[CM] THE CASE

Chapter 70

Love is the beauty of the soul. — St. Augustine

"Merry Christmas!" Griffith handed Lucy a beautiful box.

"Oh, Merry Christmas, my friends! Come in! Is it freezing on the road?" Lucy wore a baggy Santa suit and a white cotton beard. Griffith glanced at the clean road, and Reid retorted solemnly: "No, it hasn't snowed yet, and I'm still wearing a cotton coat."

"Hahaha, Jesus!" Lucy laughed until tears fell, "Foster, where did you find this sweetheart?"

Reid frowned at her affectionate address, and Griffith patted him on the shoulder: "It was picked up by our boss in a basket under the tree."

"I want the same basket too!" Lucy smiled enough before letting them in sideways, "Welcome, welcome, have a nice night."

Reid took a few steps first, and Griffith was tugged by Lucy. The girl covered her mouth with her hand and whispered: "I have said hello to my friends, don't worry, no one will provoke your friends."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome, it wasn't my idea anyway." Lucy blinked, with an ambiguous expression, "But you don't have to. A lot of people saw you that day, and later asked me for your phone number. I guess, you need A nice evening."

Griffith shudders at her capitalized "pleasant": "Thank you—you, you didn't…"

With her hands on her hips, Lucy feigned anger and said, "Who do you think I am? Of course not!"

"……thanks."

Lucy handed him two glasses of wine and waited at the door to open the door for the next guest.

It didn't take long for Griffith to realize that all he needed was a glass.

Reid got a glass of sparkling wine from someone, and chatted happily with a man with glasses. Griffith stood alone by the Christmas tree, listening to the Christmas songs played by the tape recorder, and people gathered in groups, laughing and holding glasses.

A festival in a foreign country is inexplicably lonely.

Reid looked up and saw him, and waved happily: "Griffith!"

It seems... not so lonely.

"This is my high school classmate, Ray." Reid said excitedly, "We worked together as assistants in the chemistry lab and won prizes together!"

"Hello." Ray had a mess of curly hair on his head, and the collar of his shirt was also standing up in a mess. He stretched out his pale hand, "I...I'm Ray, you..."

Griffith's hands were occupied by the wine glass, and there was no table nearby to put it down, so he nodded awkwardly: "Hello, my name is Foster."

"Oh, um... nice to meet you." Ray finally realized Griffith's predicament, retracted his hand and rubbed it, "Then, did I meet you somewhere?"

Reid frowned, looking back and forth between the two.Only now did he realize why Ray was here, and a sense of crisis emerged spontaneously: "Well, Foster is my colleague."

"Oh, maybe I've seen the photos..." Ray unconsciously said, "Foster, have you..."

"No." Reid said warily, "Griffith, do you want a snack? I just saw they have egg yolk crisps."

Griffith wanted to put down his glass very much, and nodded upon hearing this: "I'll just go, don't you want to talk to Ray more?"

Reid just wants to get out of here quickly: "There will be opportunities in the future, we still have a classmate, right?"

Ray nodded obediently, his jaw hadn't left his chest, and Reid and Griffith were gone.

"Strange," Ray muttered, "I actually met him."

"Merry Christmas, Sally!"

Sally exclaimed in surprise: "Is it a gift? John?"

"Yes, yes, my dear." Walker unwrapped the wrapping paper for her, "Here, hold out your hand."

Sally flattened her palm expectantly, feeling a cool chain fall into her palm.

"This is?"

"Necklace." Walker replied, "You can feel it. The chain is platinum, and you don't need to take it off when you take a shower."

Sally touched the pendant with her fingertips, trying to figure out the complicated shape: "Shh, don't reveal the answer yet, let me guess."

Walker smiled dotingly: "Of course, baby, you can guess slowly."

"I feel the wings...is it a bird?"

"It's an angel, Cupid." Walker placed a kiss on the corner of her mouth, "My little angel, my Cupid...do you like it?"

"I like it." Sally held the gift in her palm, "Put it on for me, will you?"

"Of course, Angel." Walker undid the delicate buttons, and Sally brushed her hair back, revealing her fair neck. The man's fingertips brushed her delicate skin, and his deep voice was like melted chocolate: "Okay."

Sally touched the warm pendant, raised her head and asked, "Does it look good?"

"Pretty, but not as good as you."

"Oh, John!" Sally giggled, "John, John, why are you so sweet?"

Walker kissed the back of her hand with no emotion in his eyes.

"Fool, because I love you."

"...and she said 'because I love you'." Lucy finished the glass and passed the empty glass aside. Mariah didn't refill her glass, but snatched the glass and slammed it on the table: "It's gone."

Lucy's cheeks were slightly red, and she said coquettishly, "There's still half a bottle left. Honey, give it to me~"

"Half the bottle is mine, I won't give it to you."

"Don't be so disappointing." Lucy took Mariah's arm, "Sweetheart~"

The people around who were listening to the story were so bored by the two of them that their teeth were sore, and they dispersed one after another. Griffith and Reid were on the outside, after listening to their rough love story, Griffith shook his head: "They are very lucky."

"Lucky?" Reid wondered, "I didn't hear any luck, they were miserable."

"But it ended well. A person who loves you, a person you love, has the courage to hold on to each other and not give up, isn't that lucky?" Griffith raised his glass in their direction, "To the lucky ones."

"Do you envy them?" Reid asked.

"Maybe." Griffith finished his drink and put the glass down. Reid noticed that he didn't take a drink: "You stopped drinking?"

"No, I'm a little drunk." Griffith blushed too, "One more drink and you'll have to carry me back."

back...

Reid looked forward to it.But Griffith obviously wouldn't give him the chance. Reid finished his drink dejectedly, hearing a commotion behind them.

Lucy's house hung a string of mistletoe in the corridor, where the couple kissed, and the onlookers gave their blessings and applause. Standing on tiptoe, Reid caught a bunch of unruly curly hair.

Reid was shocked: "That seems to be Ray?"

"Ray?" Griffith also sounded surprised, "I thought he didn't have a boyfriend?"

"Actually, the kisses under the mistletoe are not necessarily couples. Many campus love dramas like to use kisses under the mistletoe to express their love. In fact, at some crazy parties, you can kiss anyone at will..." Reid looked up awkwardly With a glance, "You, do you want to try it?"

"What?" Griffith looked up after him, only to find that he had a bunch of mistletoe hanging from his head.

"So, are you going to try it?"

Griffith stares at him like it's the first day they've met.

"Foster?" Reid lowered his head and gradually approached, "Can I?"

"I'm probably drunk," Griffith thought. "His eyes are so pretty."

Warm light melted in his brown eyes, thinking of undiscovered treasures.

Maybe he really is.

The longer Reid waited, the darker the light in his eyes became. Griffith sighed, he never had the heart.

Reid was already getting very close, Griffith didn't back away, it was a tacit consent. So he pecked carefully, like the wind blowing a feather, not touching it at all.

He licked his lips contentedly like a stealing cat, even though he hadn't tasted anything. But still very satisfied.

That's his sweetheart.
