HP Dawn Night

Chapter 181 The Prefect's Box

Mum took us to King's Cross the next day, she seemed to have come back late the day before, and this morning her face was clearly marked by sleep deprivation.

"You go first, Vio," my mother told me at the fence, "Pansy, I'm with you."

I trotted across the wall pushing the stroller, but Mom and Pansy didn't come over right away.I didn't want to go forward alone, so I moved the cart to the side so that it would not be in the way.

The platform was crowded with farewell students and their families. I didn't see a familiar figure, so I looked back at the wall again, only to see Potter coming out of it pushing the cart, followed by him. A big black dog, and on the other side of the big dog was a dumpy red-haired woman - Mrs Weasley, if I remember correctly.

"Er—hi!" Potter hadn't expected to meet me face to face.

"Hi, Potter." I nodded to him, noticing that the big dog seemed to be looking at me, but do dogs stare at people?

"You're... we met, a long time ago, in Diagon Alley - how's it going lately?" Mrs Weasley seemed as unsure as Potter about what to call me.

"It's not bad. I hope you are doing well recently." After saying this, we fell into a complete silence.Looks like they're waiting for someone too.

Thankfully the embarrassment didn't last long, as Mom and Pansy came through the wall in no time.

"Vio, it's a good thing you didn't run around." Mom walked up to me, "Oh, this is..." She noticed Mrs. Weasley and Potter beside her, and after being startled for a moment, she quickly smiled, "Hello, Mrs. Weasley. Hello, Harry. Just call me Margaret."

Mom was probably a warm and friendly Slytherin, and her attitude made both Mrs. Weasley and Potter relax a lot.

"This is Pansy Parkinson, she is temporarily staying at our house." Mom briefly introduced Mrs. Weasley. Then her eyes swept to the black dog beside her.

I don’t know if it’s because my eyes were dazzled, but my mother’s expression went through several complex but rapid changes in an instant. She concealed it very well, but her eyes still widened subconsciously, betraying her inner astonishment. The black dog leaned down slightly, looked at my mother, and let out a slight growl, I'm not sure... Is that the behavior a dog should have.

"That's a nice dog, Potter," she complimented with a smile, then looked away. "Do you want to go up there now?" she asked us.

"Let's move the luggage first." I said.

Pansy and I made a few trips to get our luggage into the box we used to sit in, and on my last trip, I saw Moody appear out of nowhere, limping towards us.Not far behind were Ron, Hermione, and Mr. Weasley, all pushing their trolleys.

After loading everything into the car, I went back to Mum when Ron and Hermione started moving their own stuff too, which was an embarrassing feeling.

"Let's go up now, maybe Draco and Blaise are already here." Pansy grabbed my hand, and I think the reason for her rush is that she saw Lupine leading the remaining Weasley children away come over.

"Goodbye, Mom." I asked her to give me a parting kiss as usual, but she just stroked her hair absently, and then looked directly at Lupine who was getting closer:

"haven't seen you for a long time."

How is this going?I didn't know my mother knew Lupine well.I opened my mouth wide.Pansy grabbed me and said, "Let's go, get in the car."

She dragged me into the car without looking back.

"What's going on?" I looked at the people on the platform from the window. Mom and Lupine walked to a corner to talk, while others were loading things onto the train. The black dog looked at Lupine for a while, and circled around Potter's feet.

"It's normal for your mother and Lupine to know each other." Pansy was not surprised by this, "Don't forget that they are in the same class."

I still find it hard to believe that Mom and Professor Lupine have any special friendship.

"Hey, your Draco is here." Pansy knocked on the car window, the Malfoys were passing by the Weasleys, Draco had already seen us, and was waving to Pansy and me; Aunt Sha nodded to Mom from afar; while Uncle Lucius glanced at the Weasleys, his eyes resting on the black dog for a moment.

"Wonder when Blaise will come," I said.Draco had said goodbye to Mom and Dad, and my mom had finished her conversation with Lupin, and she was walking towards Aunt Narcissa.

"Guess what I got!" Draco opened the box door and walked in. He asked us with a smug face.

"Prefect badge." Pansy poked him mercilessly, and pointed at me. "The other one was taken by Vio."

"Supposedly." Draco put the box on the shelf and winked at me, "We seem to have a meeting in the prefect's car later."

"I don't know what to say." I couldn't help but look forward to it, anyway, becoming a prefect is a rare honor.I haven't had time to write a letter to tell Dad the news, but I think he should already know, after all, he is the dean.

Draco's attention was attracted by Pansy's new hairstyle: "This is... Pansy, what stimulated you?"

Pan Xi gave him a blank look: "You really don't know how to appreciate."

"It's called gender-neutral messy beauty," I interjected, and Draco shrugged.Pansy smiled contentedly: "We still understand me."

That's when the train whistled for the last time, which meant we were about to leave.Draco and I changed into our school robes and prepared to head to the prefect's carriage.

"Am I late?" The door of the box was slammed open, and Blaise rushed in, "There was a large group of people in the corridor just now talking about Potter - your new hairstyle? Really, not for you."

After being hit by two opposite sexes one after another, Pan Xi probably also doubted our aesthetics: "Is it that bad?"

Blaise explained with a serious face: "This hairstyle makes you look a lot older. How should I put it, it's more inconsistent. I think your original hairstyle is very good."

I stared at Blaise dumbfounded. Pansy's hairstyle is obviously very good, which makes people's eyes shine. At this moment Draco winked at me out of Pansy's sight, and I looked at them without knowing it, and decided not to speak for the time being.

"I don't think you should have curly hair. You had a cool hairstyle in France, but now it looks a little silly. But it's okay, I think your hair will grow soon." Blaise said eloquently Talking, Pansy seems to have been trapped, she is listening carefully, nodding from time to time.

I decided to ask Draco what was going on: "Draco, I think we should go to the prefect's box."

"Oh, congratulations to both of you on getting your badges," Blaise told us. "That's the logical thing to do, isn't it?"

I shook my head helplessly: "Everyone says that."

"Don't be unconfident, there is no better candidate than you in Slytherin, Violet." After finishing this sentence, Blaise turned back to chat with Pansy about another topic, "In August I went to Scotland..."

I closed the door and walked down the corridor with Draco.

"What's up with Blaise?" I asked.

Draco didn't speak for a moment, and after a while, he hesitated and said: "Brace must have no malice... In fact, he is doing it for Pansy's own good. Do you think Hogwarts would allow such an eye-catching hairstyle? ?”

I thought about how Hogwarts students generally dress at school, and Dad's personal style.I have to admit that what Draco said is correct: "Bracey just wanted to find an excuse to persuade Pansy to change that hairstyle?" I couldn't help smiling, "His reason is very good, and I will help Pansy get it back. "

"That's good." Draco seemed relieved, he took my hand, "Tell me about what you've done since you returned from France."

"Do homework, read books, do experiments, practice Quidditch, um, pass the time with Pansy." I recalled it carefully and reported it truthfully.

"Your life is too same." Draco showed a disappointed look, I looked at him puzzled, "Guess what I do most every day?"

"What?" I asked casually.

"Of course I miss you." He continued this sentence confidently.I was choked immediately, fortunately, the prefect's box had already appeared in my line of sight, I pointed, and logically avoided answering his words:

"Cough... it's already here, we may be a little late, let's go in quickly."

There were already six people in the box - Head Boys and Girls (both seventh year students we didn't know), Ernie MacMillan and Hannah Abbott of Hufflepuff, and Anthony Goblin of Ravenclaw. Destin and Padma Patil.

Of these I only knew Goldstein from Ravenclaw because he dated Pansy. The remaining three prefects are just acquainted.

"The two prefects of Slytherin, Violet Snape and Draco Malfoy?" The male chairman gestured for us to sit next to the two Ravenclaws, "there are still Gryffindors left. Two, I hope they can be faster."

While speaking, the door was opened again.

"Sorry, we seem to be—" Granger paused when she saw Draco and me, and then she took a deep breath and finished fluently, "It's late."

Oddly enough, the prefect of Gryffindor wasn't Potter but Weasley, who only glanced at us as we entered the door, then treated us more or less like nothing but air.

"It's okay, please sit down, both of you." The chairwoman asked them to sit across from us, next to Hufflepuff.

Granger and Weasley sat down across from us, and we all looked in unison at the Chairman rather than the man across from us.

The male chairman cleared his throat and unfolded a piece of parchment: "Today is mainly to explain your future work, and let you get acquainted with each other by the way—for better cooperation."

That's out of the question for us and Granger and Weasley, because we don't want any cooperation with them at all.

The two chairmen told us what we need to do, the more important thing is to patrol the corridors; if we see someone violating the school rules, we must punish him in time; when there are some special situations in the school, we must assist the dean to manage the students well .

The rest of the time is for us to "get to know" each other.Goldstein and I said a quick hello, and then we chatted with Parvati. She confided to me that she and Weasley were partners at the Yule Ball, which she wasn't too happy with, because Weasley didn't want to dance with her or take the time to chat with her or anything.

Draco talked to McMillan and Goldstein separately for a while.Granger and Weasley had a good chat with Hannah Abbott. All in all, if the two chairmen hoped to make Slytherin and Gryffindor chat happily, they had to spend a little more time.

"Ah, one last reminder to you - you have a very important task on the first day of school every year: to help new students find their way. You need to take them to the common room after dinner, give them the password, and remind them Regarding matters such as curfew and password change.” At the end of our chat, the chairwoman reminded, “If you are unclear about your work, you can come to us for help.”

The prefects returned to their compartments, and Draco and I deliberately got out of the prefects' car before Granger and Weasley - to avoid unnecessary embarrassment.
