HP Dawn Night

Chapter 93 Professor Lupine

The train stopped at Hogsmeade Station, and everyone rushed out, no one seemed to want to stay on the train after the dementor experience.

"How are you doing there, Malfoy?" Flint called to Draco from a distance, his voice almost drowned in the noise.

"Not bad," Draco replied, pulling up his cloak to shield him from the freezing, bone-chilling rain.

Pansy stomped her feet, "When will we catch a good day when we go back to school!"

Blaise brushed his wet hair back when an owl screeched, "I'm so glad I didn't add a sweater to the cape this time."

"Freshman, this way!"

Hagrid yelled at the freshmen to leave, and they crossed the lake the old-fashioned way.

"Why aren't we with them anymore?" a Ravenclaw girl asked shrillly as we walked through the crowd to the other side of the platform.

"Don't be so stupid! We're going to take the carriage from the third grade." Her companion echoed irritably.

We came to a muddy and rough track where at least a hundred wagons were parked, but the horses pulling the wagons were not in sight.

"Oh, thestrals..." Draco whispered.

We got into a carriage nearby, which was covered with dry straw that gave off a faint musty smell.

"Did you know in advance that there would be dementors?" Blaise shook the water stains on the cloak.

Draco and I shook our heads together.Pansy's face turned pale: "Of course I don't know—but, didn't even Professor Snape say anything, Vio?"

"I haven't seen Dad much all summer." I shook my head, "but I think he's heard about it."

"That's right," Draco said, "my mum made us chocolates before we came to Hogwarts, and I think she should know something about it."

"I don't think dementors should board the train, it's too dangerous - everyone is unprepared for it, and the younger students are not capable of resisting them!" Pansy complained a little angrily.I remembered the description of the dementors and their so-called kiss, and I couldn't help but shudder, and the cold air seemed to seep into my bones.

"I must ask Dad why sometime." I said, "Hogwarts shouldn't have let this happen."

There was a moment of silence in the carriage, and we all looked out the window.

The carriage drove up to two imposing wrought-iron gates flanked by stone pillars topped by winged boar statues. At this time——

"Damn it!" Draco cursed.

Two eerie dementors with hoods floated on either side of the door, the cold and uncomfortable feeling seemed to have returned.

The carriage sped up the long uphill drive to the castle, and I popped another bar of chocolate into my mouth: "I want to talk to Dad and ask him if he can teach me the Patronus Charm."

Blaise retracted his gaze: "The most important thing is, don't tell me that they will appear on the only way to Hogsmeade. I don't want them to spoil my weekend fun."

The carriage wobbled to a halt, and one after another we jumped down, up the stone steps, through the great oak doors, and into the spacious, warm, deep hall.

"Cleaned up! Warm like spring!"

Everyone took out their wands one after another, and the spells played a great role at this time. After using two spells in succession, it really made people feel a lot better.

The auditorium is still the same, thousands of candles are shining brightly, the clean dishes are shining, I look up at the ceiling, the night sky tonight is cloudy.

"There is one thing that will definitely interest you." Crabbe and Goyle sat down on the seat next to Draco, "Potter passed out on the express train?"

"Really?" Draco asked with interest, "Let me take a guess - Dementors!"

Goyle said dully, "Longbottom said Potter was lying on the ground, muttering something."

"The dignified savior would be fainted by a little dementor." Draco sneered, "This is indeed an interesting story."

"Are you going to laugh at Potter for such a trivial matter, Draco?" I was playing with a small spoon, and Draco's face blushed almost imperceptibly:

"Of course not," he said very quickly. "That would be stupid, wouldn't it?"

Blaise and Pansy showed exactly the same expressions, and seemed to be too lazy to pay attention to him.

"You were still enjoying these things a summer vacation ago, what a difference, Draco." Pansy looked at him jokingly, "Vio, you are very good at it."

Blaise showed a wry smile: "Don't tell me that I will lose the opportunity to watch Draco provoke Potter in the future."

"That's not going to happen." I put down the small spoon, "It's hard to change the nature of the country, I'm afraid Draco won't be able to hold on for a few days, and he will repeat his old mistakes."

Blaise and Pansy snickered undisguisedly, and Draco looked at me angrily, but unfortunately, before he could say anything, Dumbledore stood up to speak. He had to stop talking.

"Welcome! Welcome back to Hogwarts! I have a few things to tell you all, and one of them is very important, so I thought it would be best to tell you all before you enjoy your delicious meal and get confused. Make it clear..."

By this time, Crabbe had involuntarily reached for a drumstick and put it on his plate.

"Our school is currently welcoming several dementors from Azkaban. They are sent by the Ministry of Magic to perform official duties. I think you all know this, because they searched the Hogwarts Express train."

"Dumbledore doesn't seem very happy," Pansy whispered.

"Understandable," said Blaise, "after all Hogwarts is not actually under the Ministry of Magic."

"...on a more pleasant subject. I'm delighted to welcome two new teachers to our line-up this term. First, Professor Lupine, who has kindly agreed to fill the Defense Against the Dark Arts class."

There was sparse applause in the auditorium, and there was a particularly clear applause from Gryffindor.Professor Lupine had light brown hair that was a little grizzled, and he looked young, but he was thin and haggard. Also, the patched robes clearly tell us that his life is not going well.

"So, Professor Snape failed again in his application for the teaching position of Defense Against the Dark Arts?" Pansy sighed.I shrugged:

"He should be used to it..."

In other news, Hagrid has become the new Care of Magical Creatures teacher.

The four of us exchanged a look of sympathy.I don't know what Hagrid taught, but I immediately thought of that crazy textbook.

"Okay, there are so many important things, let's have a banquet!"

This year's Slytherin freshmen were as few as ever, and there were no outstanding figures among them. For what it's worth, Astoria Greengrass has clearly emerged as a central figure among the sophomores, overshadowing her older sister, Daphne Greengrass, who sits beside her.

Millicent Burst was as taciturn as ever, but her appetite seemed to be good, and she seemed not to be affected by the mood of her friend Daphne.

"What do you think about our third grade?" Pansy asked.

"It didn't start very well, but I hope the ending can be justified." Blaise raised his glass full of pumpkin juice, "Here, to the third grade!"
