[HP] Don't talk to me

Chapter 22 Mutual Warmth

Tired of crying, Taefa broke free from Snape's arms and wiped away tears.

"Professor, you can't tell others what I said just now."

It was already dark, and the night outside the window slipped into the corridor, onto Snape's face.

"Okay." He promised softly. "I won't tell anyone."

Taefa took a deep breath in satisfaction, "Okay, I don't have anything else to do. I'm always like this, I cry when I'm sad, because if I don't cry, it will be more uncomfortable if I don't cry, and in the end going to cry."

She grabbed Snape's hand and held it gently. "Let's go, tonight is Christmas Eve, even if it's just the two of us staying in school, we still have to spend it."

Snape let the girl hold her hand and walked towards the dining room. For the first time, there was a ripple in his young and lonely heart that he hadn't even noticed.

Since there were only two of them, they naturally sat together at the long table.Taefa cried loudly, but once he calmed down, he immediately looked like a grown-up again.Snape looked at her thoughtfully as she directed the elf to arrange the few dishes and lit the candles again.

"Tonight is Christmas Eve. I originally wanted the little ones below to come up to eat together, but they still refused. So, in the end it was just the two of us." Taefa tore a turkey leg while Drinking a glass of soda, she turned her head and saw Snape eating the vegetables on the plate without haste, and immediately handed over a plate of beef pie.

Snape smiled and took the plate.

"Professor, do you know Santa Claus?"

"Of course I know." After all, he also grew up in the Muggle world, how could he not know?Although he has hardly ever received a gift, he can also see things held in the hands of other children, a new baseball cap bought by his father, a new sweater knit by his mother...

"Santa Claus lives in Finland." Taefa said, "When I was a child, I always wanted to go to the place where Santa Claus lives alone. Unfortunately, now that I have left Finland, my goal cannot be realized."

A nostalgic look appeared on the little girl's face.

"How old were you when you came to England?"

Taefa did not speak with a heavy Nordic accent, nor was she an international student.

"Six years old."

No wonder, it has been a long time since this child left her inner home.

After eating, Taefa suddenly hummed a song that Snape couldn't understand. The rhythm was beautiful, like Finnish.

She stared straight at Snape with her big, clear blue eyes, and Snape had to look at her too.

Taefa is a very beautiful girl, with delicate sculpture-like facial features common to Nordic women. In a few years' time, she would surely be the talk of the boys at Hogwarts.

There was a bitterness in Snape's heart. He was already in his twenties, and as an age to judge the beauty of girls, he was already a little embarrassed. But in his youth, he never seemed to seriously think about this aspect. There is only one person in his heart, and that person fills his heart so much that there is never room for others in his heart. When the school was about to graduate, there was also a female Slytherin classmate in the same grade who offered to show his favor to him because of his talent, but he directly refused in a rude way.

Taefa noticed that Snape was distracted. She stretched out her hand and shook it in front of him, and when he came back to his senses, she immediately suggested: "Professor, I sang a song just now, it's your turn."

"Sing? I don't." Snape immediately refused. He never sang, even if that person asked him to sing when he was a child, he never sang.

"So you're so stupid that you can't even sing?" Taefa smiled again, not at all seeing how sad she was crying just now. "Then you can dance too."

This child has a string of unreasonable demands.

"You can't even dance." Snape stood up and ordered, "I'll take you back to the Ravenclaw dormitory."

"But, it's not yet Christmas Eve!" Taefa hugged the chair, unable to get up. "We should wait until twelve o'clock together...and I'm afraid to go back alone."

Snape looked around, and it was really deserted. There has never been such a deserted time before, this year is strange!

He didn't insist. If Taefa were to go back to the dormitory alone, it would indeed be cruel on this Christmas Eve.

Moreover, in his heart, he also felt that it was good to have someone to accompany him.

Time passed by minute by minute.

Snape sat silently, listening to Taefa's inexplicable questions that popped up from time to time, and only occasionally picked up what could be answered and responded.

It wasn't that he was ruthless, it was just that Taefa's questions were too weird. It was unprecedented for a child of her age to be able to ask them.

"Professor, do you wash your hair once a year?"

"Professor, do you usually sleep in underwear?"

"Professor, do you have athlete's foot?"

"Professor, do you only have black clothes?"

"Professor, how tall do you think Hagrid is?"

"Professor, how long is Headmaster Dumbledore's beard?"

"professor……"

At last Snape could bear it no longer, and interrupted: "Taefer, I think I'd be happier if you could be quieter."

Taefa wisely did not ask any further questions, but took out a book from his schoolbag. "Then I'll read you a story."

Snape was noncommittal, but in his heart he felt that stories were somewhat more comfortable than questions.

Taefa's crisp voice sounded: "Once upon a time there was a centaur with only three legs. One day, he was in a forest with large blue leaves..."

Snape stared at the candlelight in front of him, wondering if it was because Taefa's voice was fluctuating, or he was really tired, and he felt that the flames were gradually blurring in front of his eyes. Then, Taefa's voice became blurred.

The next day, Snape woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside the window. It snowed heavily overnight, and it was not until early morning that the flocks of birds that survived the cold night seized the time to fly to the sky.

Snape opened his eyes, and found that he was still sitting on the chair in the dining room, and he didn't know when he was covered with a blanket. Looking at the patterns, it was from the Ravenclaw dormitory.

"Merry Christmas, Professor!"

Snape turned his head to see Taefa standing behind him with a sandwich in his hand.

"Want breakfast? The elf will bring it right away."

Snape put away the blanket and stood up.After sitting and sleeping all night, when he moved, he immediately felt extremely sore all over.

"You fell asleep last night and missed zero," Taefa said. "It's a pity. I wanted to say Merry Christmas to you first."

"Oh." Snape didn't feel anything, he didn't like Christmas in the first place.

Taefa ate his breakfast in a few bites, turned around and ran away. "I have something for you, you stay here for breakfast, don't go!"

Snape was eating the stewed beans and sausages brought by the elves slowly, when he heard Taefa's footsteps rushing in from outside the door.

"I found materials in the dormitory in the middle of the night last night, and I gave it to you."

"What?" Snape took a small box the size of a fist from Taefa. There was nothing outside the leather-colored box, and he opened it casually.

Inside the carton was a card that was folded in half. Snape took it out and unfolded it.

A little man was drawn on the card—it was him, needless to say.Only this time he was wearing simple clothes, holding a wand in his hand, and the wand was shooting out a spell. The spell was a line connecting the words next to it: Professor, Merry Christmas, Taefa.

Snape stared at the card for a long time before putting it down, and smiled slightly at Taefa.

"Thank you."
