[CM] THE CASE

Chapter 19

The prerequisite for a person to be lucky is that he has the ability to change himself. ——Anonymous

From the moment he stepped into the cabin, Reid had a strange premonition. He couldn't tell what was wrong, so while Griffith was arguing with the mean Mr. Gravekeeper, Reid took a good look at the house.

This wooden house can be described as "a house with four walls".The furniture was old and shabby, and there was a rocking chair in the center of the room with throw pillows and blankets thrown over it.On the wall opposite the rocking chair is the head of a deer, with several photographs under it. Reid took a look from a distance, what appeared to be a boy, and his family.Behind the rocking chair is the kitchen, but there is no kitchen utensils, obviously just for fun. There is no room, and the bed is by the wall opposite the door, probably because I live alone, and I didn't consider the issue of privacy at all.So he didn't have any relatives or friends.

Reid suppressed his doubts for the time being, and joined Griffith in dealing with Mr. Wilson.

It was when he was kicked out that he really realized the problem, and Reid glanced over the wall, and something flashed in his brain.

Except for the wall that the bed is leaning against, there are more or less things hanging on the other walls.Deer heads, deerskins, and whatnot, are all hunting game. For a veteran hunter—Reid guessed that Wilson had been a hunter, through the dagger he hung from his antlers—these trophies were a testament to his ability. He hung all these in a prominent position, but left the wall next to the bed alone, why?Obviously that is the most eye-catching place, everyone who comes in can see it at a glance, isn't it?

Reid runs away quickly. He left the porch, walked around the side of the house, and gestured with his hands.

"Thanks Griffith for just circling it," Reid thought.

Because he found that the inside of this house is different from the outside.

The length, the problem is the length.

Reid's photographic memory makes him sensitive to many things, such as length. The inside of the house is about five meters shorter than the outside of the house, so Reid felt a little strange when he first entered the door.

There should be a secret room where a person can hide.He thought of the little boy in the photo frame, with gloomy eyes and slightly hunched back, like a hedgehog protecting himself.

"I need to look at that list again, complete," Reid said, not sure if he was addressing Griffith.

Griffith glanced at the wooden house, and suddenly understood what Reid's "length" meant, and felt it was ridiculous: "You mean, there is a secret room here?"

"Yes, the inside is about five meters shorter than the outside, and there may be a house." Reid walked to the side of the car, opened the door and was about to open it, but was pulled by Griffith.

Reid looked at him strangely: "What's wrong?"

Griffith looked a little dazed under Reid's gaze: "Um, well, you should go to the driver's seat."

Only then did Reid realize that what he opened was the passenger's door.

"Sorry." Reid stepped sideways to let Griffith into the car, and walked around to the other side to get into the car himself. He's not used to such arrangements, such as driving or something.

"You should take your driver's license test," Reid said again.

"Actually, I have a driver's license, but in China." Griffith said. Before Reid could speak, he added, "But I've hit a tree before, so—" he shrugged, "I guess I'd be safer not touching the steering wheel."

Reid went through the list again as he wished. For the full version, there is also everyone's information.Garcia, who was far away in Quantico, wished she could crawl along the phone line until Grayson pinched Reid's neck and shook it: "Okay, Garcia from the Room of Requirement reports! Take it, little Sherlock Holmes, your request is really troublesome oh."

"Thanks, Garcia. You're the best!" Reid said sincerely. He knew that his request was troublesome, and Garcia was also very hard.

After Garcia hung up, Reid flipped through the computer. Griffith passed behind Reid with a cup of coffee, startled by the flashing information on the screen.

"Has he always been like this?" Griffith whispered to Jareau, keeping his startled tone. "It's horrible."

Morgan laughed unceremoniously, obviously hearing Griffith's words.

Jareau took the coffee from Griffith's hand: "Thank you, but you will get used to Reid, and you will like him in the future."

"I do like him quite a bit," Griffith replied earnestly. "It's rare to see someone that smart, and, I mean, who doesn't like smart people?"

"You really think so, Griffith?" Morgan looked Griffith up and down in surprise, even Gideon was looking at him.

"..." Griffith gripped his coffee cup tightly and said cautiously, "Is there something wrong?"

"Well, there's nothing wrong with it, except that not everyone likes smart people, and I have to correct you on that." Jareau took a sip of his coffee, "Most people think he's showing off or being an idiot."

Jareau uses "he" instead of "they".

Griffith glanced back at Reid again.

He wears glasses, and although the FBI doesn't recruit people with poor vision, Reid's vision is within the allowable range.Only occasionally does he wear glasses, which makes him more of a student than an FBI agent with a gun.

Reid has status, ability, and wisdom, but he is not proud of it. Although many people will criticize him with jealous eyes, he takes those criticisms seriously and urges himself to do better.

Griffith lowered his eyes.He saw "JG" on his left wrist, and saw his fingers slowly closing and spreading.

Reid is an anomaly, and in the eyes of most people, that is the truth. He's too smart, that's the only reason.

"You're an anomaly, too," Griffith said to himself secretly, "but you're not as good as him."

Suddenly a little ashamed.

Morgan didn't notice Griffith's sinking mood, but expressed his surprise at something else: "Hey buddy, are you drinking coffee?"

"Huh? Ah, yes. I didn't sleep well yesterday." Griffith said, "But I added a lot of sugar, it seems a bit too sweet." He curled his index finger and scratched his cheek, looking a little embarrassed: " I... I rarely drink coffee and I don’t know how to make it. I only make instant coffee and I don’t know how to use a coffee machine.”

"..." Morgan suppressed the exclamation that "someone can't use a coffee machine".

Jareau looked down at his coffee: "But you made it pretty well."

"That's what, uh, Martin taught me." Griffith pointed in the direction of the coffee machine, where a white policeman was looking at them and smiled at Griffith. Griffith gave him a smile too, and the policeman's smile deepened.

Jareau was silent. She and Morgan looked at each other, and saw the expression on Morgan's face that they wanted to go together.

Looking at Griffith again, he didn't realize anything was wrong, and was still drinking coffee happily.

Jareau sighed silently at Griffith's dullness.

Reid suddenly yelled: "I found it!" Then, he walked over, holding a piece of information stamped with a red stamp: "This person is on the list."

Jareau was close. She took the information from Reid: "EdWilsonHil? This person has disappeared."

"Wilson," Gideon said slowly, "that gravekeeper was also called Wilson."

"That's right," Reid said, "many people use their mother's surname as their middle name, so I read that he and AnnaWilson are mother-son, and AnnaWilson is the daughter of the gravekeeper. And, he is not missing. Wilson's There's a back room in the cabin, and I guess Hill is hiding there."

"Hill studied nursing, but was rejected because he was suspected of mental problems." Jareau flipped through the files. "And he is missing. We have never suspected him."

"Wilson has been taking sedatives for insomnia, and those drugs have side effects." Griffith said, "But his hands are not shaking, which means he is not taking those drugs."

"So, Hill took the medicine," Gideon said. "We found him."
