HP Dawn Night
Chapter 159 Consolation
Someone came to my bed.
I closed my eyes, not prepared to give any response.
Someone came and opened my bed curtain.
"Draco asked me to tell you that Professor Snape is upset because someone stole an ingredient from his office tonight."
It's Pansy.
She stood there quietly for a while, waiting for my answer. But I don't move.
"And Warrington," there was a trace of anger in her tone, "he's just a mindless troll, don't... mind what he said."
I held my breath, refusing to tell her in any way that I heard it.
"Vio, you..." Her hesitation finally turned into a sigh. She lowered my curtains, and I heard her go back to her bed, lie down, and draw the curtains.
I opened my eyes and looked at the endless darkness in front of me.
A riddle I've been puzzling me for years is finally being asked, and I've almost got a default answer. But that didn't make me feel relieved or happy.
Instead, it's more pain.
The sound of long and even breathing came.I quietly got up and put on my dressing gown. This night was destined to be a sleepless night for me.
The temperature in the common room has cooled down a bit.The fire in the fireplace was dying out.The living room was empty and silent. That's fine, I don't want anyone to bother me.I'm afraid I'm not in the mood to deal with anything else tonight.
The flame finally completely disappeared.
I moved my stiff fingers, and the quill drew a twisted arc on the parchment.I tore it off and crumpled it up, and started to collect scattered thoughts.I'm not so much thinking as I'm emptying out, my brain can barely function, let alone think about anything.
"Mother:
It is very late when I write this letter. There wasn't even a spark in the fireplace anymore. It was so cold in the common room that my ink was almost frozen. "
I stop writing.
How should I describe what happened that night?Shall I just retell my argument with my dad exactly?I regretted and found out slowly that after this incident, I am afraid that my father will blame my mother. No matter what their original relationship was, even if they were walking on thin ice, that layer of ice would probably shatter now.
"I did something stupid today, Mom, I said things I shouldn't have said. I said things I should have known. He was angry - and rightfully so.
Many, many years ago, I asked you, I asked you who my father was and why he never came to see me.You answer me, dad is busy so he doesn't have time to come, but he loves me very much.I think you probably lied about the second half of the sentence.I didn't realize until today that maybe I was a part of my father's—"
I stopped writing again.
"I hope I didn't bother you."
Blaise sat down on the sofa across from me in a dark green dressing gown.
"At this time," I looked up at the clock on the wall, "I thought you should be asleep."
"I thought of something else tonight." He hesitated. "Have you and Professor Snape...argued?"
"You guessed it." I was not surprised.Blaise is quite possibly the smartest and best mind reader among us.
"I can guess a little from your behavior before you left and what Draco said when you came back." He said softly, his eyes cast on his fingertips, "Do you know my story, Violet?"
I never imagined that I would be listening to Brace talking about his family in such an exceptional situation. His upbringing, his mother, and her seven husbands.
"My mother and I have always had a very cold relationship," Blaise said in a derisive tone. "Ironically, she seems to have a lot of love for my father."
"Her surname has always been named after your father." I racked my brains to come up with such a harmless sentence.
"One thing I found interesting," Blaise said with a fake smile, "is that there are so many similarities between your family and mine. It's funny how we can see each other's problems so clearly, but in our own There is no solution to the problem.”
I looked at him hesitantly. And he just smiled deeply.
"Excuse me, Violet," Blaise stood up and bowed slightly to me, "I think I have to go back to my dorm to rest. Good night."
"Good night."
I stared blankly at the letter paper with dried ink marks in front of me.
Then tore it off and rolled it into a ball of paper.
The next day I woke up on time as always, and to cover up the sleepless night, I hid in the bathroom and cast myself a few radiant charms.
Thankfully, all three of my close friends have decided to keep their mouths shut about what happened last night. This made me feel a little bit better.
"Coffee?"
"Thanks, Blaise." I accepted his offer.
"Did you not sleep last night?" Pansy couldn't help asking worriedly, staring at my every move.I picked up my coffee cup and drank it down:
"Just to clear my head. Like Moody said—stay alert!" I said, slapping the table.
Pansy smiled and shook her head.
"Hagrid's back!" Daphne, sitting on Pansy's other side, suddenly called out.
"Oh, no!" Pansy wailed dejectedly.
I carefully avoided the figure that was difficult to ignore on the teacher's seat: "This means that we have to go back to the classroom mode at the beginning."
However, Hagrid made some changes today.
He has brought two unicorn pups! The pure gold one!
"My Merlin!" Pansy's eyes sparkled, and Daphne couldn't seem to take her eyes off them.
"He's probably trying to make up for the snails," I said.
"Maybe it's because there are only two squirrels left." Draco pointed to the place where the snails used to live - their cannibalism led to a sharp drop in numbers.
The unicorn cubs are not so wary, and even boys can feed them sugar cubes.
"This feeling is quite good." Draco stretched out his hand, and a little unicorn was licking his palm, "Are you okay?"
"It's okay." I patted the unicorn's little head, "My willpower is not that weak, Draco. I think he just needs some time to slow down..." As I said, I was depressed Pause, "I mean, if he can figure it out."
"What are you worried about, Vio?" Draco looked sideways at me.I stared down at the tip of my shoe in shame:
"I said something I shouldn't have said. Actually, I should have apologized... No, the fault can't be entirely my fault." I said incoherently, "It's just—actually, it would be better if I apologized. But I I am not willing to be the one who bows first, nor do I want to continue in such a stalemate."
Draco withdrew his hand slowly, and took out a handkerchief from the wand to wipe his hands: "Although I don't understand what conflicts have arisen between you, I agree with you. The godfather should just need time to get over the hurdle in his heart." .”
"Aren't you curious?" We moved away from the crowd a little, making the conversation less restrained.
"Sometimes the specific answer is not that important." Draco said, "I also know the godfather, he is always easy to set a boundary for himself, and it is easy to impose some prejudices. Give him some time to think about it." , he will always understand."
I couldn't help sighing: "I know, but it's not that easy to do. As you know, he's the head of my house, and I have to take his Potions class..."
"Then forget for a moment that he's your father, he's just Professor Snape." Draco said resolutely.
I gave him a half-surprised and half-approving look: "You are much better than me in terms of understanding the world."
"It's not like that." He shook his head quite neatly and denied, "The authorities are obsessed with the bystanders, it's the same reason. Besides, you're not only giving him time, you're also giving yourself time."
I looked up at him thoughtfully, Draco's expression fluctuated, and softened: "Your behavior last night made me very disturbed. Promise me not to make yourself sad again, your unhappiness will make me feel sad." I feel the same pain."
"Okay." I leaned my head on his shoulder obediently.
