will," cried Gimli. "My cousin Balin will treat us as honored guests, with roaring fires, delicious barley wine, and huge roasts! What do you think, little fellow?"

"I would," said Merry, "if there was tobacco."

"Sure," said Gimli.

"Then I will go too!" cried Pippin. "And you, Frodo?"

Sam looked at Frodo, and then at the Men of Man.

"Let us go through the mines," said Frodo, "and some will show us the way."

The night falls, and the wind howls.Anna sat by the edge of the bonfire, looking at the darkness in the distance, and yawned wearily.

"You can rest tonight." Legolas and Aragorn came over, and the blond elf stared at Anna, "Let's watch the night."

Anna shook her head, "No need." She said in a hoarse voice, "I'm not tired."

Aragorn smiled, "Kai Mengting, you are not an iron man, you also need to rest. Only in this way can you fight better."

Anna stared at the flickering fire, and she sighed unconsciously.

"Alright. But when I went to Gushan, I rarely rested."

Legolas had a look of dissatisfaction on his face, "Then they are too inconsiderate," he muttered.

The flames were jumping, reflecting on Anna's face, and she lowered her eyelashes like butterfly wings.

Sauron, Ring, Balrog, Fire.

They set out for Moria.Anna walked at the end full of thoughts, watching the sun set and rise again, and listening to the howling wind.

A group of people walked in a field full of red rocks, the land was desolate and arid. There was no sign of a bird flying in the sky, and there was nothing alive in sight.A small meandering stream runs through the ancient avenue paved with stone slabs, and the ruins of ruins have witnessed the traces of time.

"There used to be a brook here." Gandalf looked at the deep, narrow bed of the river, where the bare rocks were exposed. "The Silarnon brook, but I don't know why it stopped flowing."

"The vicissitudes of life." Anna said with emotion, she looked into the distance, and there was a wide gap.

They trekked along the path for a long time, and finally saw the gables of Moria. The original valley became a lake. The dark and calm lake had strange ripples, without a trace of vitality.

Anna narrowed her eyes as she watched Frodo pass her, the ring's mighty force beating against her heart.

"Old in the valley the end of Hollyshire fell," said Gandalf, "and in that happier age there were good friendships among the different races, even the Elves and the Dwarves."

"Is it the fault of the dwarves that the friendship has faded?"

"I never heard that it was the elves' fault."

"Is your relationship worse than our relationship with the orcs?" said Anna, walking beside Legolas, and following Gandalf from the north path to the gate of Moria. forward. The sky is already full of stars.

"You should at least be friends, Gimli, and Legolas," said Gandalf, "and I believe that in the process of getting along with the dwarves, the most experienced person should be Camentine."

"Heh, it was Groin who always went against my will and did things against me back then."

Gimli yelled, "Then you should be happy to see Balin!"

They stood in front of the wall, looking at the dark wall, Gandalf muttered silently, and put his hand on the wall.Under the moonlight, silver patterns gradually appeared on the gray wall. At first, they were long and thin white lines like spider silk, and then gradually became clear until the entire pattern was distinguished.

Two sacred trees of the high elves supported the vault intertwined with elven letters. The leaves in the middle were curved like a crescent moon. Below it was the star of the Feanor family, and above it was the coat of arms of Turin, the ancestor of the dwarves.

"Speak, my friend, and enter," read Gandalf. "What do you mean?"

"Meaning, Mellon!" Ana said aloud as the door slammed open.

Gandalf looked back at Anna with another meaningful expression.

"So simple." Legolas marveled.

"That era was often much simpler than it is now." Gandalf slowly leaned on his cane, and the secret fire ignited on the top, illuminating the dark mine pit.

"This is a tomb." Boromir murmured, looking at the corpses and bones beneath his feet.

Aragorn bent down and pulled out an arrow from the corpse, only to hear Gimli crying and screaming.

Bahrain... Anna's heart was very heavy, and she felt a little sad when she thought of that kind old man with white hair back then.

"It's the goblins," said Legolas. "We must get out of here."

Frodo stared in shock at what he saw, and stepped back a few steps.Anna raised her head, only to see a long tentacle sticking out.

"careful!"

Sam sprang on, and embraced Frodo. "Strider! Strider!" he cried.

Merry and Pippin were terrified, and Anna threw a puck, which hit the monster's tentacles, and the monster flinched.

The black cloak was blown back, and an octopus-like monster emerged from the water. Ana jumped on top of its head, drew her sword, and stabbed hard.

"Who are you!" She uttered a strange tone, which even Anna herself did not know how to make.

The monster hissed, "Who are you!" it repeated, "Who are you!"

"Daughter of the sea! Queen of water elves!" Anna suddenly understood that it was her instinct and nature to communicate with creatures in the water.

"Your Majesty... Your Majesty..." the monster hissed, and the tentacles let go of their bindings.

"Anna! Watch out!" Legolas shot an arrow, hitting the monster in one of the eyes.

The monster roared in pain, Anna saw that the situation was not good, jumped up from the monster, but was hit by the monster's flying tentacles, and slammed into the rock hard.

"Wicked! Wicked!" hissed the monster, baring itself, flailing its tentacles in Frodo's direction, and saying, in a language only Anna could understand, "Wicked!"

Legolas rushed over and helped Anna up. "We're going into the mine." He said, dragging Anna halfway into Moria.

The door was closed heavily, and in the endless darkness, there was the fear of death and ignorance, attacking Anna densely.

"It seems that we must pass," said Gandalf, leaning on his stick to light the crowd.

In the dark, they went up and down the winding stone steps for a while. After an unknown amount of time, Anna could no longer distinguish day from night. She only felt tired and cold sweeping her body, and the rare hunger made her dizzy.

"I'm hungry!" Merry yelled.

"You are hungry again! Meriadoc!" said Gandalf, and he stopped.

"This is the third time since coming to Moria."

"I'm also a little hungry." Anna said softly, she took out some dry food and gave some to Meri.

Legolas watched in silence as Anna finished nibbling some biscuits and opened another bottle of plum jam.

They came to a fork in the road, and suddenly Gandalf didn't know the way. He sat on a big rock and thought hard.

"Are we lost?"

"Maybe."

"Gandalf is thinking."

"Ah."

"Merry?"

"Ok?"

"I'm hungry too."

Merry looked at Pippin, and he spread his hands helplessly, "You go to find Kai Mengting."

"But she's asleep," said Pippin, whispering into Merry's ear. "I want plum jam. Let's go and get some."

Anna did fall asleep. She sat on the stone steps, leaned against the wall lightly, and fell asleep.

This is not like her usual.she thought drowsily.

——"Anna..." A voice called her, who is it?

She shrank back, feeling a little cold, with the cloak wrapped around her body, she whispered a few words in her sleep.

——"Rest, rest." A sweet voice said, "Close your eyes, go to sleep, don't worry about it anymore. Let go of all sorrow and troubles, and go to the place where there is no pain."

— "Look, you're asked to kill the Balrog. Those Valar don't even think you can do it, do they?"

——"How annoying they are. Why do you have to bear this? Look at yourself, you may still lose everything in the end after struggling for a lifetime. Those elves are also hypocritically saying that they are waiting for you, but they are constantly I will ask you where your original intention is. Do we have to listen to their actions when we live in this world?"

— "Come on, relax, it's all over. Look at you, a stranger. Outsider. Is that what they say about you? A human, not an elf, no."

——"Anna...wake up, don't sleep..."

So cold, so cold.

Anna wrapped the cloak tighter. She dreamed of being a child, sitting alone in a seat while other children were playing, reading a book with a sad expression.

No one cares about you...no one will help you...only you...only you...

Are you tired?certainly. Then rest and sleep.Everything will be relaxed and you will be pain free.

But I can't do it, I can't...

"Anna!" A voice sounded, and Anna felt her shoulders being shaken violently. In a trance, she opened her eyes.

A golden head dominated the view, and Legolas watched her anxiously.

"What's wrong with you! Why can't you wake up no matter how you call?"

Anna's eyes widened in a daze, the blue eyes no longer had the look of the past.

——"Anna..."

She woke up suddenly and stood up. "I'm fine." She said calmly.

Legolas looked at her suspiciously. "I don't believe it," he said. "You look very bad."

"It's okay." Anna rubbed her temples, "Has Gandalf found his way? Then let's continue on our way."

Everyone walked on the dark road and along the long corridor to the magnificent hall.A dome was propped up by tall pillars, and under the dim light, the ceiling seemed unattainable.

"It's so beautiful here...I can even imagine the beauty of it in its heyday." Legolas sighed, looking around, he seemed to be able to see crystal chandeliers and golden canopies.

"Think about it, Menegroth is more beautiful than it, and Tirian is far better than it." Anna murmured, looking around the empty hall, she felt regretful.

The failure after the glory, is it buried here, or is it reborn.

They came to a small stone chamber, where a dim light shone through an upper window on a slab of white marble.Gimli opened his eyes wide and ran over quickly.

"No!" he yelled, his voice choked up, pulling his hood down over his face.

Everyone slowly gathered around, lowered their heads, and looked at the runes deeply carved on the stone slab.

"Bahrain, son of Findin. Lord of Moria."

Anna lowered her head silently and stopped making a sound.

It seemed that the journey to the Lonely Mountain was imminent, and the kind old man smiled at her.

——"Welcome to join us, Nana."
