Chapter 24
It rained before the sun rose.In the early morning, the clouds were dense, the water was steaming, and a few raindrops fell from time to time. The yellow rose drooped its head and stretched its branches weakly.A few hours later, near noon, the clouds had been blown away by the strong west wind. The bright sun shines on the valley, and the sheep on the green hills in the distance move slowly like clouds.
Albus Dumbledore appeared in the garden in the middle of the street, the grass was rustling, and a light gray hare hopped across the gravel path, turning itself pure white as it jumped. He smiled, straightened his hat, and then walked quickly towards the blue fence not far away.Last summer, at Ariana's urging, Albert painted the faded fence a bright sky blue.Aberforth shook his head and commented, "I don't want to say a word."
Towards the end of summer, the walls of the stone house are covered with vines, and the thick green broad leaves sway in the breeze, looking cool and pleasant.Various spells have been cast around the compound, including a goblin exorcism spell.Albus saw a few goblins cursing at the lush purse peonies in the yard, and then reluctantly burrowed into the garden of the neighbor's house, and began to eat weeds boredly.
"...who are you?" a small voice squealed, "Name!"
Albus raised the corners of his mouth, "I'm Albus. Who are you?"
"I'm—" the voice hiccupped, seemed to be getting angry, and then it got louder, "I'm... the world's biggest... ball fish!"
"Hello, Miss the world's largest ball fish, I brought you a water snail." Albus pushed open the fence door, unable to hide his smile.Standing in front of a bush of begonias in full bloom, little Annie raised her pointed chin proudly. "Albus!"
"Honey, that's not a good word." Albus picked her up, "You're a lady, you can't swear."
"I want a water snail." Annie bit her hand and said vaguely, her blue eyes were big and round.Albus took her little hand away, and took some candy from his pocket. At that moment Arianna rushed out of the living room, and Albus stretched out his other arm and took her into his arms.
"You trampled the daffodil down," he said.
"Oh, no." Ariana glanced at poor Daffodil, "I'm a little over excited. You're coming back after the end of summer," she snorted angrily, "if I hadn't seen you in the paper , I thought that Merlin blessed my good brother to finally get enlightened before the age of 30 and elope with someone."
"Elope!" Annie repeated her mother's words with a smile, and Albus pinched her upturned nose helplessly, "You can't say that word either."
"Gellert was earlier than you, and he didn't go anywhere earlier. Bagshot went shopping in Diagon Alley, and she asked you to open the door directly." Ariana took her daughter, snatched the candy from her hand, and stuffed it into her apron pocket. The little girl immediately wrinkled her face and bared her teeth in dissatisfaction, "My candy—" she yelled, "The candy Albus gave me!"
The old house was really cool and pleasant, but this was also due to the effect of the spell.Ariana still lives here after she gets married, and the rooms of her two brothers are still reserved.Albus tossed his suit jacket on the bed and looked out the window. The bedroom opposite was empty. Gellert should be downstairs.
Thinking of that man, Albus pursed his lips expressionlessly. He hurried downstairs and picked up the sobbing Annie.Little Thing is mourning the loss of Lemon Drops. "Tangtang," she cried and complained, "my Tangtang—mother is bad!" She wiped her tears, "Mom—stupid!"
German again.Since Ariana and her husband Albert are not very proficient in foreign languages, there must be a neighbor who loves to shout and abuse in foreign languages.Albus carried Annie across the lane and directly into the Bagshot's house. It was very cool, and the icy pheromone made his breathing stagnate. The living room was empty, but someone in the small hall next door was stammering an excuse in German, and then Gellert yelled—in German, of course—“You can’t do such a simple thing well, your brains are so busy. Voldebat sucked dry?"
"Stupid—" Annie waved her little hand, eager to try.Albus quickly pressed his fingers over her mouth until she curled her lips and gave up.He walked gently into the small hall with the girl in his arms. Gellert Grindelwald turned his face slightly, his blond curly hair brushed over his shoulders, and his blue eyes were extremely sharp.
Looks like a tough fight.
"Ah, oh," the shaggy head in the fireplace stammered in English, looking up and down with surprise at Albus and the girl in his arms, "you, hello, first meet……"
"Hello," Albus greeted gently, "good day."
"I didn't know you were married," the guy looked back, and quickly muttered excitedly in German, "for Merlin's sake! Your daughter is so old! Why did you—"
Gellert turned his head, glanced at Albus, was silent for a few seconds, and then said, "That's the neighbor's child, not mine."
"It's a pity." The head said, "As for that matter... I want to say that it really can't be blamed on us. I swear on my father's dignity."
"Shut your mouth." Gellert waved his hand irritably, signaling him to get out.Nodding his head at Albus, he said goodbye politely, "See you next time, ma'am," before disappearing into the flames.
"Don't listen to his nonsense." Gellert snapped his fingers and conjured a fat armchair out of the air, "Sit—are you done with your business?"
"It's done." Albus sat Annie on his lap, and the little girl shook her blond hair, trying to grab Gellert's robes. "I could have come back a week earlier, but school," he shrugged, "emergencies are always unpredictable."
"If you don't come back, the summer vacation will be over." Gellert absently picked at the lace of the sofa cushion, trying to get the old lace off, "Annoying summer. You should ask the owl to bring me a letter—come A cup of tea?"
"It's just trivial academic affairs, not a big problem." Albus looked at Gellert's face, "Tired, isn't it?"
"Most people in the world are—" Gellert sneered, then closed his eyes wearily, "it's nothing, just... I found out yesterday that I had a gray hair. My friend, I suddenly feel old ,” he sighed, “though I am an old man.”
