Chapter 25 25. The Response Room

The next day, Thalia woke up naturally from a deep sleep. When she woke up, the hands of the clock were already pointing at 09:30. She immediately jumped out of bed, washed up and rushed to the living room.

However, Sirius did not appear yet. Tahlia picked an armchair and sat down, taking out her wand and waving it casually.

"Tahlia!" The door of the saloon opened, Sirius ran in and handed her a small cloth bag, Tahlia opened it, and there were some pies. "You haven't eaten breakfast yet?"

"Thank you!" Tahlia nodded gratefully, picked up a pie and bit into it. "Where did you go? Where's James?"

"Just now I saw that you went to have breakfast before you got up, but you didn't see James, I think he probably overslept too..." Sirius said. "So I came back first and brought you some pies by the way."

"James still sleeping?" Tahlia thought she was up late enough, but James wasn't up yet either.

"Probably," Sirius said. "I didn't see him in the lobby either."

At this time, there was a sudden commotion in the living room, and whispering voices were everywhere. The two looked at each other for a moment.

"What's the matter?" Tahlia looked curiously at the source of the commotion, and found that it was the entrance of the living room.

"I don't know either." Sirius stood up. "I'll ask." He walked towards there.

After a while, Sirius came back with a dark face. "That idiot James." He said through gritted teeth.

"What happened to him?" Tahlia asked confused.

"He's loitering around the door of our house! A Gryffindor! At the door of Slytherin! How much attention is he trying to get..." Sirius rolled his eyes. "I'm curious how he knows where our entrance is..." He picked up his backpack. "Let's go, I think he will find a way to break in the next second if we don't go out."

Tahlia hurriedly followed Sirius out of the living room, sure enough, as soon as they stepped out, they saw James pacing back and forth in front of them, and when he saw them coming out, he quickly approached. "You finally came out! I have already been looked down upon by many people."

"You know you're being blindsided..." Sirius said angrily. "The students in the entire common room are talking about you, otherwise how would we know you are here!" He dragged James quickly away from the cellar area. "Don't you know that it's very conspicuous that you came directly to the Slytherin territory like this?"

"Of course I do," James said. "But I found something amazing! That's why I'm looking for you in a hurry!"

"What?" Tahlia asked.I am very curious about what kind of incredible thing made James, a Gryffindor, go to the Slytherin sphere of influence alone when he knew the conflict between the two colleges.

"It's hard to say, but you'll know when you get there." James said happily.

They followed James up the eighth floor, very close to Gryffindor Tower.

"Isn't this the last time we found the direction of the secret passage?" Sirius asked. "Is there something serious about that secret path?"

"Of course not!" James said. "...But it's still..."

"I really don't know what you want to express." Sirius said.

"Oh, that's why I said it's hard to explain, but you'll understand when you get there!" Finally, James stopped in front of a big tapestry.

"James," Sirius said. "I think behind this in my memory is the secret passage we found."

"No." James stepped forward to lift the tapestry first, and there was only the wall behind, and nothing else, not even a shadow of the secret passage. "look!"

"How is that possible?" Sirius stepped forward in disbelief. "The secret path is still here for a few days..."

Tahlia looked at them in astonishment. "Are you sure you remember the place correctly?"

"Of course." Sirius said excitedly. "The secret passage was behind this tapestry at that time, I remember it very clearly!" He didn't notice that James started to walk back and forth, muttering words. "But here it is... Hey! What's going on here?" Sirius stared wide-eyed at the wall where the secret passage they discovered last time suddenly appeared.

Tahlia was also surprised to see the door that suddenly appeared.

James smiled triumphantly from the sidelines. "I'd say it's amazing."

"What did you do?" Sirius asked.

"I found out that this is not as simple as a secret passage..." James stepped forward to push the door open, and then closed it again. The door flashed and then disappeared again, and there was no trace of the door on the wall. "Do you still remember the last time we went back and forth here many times trying to find the secret passage?"

"Ah."

"I think at that time we were probably thinking about secret passages, so we triggered this mechanism during the back and forth process, so that he really appeared a secret passage." James explained. "I don't know how it works, but I think this can probably show the space we want in our hearts."

"So I just experimented a few times." James continued. "I thought of a comfortable space in my heart..." He went back and forth about three times, and sure enough, a door appeared on the wall. "And look! The door appeared!"

Sirius opened the door and walked in, and the others followed suit. He stood there in amazement as soon as he entered the room. The view in the room was exactly like his bedroom in James' house.

"This..." Sirius picked up the small thing on the low cabinet beside him. "Shouldn't this be your room?"

"I thought it was." James sat up on the bed. "However, some of my things did not appear here. Probably the castle detected that the comfortable space I thought was my room, so I made a space that met my needs."

Sirius immediately dragged the two out of the room again. "Try me instead!" He wanted a place where he could have a good chat without being disturbed, so he walked back and forth three times, and pushed the door open after it appeared.

"What were you thinking about?" Tahlia asked. The scenery inside the door has several small sofas, surrounded by a small coffee table, which looks very cozy.

"A place where we can have a good chat." Sirius sat down. "So it turns out that what we discovered was not a secret passage."

"No," James said. "But this is better, isn't it?" he said. "Think about it, we can come here for everything in the future! And except for us who know the content of the space, no one else can come in! Isn't it good?"

"Yeah," Tahlia nodded. "I can also come here to do homework or read books. I wonder if I can make this place a space full of books..."

"........."

"...It should be...ok..." James said slowly. "I haven't tried..." It should be said that no one but Tahlia would try that, right?

Watching Tahlia with an expectant expression on his face, Sirius stood up. "Go and try!" As he said, he pulled everyone out again.

Tahlia looked to Sirius, who nodded at her. Tahlia swallowed and started walking back and forth. "I want a place where I can read to my heart's content... a place to read to my heart's content." She whispered.

Then, the door really showed up. Tahlia immediately stepped forward, opened the door and entered.

When Sirius and James walked in, they saw Tahlia flying on the bookshelves, frantically circling them. The two looked at each other, decided not to disturb her, and found a chair to sit down at will.

After a while, Tahlia walked over with a glowing face. "It's amazing here!" she said. "James, you are amazing!"

"This will be our base from now on!" James said excitedly. "I can still bring Remus here, at least it's much better than being looked at by others in other places." Because the two colleges are too conflicted, every time they appear together, they will always receive a lot of suspicious looks.

"Yeah." Tahlia nodded. "Just make an appointment for a stronghold for the four of us... so that everyone can come in at any time." Snape flashed through her mind, but she shook her head immediately. "We'll be able to get together often..."

"Just no entertainment..." Sirius said. "Otherwise you can really stay here all day..." For example, play wizard chess or exploding cards or something...

In an instant, these two things appeared on the table.

"..." Tahlia looked at the things on the table speechlessly. "Sirius, is that you?"

"Uh..." Sirius touched his head, he didn't expect to show up at his request. "But this room is really amazing, isn't it?" Even if they are already in the room, different items can appear at any time according to their needs.

Tahlia nodded, thanks to James for discovering this place, it's much more pleasant than the cellar and library, especially it's so convenient to be responsive. "Call this the Response Room..." she said.

"Yeah." James said, thought for a while, and stood up abruptly. "I'm going to get Remus right now, you guys wait a while." Then he ran out quickly.

Not long after, James walked in with Remus, and Remus opened his mouth wide when he saw such a space, showing a surprised expression. "Merlin, James, how the hell did you find out about this place?" he said.

"It's a long story," James said. "But it was indeed an accident..."

Sirius nodded too. "We thought it was a secret passage or something." He pointed to the wizard chess on the table. "Anyone want a plate?"

In the end, it was Remus who commanded his black pieces to kill Sirius' white pieces. Sirius still looked like he couldn't believe it. It seemed that Remus had frightened him deeply, and Remus smiled brightly.James on the side had also blown up the castle made of cards piled up for the third explosion, and Tahlia was focused on the book from the beginning to the end, completely ignoring the noise of the other three.

Time passed quickly. At noon, Sirius and James volunteered to go to the lobby to bring a lot of food and drinks. They found that although the room was responsive, the food could not be produced. It was a small inconvenience. Perfect, but they are already very satisfied.
