HP Dawn Night

Chapter 73 Curiosity

In a Potions class not long afterward, Potter and Weasley sat right behind me.After Pansy went to the hospital, I was alone - there were only three girls left in Slytherin - but it made it easier for me to talk to Potter.

"Potter," I said as I let the medicine boil in the cauldron, turning to talk to Potter, "what did Granger go to the library to look up the morning they were attacked?"

"It's none of your business—" Weasley said grimly at me.The attack on Pansy and Granger together seems to be a signal, at least that we will not be the attackers.

"I don't know," Potter replied. "She just said she thought of something."

I sighed in my heart, Potter obviously hadn't let go of his guard, and I tried to persuade: "If you are willing to provide me with some information, I think I can find out what the monster in the castle is. In that case, Hogwarts will Peace of mind can be restored."

"What nonsense are you talking about!" Weasley threw the cauldron spoon on the table angrily, "Malfoy made Dumbledore and Hagrid leave. Do you think we will believe you?"

"Weasley," I said resignedly, "I did a good job of not telling you about using Polyjuice Potion to enter the Slytherin lounge."

"You don't have any proof!" Weasley blushed and tried to defend himself.I was angry and funny, so I had to say with a pleasing face:

"Yeah yeah. But if you have a problem there, I'd be more than happy to solve it for you—maybe we can make an exchange, you tell me what breakthrough you have against attackers, and I tell You have some other news."

"Okay, so do you know why Harry is Parseltongue?" Weasley asked cheerfully, as if sure I didn't know.

"You've got enough wonders and mysteries in you as the Boy Who Lived, Potter," I said, "I can only guess that you're either heir of Slytherin, or that you got This ability."

"Harry is not the heir of Slytherin!" Weasley explained anxiously for him.

"Okay well, I know, I'm just guessing," I said impatiently, "it's your turn, Potter."

"Uh... all we know is... that monster is moving inside the wall." Potter stammered, "don't ask us why we know."

"Ah, okay." I nodded, and decided to go to the library to check after class, "Thank you."

"Wait a minute!" Weasley yelled suddenly, and I turned my head curiously, "Do you know what's in the Forbidden Forest?"

I gave him a surprised look. "Magical creatures? Maybe. But I've lost interest in the Forbidden Forest after that unpleasant stint in first year."

For some reason, Weasley looked very unhappy.

After Potions class was over, I was the first to rush out of the classroom, followed by Draco and Blaise: "Wait a minute, Vio!"

"I see!" I lowered my voice excitedly, "Potter said that monster was moving in the wall. I have to go to the library and look it up."

"Vio, you're looking more and more like Granger now." Draco and Blaise chased after him helplessly.

The library was deserted, and under the watchful eyes of Mrs. Pince, I found a few books that I thought might be useful. To be honest, my hands are almost blank now, but I know more things anyway.

Draco and Blaise helped me find it in the book.

"Violet, I think we have to change our method." Blaise rubbed his eyes, "This is not the way to go."

"The Encyclopedia of Fantastic Beasts", "Encyclopedia of Fantastic Beasts", "Great Discoveries of Modern Magic", and "Modern History of Magic: Creatures" all had no results.I buried my head in the book, feeling more depressed than ever.

"Look, Vio, here's a book that might be useful." Draco pointed to a book on the bibliography behind a book, and Blaise and I leaned over to read:

"Natural History"

"I don't think I've seen it in the library." I thought for a while, "It should be in the X zone."

"How do you get it?" Blaise asked.

"Oh," I said, "this couldn't be easier."

For the next Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Lockhart hopped into the classroom. This came as a surprise to everyone, considering that every other teacher in the school was looking more serious than usual at the moment, but Lockhart looked relaxed and happy.

"Well, well," he said, looking around beamingly, "why are you all so long-faced?"

Everyone exchanged angry glances, and they all cursed this ignorant guy in their hearts, and no one answered Lockhart's words.

"Didn't you find out?" Lockhart said, pretending to slow down his speech, as if we were all born with a slow brain response, "The danger is over! The criminal has been taken away!"

"Who said that?" cried Dean Thomas of Gryffindor.

"My dear young man, the Minister of Magic wouldn't have taken Hagrid away if he hadn't been [-] per cent convinced Hagrid was guilty," said Lockhart, sounding like he was explaining to someone that one plus one equals two .

"Oh, that's not necessarily it," said Ron Weasley, louder.

"I'm confident I know a little more about the truth about Hagrid's arrest than you do, Mr Weasley," said Lockhart in a smug tone.

Weasley was about to say something more, but Potter kicked him.

I looked at the empty space next to me that originally belonged to Pansy, and then looked up at Lockhart who was completely living in his own world, thinking that this might be a feasible idea.

After the bell rang, I deliberately procrastinated until everyone else had left the classroom before I went up to Lockhart with a note I had already written.

"Mr. Lockhart," I said, "I've re-read your story about banishing vampires. I thought that if I read the bibliography, it might help me—well—for example to get to know your stories better. A marvelous adventure and, I have to say, a miracle!"

Draco and Blaise were waiting for me at the door, and I nervously waited for Lockhart's answer.

"Ah, that's not bad, I subdued it easily, didn't I?" Lockhart said happily, "There are many teachers who praise you and think that you have inherited your parents' magical talents, but I have to mention that whether it is Si Professor Nepe or Margaret are a little bit worse than me, aren't they?"

"..." I was so angry that I wanted to hit him, but finally held back, "Actually, I quite admire your unique adventures."

"Yes, yes," Lockhart signed a cursive letter on the parchment with a fancy peacock quill, and I doubt he knew what book I was borrowing. I learned a lot from the book, didn’t I.”

He gave me what he thought was a charming smile, and I maintained a smirk, almost frozen.

"Got it!" I walked out of the classroom and waved the note in my hand to Draco and Blaise, "It's that easy, Lockhart has no brains."

After returning to the library, I immediately found Mrs. Pince.

"Mrs. Pince, I would like to borrow this book for Defense Against the Dark Arts. It is signed by Professor Gilderoy Lockhart—"

Just as Mrs. Pince was holding up the note to examine it carefully, a voice sounded faintly behind me:

"what book?"

I shivered and turned around to see my father standing behind me expressionlessly.

"Ah—it's nothing!" I tried my best to make up a reasonable excuse, "It's just a...uh..." Dad didn't wait for me to finish, he reached out and took my note from Mrs. Pince.

""Natural History"?" He read the words on it slowly, "I don't remember that second graders need to use this book to study."

"Dad," I bit the bullet and lied, "I want to learn ahead of time."

"Irma, I want to have a good chat with this curious student." Dad gestured to Mrs. Pince. Now it's just the two of us face to face.

I continued to make up the lie: "...Professor Lockhart is very interested in the experience of vampires, so-"

"You want to know something else." Dad pointedly pointed out my lie. "Based on your past performance and the farce at the end of last semester, I don't think you are suitable to save Hogwarts like the savior." tz."

"..."

"So go back to the common room right now. If I find out that you cheated the professor's signature to check some strange things again, I will be more than happy to let you go to the Forbidden Forest for a few detentions." Dad said bluntly threatened.

The Forbidden Forest... I shivered a bit: "Okay, okay."
