Chapter 07 A Terrible Little Family
It was too early to get up and act, the sun was barely visible behind the shadow of the tree, and all Kurapika could see was a pale orange outline in the east. For the past few nights, he hasn't slept well—only a few minutes of sleep, trying his best to stay awake, but his consciousness is blank.Kurapika felt a little shaky, he knew he wasn't as heavily guarded as the enemy, he was too exhausted to defend himself anymore.
Kurapika knew he should sleep for a while, but he couldn't.He just couldn't sleep.Every night, the spider leader would sleep next to him, his bed just a few meters away from Kurapika's.In the dark, the Kuruta Orphan fantasized about crazy things, plotting to banish this demonic man from this world forever, but in the end, he knew he couldn't.If he gets out of bed, the spider leader will wake up and immediately "dispose of mercy" on him.Likewise, there are many eyeliners among the spiders, so Kurapika chooses to lie down and dream lucidly, dreaming of his unattainable vengeance.
No rescue -- that's what he's been doing for nearly a week since he was captured, and his shoulder is hurting like hell. Also, there are those ghosts -- both Paknotan and Wojin like to visit him, night and night, and it's a wonder Kurapika thinks he's not crazy.
Some members of the Phantom Troupe opened, and only their leader, the woman, and the overly friendly young technician stayed with him, but they all went outside to watch others go.Kurapika stood by, resisting the wall they'd leaned against the previous nights. It wasn't important to Kurapika to watch others go, but the Spider Chief wouldn't let him turn his gaze away. When Kurapika heard some heavy footsteps coming in his direction, he opened his eyes and saw Franklin thinking and staring at him.The man as tall as a mountain looked at Kurapika for a while, then reached out to him with his right hand ----- Kurapika tensed up, everything in his body was preparing to attack, but the big man only pushed him His hand fell heavily on the blond boy's head, and he patted him several times. "You'll be all right," he said, and turned away.
Kurapika stared at Franklin following a small sadistic man and a guy with no eyebrows.Orphan Kuruta was completely dumbfounded, he noticed that the spider leader was looking at him out of the corner of his eye, showing a small smile, and Kurapika immediately glared back and looked elsewhere, the whole process was really annoying.
"A cup of coffee is enough for me," Kuroro said, his voice was steady, without traces of sarcasm: "What about you?"
Kurapika looked back at him, feeling a little confused, and Kuroro Lucifero stared at the boy with black eyes, expecting an answer.Kurapika shrugged, "Okay." He replied sullenly.Kuroro gave a satisfied smile and walked back, and the next weird scene happened--the spiders and Kurapika both started to drink coffee, and they looked like some kind of terrible little family now .Kurapika taunted softly in his heart, and the three pairs of eyes turned to him immediately, making his nerves tense up immediately.
"What made you laugh, Kurapika?" the spider boss asked, and it sounded like a sting to Kurapika----Kuroro is indeed a person who doesn't want Kurapika to be quiet Come down asshole.
"It's okay," Kurapika replied, and took a few sips of coffee quietly, but the man was still staring at Kurapika with his big, black eyes. The silence was too thick, and Kurolo Lucifero was still waiting for the answer. "It's just—" Kurapika said, looking away. "Drinking coffee like this, it's like we're all normal people. To the onlookers, we seem like some kind of weird family." He half expected them to disapprove of him or laugh at him.He thought it was a foolish idea to say so.
"Impossible," March protested. "I can't be Mommy." She uttered the word like poison.
"Oh?" Xia Ke grinned, "Is it so that the captain is Daddy? What about me?"
"Of course the geek big brother," March said, "and Blondie is the annoying little boy."
Kurapika blinked. Are they all joking? They seem to be at ease with their existence. That whisper seemed to echo back into his mind ----- but Kurapika refused to listen again, and the boy pushed it away in his mind, noticing the way the woman called him.
"Blonde blond pretty girl?"
"Well, you're blonde, aren't you?" She shrugged.
"I... I'd be happy if you didn't call me that," Kurapika muttered, and he vaguely saw Kuroro sniggering behind his coffee mug, as if everything he did was entertaining the man .Kurapika didn't have the energy to get angry any more, he got up, got some coffee for himself, they drank quietly, after a while, the warrior opened the room.
When they all finished their coffee, Kuyuluo got up and walked towards the door, while Maqi went to look for the knight.Kurapika waited for a while, but Kuroro stopped in front of the door for a while and looked back at him, Kurapika could only stand up and follow Kuroro wordlessly.Kuroro and Kurapika head north, quickly joined by two others. At the beginning, Kurapika kept walking ahead, but when the sun rose higher and higher, he started to fall behind. When Kuroro speeded up for him, Kurapika felt very frustrated, but he couldn't do much. and many other things.
In the afternoon they finally reached the end of the forest, and before them was a small village surrounded by rocky knolls a foot high, stretching to the north, and a small town of white houses and red tiles in a ravine. From where they stood, Kurapika could see people coming and going on the unpaved path. It was a quaint little place, and he wished they could take a rest here, but next to him was Phantom. The brigade, for this small town, it is a better choice for them to move on.
"We should be able to find transportation here," Kuroro said -- Kurapika surprised at how relieved he was. They are spiders, the vicious Phantom Troupe! He can't let them into this town, he should try to stop them, what if more people die? "Don't kill anyone," the leader continued, looking straight at Kurapika, as if the words would calm him. "Don't draw too much attention. We'll all keep our heads down until we reach Moriya."
"Okay, of course." Marge shrugged and stepped forward.
"Understood," the vigilante replied, glancing at Kurapika before following Marge.
Kurapika looked at Kuroro: "What trick are you playing?" He questioned, "You don't have to put on an act in front of me, I know all your evil deeds."
"But you'd still rather me not kill any of the villagers, right?" The spider leader tilted his head at Kurapika, "I'm not trying to influence you, but at the same time I don't think making you unhappy will benefit us, that's all. He motioned for Kurapika to follow, and Kurapika stared at him silently for a while before following Kuroro's footsteps.Just like Madge and Knight, they started to descend the mountain and reached the outskirts of the town after a short walk. After seeing these four strangers, the residents of the town stopped their work and looked at them. It seems that there are very few tourists in this small town, so the residents are so curious.
The spider leader smiled politely at the middle-aged woman who was holding the little boy: "Excuse me, ma'am," he said, "As you can see, we are tourists, can you tell us where we can find a hotel or an inn? And , our car broke down, so we walked for several days, can we buy a car here?" Kurapika flinched from the bottom of his heart---this man is so eloquent, it's easy to know his How the ex-boss' daughter was cheated by her.If Kurapika hadn't known the essence of a man early on, it would have been hard for him to suspect that this well-mannered man in front of him had committed more murders, hijackings and crimes than a person could meet in a lifetime.
"Oh, my God," the woman sighed, "what a handsome and polite young man! There is an inn next to the mayor's house." She pointed to the center of the town: "You can find it easily, that is A big house with blue panels. I don't think anyone here sells wheels, but I'll ask and I wish you could stay here a few more days!"
"Unfortunately, we have an urgent matter, so we can't stay, thank you very much." -----It's ridiculous, the leader of the brigade should have such an upright person, women are deceived by his charm, Kurapika Resisted from telling her not to be fooled-----this is an executioner, a thief.Suddenly, Kuroro glanced at him, and Kurapika blinked. He felt that Kuroro seemed to be enjoying himself? But Kuroro turned around before Kurapika saw his expression clearly, and walked towards the position pointed by the woman. Kurapika could only wonder whether the interest on the man's face was just his imagination.
Marge followed the spider leader, but Vigilante stayed with him, giving him questioning looks, and Kurapika started to walk, the young technician following him step by step. "So, Kurapika, you're a hunter, right? Your card says you got your hunter's license last year." Kurapika hesitated for a moment, then nodded. The young man seemed friendly and cheerful, but he was still a spider, and Kurapika had no desire to befriend him. "I got the license three years ago." The knight grinned, "I keep telling people to get a license, but they ignore it." They walked quietly for another minute or two: " You're not very talkative, are you? Although you can talk to the captain."
Kurapika met his eyes for a moment: "He always asks me questions," he finally replied.
"Oh, okay. I can do it too!" said the knight, beaming at him, "Oh. Looks like we're here!" Kurapika looked forward and saw Kuroro and Maggie standing in the same position as the woman said.・In front of the big house with blue panels, the sign at the entrance says it's the "Riverrun Inn".When Kurapika and the knight came to the hotel, they entered through the entrance. Kuroro shook the delicate chain in front of the door, and a crisp bell rang from inside.
A few moments later the door was opened by a stout gray-haired woman in a blue dress, wiping her hands on an apron.
"Oh my god, you guys just came after I finished washing the floors. What can I do for you?" She looked kind, smiling broadly, and Kurapika immediately conjured up that typical loving grandma image .
"Just a few bedrooms," Kuroro replied, smiling easily.
The proprietress of the inn glanced at the small group: "So four rooms? One room is [-] ring nuns, including breakfast and dinner."
"Just three rooms, thank you." The spider leader said, "I'll share a room with him." He gestured to Kurapika with his hand.
The woman blinked, looked back and forth between them, and gave an awkward smile: "Oh, huh, I see, so it's three rooms. Come with me." She turned around, and Kurapika realized with horror that she Misunderstood in the worst possible way, he followed them, glaring at the man's back like he was about to slash at Kuroro, and he only hoped the man would point out that they actually needed a room with two beds .The proprietress of the hotel took them upstairs, and Madge chose the room closest to the stairs, and the knight's room was next to her.
Kuroro and Kurapika's room is next to the knight's room.To Kurapika's great relief, Kuroro explained what he had said. "I'm afraid you've misunderstood," he said, "we're going to have a room with two beds."
"Oh!" the woman sighed, looking flustered: "I thought you were..." Kurapika was very happy that she didn't finish her sentence, the blond boy felt a chill running through his body, this feeling was worse than during the hunter exam Having sex with Leorio gave him goosebumps. (Fantasy jokes: I equated "being misunderstood as a couple with Kurolo" and "When I was in the same room with Leorie, the other party was light///walking out of the bathroom with a body." If you don't know, the little angel can go to Hunter 1999 Episode 18)
Kuroro gave him a look of interest, and Kurapika stared back. He was quite sure that the man had deliberately misunderstood the innkeeper's wife -- just to admire Kurapika's expression.Kuroro and Kurapika were taken to another twin room. The two beds were only a head's length apart. Lying so close to his enemy terrified Kurapika, but it was much more frightening than sharing the same bed. The pillow is much better.Kuroro thanked the innkeeper's wife and entered the house before Kurapika.
"Dinner will be served in about two hours," the woman said, and Kurapika thanked her, and Kuroro walked in, closing the door.
The Spider-Man made eye contact with him, with an amused smile on his face. "You look rather unhappy," he told Kurapika, who wondered if the comment was teasing him.
"I can't find humor in this stupid scene," he told Kuroro, who shook his head, pulled out the convenience wrap, and pulled out their clothes, a trick that Kurapika admitted was useful for traveling light. He took the clothes given to him by Kurollo and walked towards the door. "I'm going to take a shower," he said.
"Go. I will re-bandage your wound when you come back." Kurapika nodded, opened the room, and went to the location of the bathhouse pointed by the hotel proprietress.Once inside, he closed the door and began to undress.Kurapika removed the bandages and carefully inspected the wounds through the mirror next to his shoulder, they seemed to be recovering well, however it was still painful to take a shower. He entered the bathhouse and began to rinse, the teenager's body trembling slightly from the wound on his back as the water hit his shoulders.
Pain aside, this feels good. When Kurapika finished washing his hair and body, he stayed in there for a while. It felt good to be away from other people, to be alone, to relax for a while.Since being captured, he has had little time for himself, and can only hope that he is a prisoner after all--though no spider has ever treated him that way.Although the brigade leader had insisted on sharing a room with him, he was treated like an insider...but it bothered him more than being tied up in a cell.Kurapika finally finished taking a shower. He dried himself carefully, taking care not to rub his wounds, and then put on a new piece of clothing. Kuroro picked out a plain one with blue-gray edges for him. High-waisted jeans ----- Kurapika felt embarrassed going out with his bare back on his back, but he knew his shoulders should be bandaged before he could put his top back on.
Kurapika quickly walked across the hall to the room and quickly closed the door behind him.Kuroro raised his eyes from the book he was reading. He closed the book and put it aside.Bandages and ointments were already on his bed.He got up and gestured for Kurapika to sit on the mattress with medical supplies.Kurapika complied, hearing the sound of the man walking behind him.It made him restless, and he exposed his back to his enemy, but there was nothing he could do.It's better to be healed than to have an infected wound. He still has vows to fulfill.
Kuroro was silent for a long time, which made Kurapika even more nervous. Finally, the leader approached Kurapika and picked up the ointment. He placed some on the wound on Kurapika's shoulder. The ointment was cold, and Kurapika flinched. He heard a nasal sound of interest from the man behind him, and he could only stare at the far wall.He sat upright, refusing to shiver of any kind as the icy ointment was applied to his back, yet this only brought more pleasure to the Spider-head.Kuroro bandaged him, and Kurapika made sure he wasn't shaking or flinching—even when the man's fingers ran across his skin, he still insisted on not moving. When the process was over, he stood up and put on his T-shirt.Kuroro walked towards the door, Kurapika looked at him curiously, and watched him go to the other spider's room.
After a quarter of an hour, he came back with the knight. Kuroro grabbed his clothes and opened the room without a word. The knight sat on the floor next to Kurapika's bed. "Hi," he said, and Kurapika looked at the vigilante, watching him quietly. The young spider made a grimace: "Don't be so defensive. We are teammates, you know that?"
-----There is no reason to deny this, the spiders all know how Kurapika feels about it, but they don't care.In the end, he could only agree. With the eyeballs of his tribe as a condition, Kurapika knew that each pair was worth billions of bucks, and he might become the humanoid specimen with the highest bribe price in history.Although it doesn't make him happy.
Xia Ke stopped talking to him and started playing games on his phone.Kurapika picked up the book that Kuroro had placed on the small table beside the bed -- it was a book he had never read before, and it told about the ancient culture of the Boronki people. His interest was piqued, and he turned to the first page and began to read.Time and silence spread in the room together. After a while, Kuroro came back, wearing black overalls and a plain black long-sleeved shirt. He looked so... normal ----- it was weird. He also doesn't pull his hair back, which makes him look a lot younger.
The knight stood up and said, "Now the leader has finished washing, it's my turn to take a shower!" When the knight opened, only Kurapika and the leader spider were left in the room.
Kuroro looked at him, then at the book in his hand, which Kurapika put down hastily.
"You can read it if you want," the brigade leader assured him. "It's really interesting. Just return it to me after you finish reading it." The black-haired man took out another book from the convenience bag and sat down. Start reading below. After a while, Kurapika picked up the book again, and the boy spent the rest of the night in silence except for being interrupted by dinner.
