HP Dawn Night
Chapter 81 Visiting Pansy
Compared with last year, today's summer vacation is simply refreshing.
As soon as Pansy got home, she wrote to invite me to stay with her for a while, and my mother agreed readily.
"Why did you say yes so easily?" I asked my mother.
She said lightly: "You have grown up, Vio, I don't think you need to be strictly supervised anymore, and your demands are not excessive."
Parkinson's Manor is in the southeast of England, and my mother took me to apparate there. The visitors to the manor reminded us that we didn't have to wait too long before we saw the Parkinson family in a hurry.Even though I hadn't seen her for a few days, I still gave Pansy a big hug:
"Hi honey."
Pansy hugged me equally eagerly: "It's very kind of you to come. Hello, Aunt Margaret, long time no see!"
After I said hello to Mr. and Mrs. Parkinson, my mother said to Mrs. Parkinson: "Then please take care of Vio for a while, and I will pick her up in a week."
Mrs. Parkinson replied politely: "Of course, please rest assured."
Mum then politely declined Mrs Parkinson's invitation for a cup of tea, but immediately Apparated home.
"Leave them alone." Pansy dragged me to her room. The Parkinson family didn't seem to have a particularly hot time.Even Mr. Parkinson's attitude towards Pansy is cold and indifferent, which is very different from his behavior when he came to visit Pansy who was petrified.
Pansy's room is dominated by pink, and the attentive house elf has already prepared rose tea.Pansy and I sat across from each other in two armchairs.
"Are you curious about the way our family gets along?" Pansy took a sip of tea sullenly, and put the teacup back on the coffee table wearily, "It's always been like this."
I looked at the well-manicured courtyard outside the window, and it took a while before I said: "But your father's school hospital is not like this."
Pansy raised one eyebrow: "Oh?"
"He looks worried about you." I shrugged, after thinking about it, I decided to say the whole thing, "He wants to spend more time with you, but—"
"My mother insisted on going, didn't she?"
It's a good guess.I was speechless, and Pansy sneered, "You don't have to cover up for them, Vio, it's always been like this. I'm used to it."
Pansy picked up the teacup again, took a sip, and patted the armrest of the armchair: "What do you think of the decoration in my room?"
Hearing this, I raised my head and took a serious look. Pansy's room can easily make people feel dizzy, because it is full of crystals, pearls and lace.
"Hmm..." I thought about finding the best adjective, and Pansy smiled:
"Disgusting? Pretentious? Dizzy? You know what, I've lived in a room like this for 13 years and I'm going to throw up."
Pansy seemed a little sharp and aggressive now, and I wisely kept silent.
"Would you like to hear it, Vio?" she sighed, her eyes dimming.I observed the situation and nodded slightly:
"if you are willing to."
Who would have thought that Pansy actually gave a wry smile: "Don't laugh at me, Vio. I have lived in such an environment as long as I can remember, and received their stupid education. But when I really investigated, I found that I don't really know anything. The story of my parents and my family and why they did it. Sometimes I feel like they're a stranger to me, even... even I feel like they're almost... sorry . . . almost hated, loathed me. I—”
"Don't be like this, Pansy." I frowned, leaned over to check my friend's expression, but found that there was nothing I could do to comfort her.
Pansy looked down, hair covering her face. After a while, she looked up at me: "Vio, do you know of any pure-blood families that have Muggle books?"
"Uh..." I was taken aback, "There are quite a few. But it's usually Muggle fairy tales, the kind to coax children."
"What if it's a Muggle romance novel?" Pansy covered her face with her hands. "I don't want to live here, Vio, I think I'm going crazy!" Involuntarily slipped from the chair to the floor.
I reached out to grab her and drag her onto the chair. Then he handed her a handkerchief. In my memory, Pansy has never lost her composure like this. She has always been tall and beautiful and strong, like an unsheathed sword or a magic wand against the opponent's chest.Pansy is invincible.I've always thought that, and we've all always thought that.
But now, looking at the crying girl in front of me, I can't imagine what happened in Parkinson's Manor to make Pansy like this.
"Okay, Pansy," I tried to persuade, "you might as well calm down, I'm here."
It took a lot of effort for Pansy to calm down.
"My mother is reading Muggle novels," she said intermittently, breathing heavily, "I don't understand...Vio, I can't explain...I always feel that there are many secrets in Parkinson's Manor, but I None of them know..."
"Maybe your mother is just curious and wants to see it." I sighed, trying to reassure Pansy. But she screamed and choked:
"No, Vio. They don't care about me or each other. I don't know..."
"Are they the kind of people who are not good at expressing emotions?" I comforted. "It's possible, isn't it?"
"Maybe—" Pansy slowly regained her composure, "They are very indifferent to everyone, maybe this is their character, isn't it." She found a good reason for herself: "Forget it, Vio , just pretend I haven't said anything. Would you like a piece of cherry cake?"
Pansy got up and went to the bathroom to freshen up. When she came out, I could hardly find any expression of frustration or loss on her face.Pansy became invulnerable again, as if the brief gaffe just now had never happened before.
