Resident Evil Redemption

Chapter 10 Night falls

He removed the jug from its strap, and Shrine finally stopped him from unscrewing it.

"You really want to waste water?" Shrine said with difficulty.

"I didn't." Wesker said firmly, and Shrine rolled her eyes, she knew he was implying "you're an idiot." Wesker took off the gloves, rinsed the wound, and carefully wrapped the wound with the remaining cloth. He tore off the end and tied a knot.

Shrine carefully looked down at the treated wound as Wesker put the leather gloves back on his fingers.

"Cap, I can walk..." Shrine leaned on the rock beside him to prop up his body, wanting to prove what he said was true.Even if the bones of the whole body are aching all over.

"At nightfall." Needless to say, Wesker had no intention of arguing. Shrine carefully readjusted his posture and slid back down.Shit, he was right.

It wasn't until after sunset that Shrine realized she was still wearing Wesker's sunglasses. He still looked weird without the shadows and edges that were supposed to disappear.Even from the side. Something deep inside Shrine twitched that she couldn't identify.Perhaps it was curiosity, which drove her to raise her hand to take off her sunglasses.

Wesker looked at her, Shrine still couldn't tell the color of his eyes in the darkness.

She raised her sunglasses and wanted to pass them to the other party. But Wesker didn't move, so, contrary to what she expected, she snapped it back carefully where it belonged, pushing it upward until his face became familiar again.

As the night falls in early winter, even though the day is unbearably warm, the night is still mercilessly cold. The excessive blood loss during the day was even more unbearable for Shrine. She began to tremble slightly, feeling that she was tightly hugged from behind by the icy cold hands of the god of death, unable to break free.

He sat beside her until the dark night sky was so beautifully dotted with stars. Shrine tried to climb up, trying to look up at the sky, ignoring the fact that she was about to freeze to death, and a lot of her messy blond hair got tangled in the dry bark, which made her hiss again.

"Can you move?" Wesker looked at her.

"Cough..." She wanted to say something, but she was suddenly knocked back by her own cough.Just shook his head helplessly.

"..." Wesker stood up and walked into the depths of the woods.

"Come back!" Shrine stared at his leaving back with wide eyes, panicked. She was afraid that he would leave her as a burden and leave by himself, in that case, she would really die here.

"Stay here and don't move." Wesker's tone sounded more like an order. An order from the captain.

Shrine looked at him, didn't speak, and she didn't have the strength to argue with him anymore.Whether he stays or leaves is his choice, and she can't stop anything.Everyone is selfish, no matter what their status is.

"What do you think I'm going to do?" Wesker came back a few minutes later, starting a fire with a dead twig he found, and the flames had managed to dance in front of her.

"It's nothing..." Shrine felt ashamed and embarrassed about what he had thought just now, his eyes dodged, and he didn't want to look at him again.

"What do I mean to you?" Wesker walked over to sit next to her, still looking strange in the profile of his face in the light of the fire.

"Captain..." Shrine just looked at the dancing flames, feeling that all the objects in front of him were dancing with the flames. She tried blinking, but nothing changed.

"Yes." Wesker looked at her.He has already noticed that something is wrong with her.

"What should the captain do?" He's not good at talking too much to people, but now he has to.

"Let the injured team member next to you sleep for a while..." Shrine's voice became a little hoarse, her eyelids kept fighting, and she seemed to be floating... Now she just wants to sleep.

"..." He turned his head to look at Huo Huo, feeling that he had failed, he had never encountered such a situation, and he had no idea what else to say.

She lowered her head and looked completely dead.It seems to have given up on itself.

The crackling sound of the dancing flames was pleasant to the ears in the silent night.

"Shrine, don't sleep..." These were the last words she could hear clearly from him.
