Wizard and Siren

Chapter 4 Sirens

Professor Ramuel Graplan walked up to the podium nervously. As a young teacher who had just been hired, every time he thought that he would face such a large group of people, he really sweated for himself.

The Protection of Magical Creatures class he teaches is often considered to be of little practical use, and it is indeed a not very safe subject. He has to be alert to the sudden mania of magical creatures, and he has to worry about the gang of sloppy students accidentally making snacks.

Fortunately, the Slytherins and Ravenclaws in the audience have already given him peace of mind. The former is cunning and cautious, while the latter is calm and alert.

Even so, Lamuel once again wiped his sweat with a handkerchief, but he was still very worried that if he angered the children of the high-ranking people, his job would be lost.

"Professor Graplan," the students filed out after class, but Tom stayed behind, "I have some questions to ask you."

Is there any professor at Hogwarts who doesn't know a good Riddle classmate? No.Ramulton felt overwhelmed. You know, although Riddle is polite to him every time, he obviously lacks interest in this class like other students.

"Oh, yes... I mean, okay." Lamuel's voice sounded a little sharp with excitement, and he had to clear his throat for this, "Is there a problem, Mr. Reed."

"I'm trying to finish a dissertation recently on ancient and dangerous magical creatures," said Tom, "but there are several important creatures that I can't find enough information. Professor, can you help me?"

"Of course," what a humble and studious student, Lamuel thought, "I can get you permission to go to the xxx area."

"I'm afraid it's not enough. I've already obtained permission from Head Slytherin to check it out, but unfortunately I still found nothing." Tom's furrowed brows and distressed expression made Lamuel feel as if his heart would be broken.

"Then... can I help you with anything?"

"To be honest, Principal Dippet often mentions that Graplan is a respected and long-established surname. It has dealt with various magical creatures long before Hogwarts was founded. It can be your surname. Student, I feel extremely honored and fortunate." These words were so sincere that no one could doubt them.

"I heard that there are many precious classics in your private collection, Professor. I wonder if I can borrow them for a while?"

"Of course." Professor Lamuel, who had just recovered from the words of praise, kept nodding his head as he thought of those old books that had accumulated dust and no one cared about them.

"I'm so lucky to have your help!" Tom nodded again in thanks, with a sly gleam in his eyes.

At the peak of spring, the lifeless Black Lake finally swelled.A few pale yellow and pink wildflowers bloomed on the shore, dancing in the occasional breeze.

With a wave of his wand, Tom conjured up a small wooden dining table.Isabella swam excitedly to the table and sat down obediently.

The table stands on the shore of the Black Lake, half in the water and half on the soft green grass.

The string of ancient spells at the beginning should be a kind of manifestation magic, which allowed him to successfully meet Isabella. But the confinement magic of this black lake is very powerful, making it impossible for her to leave here for half a step.

But it also helped him a lot, otherwise he would have to find another way to enclose her.

"Tom, hurry up! I want a tablecloth with pink checks and strawberries on it."

He chanted the spell again, and Isabella couldn't wait to spread out the conjured tablecloth.

Ever since last weekend, after hearing Tom talk about the luxurious and sumptuous banquet at Hogwarts, Isa has clamored to feel it too.The fact that she can't leave here doesn't prevent the dining venue from being moved here.

Tom loathes having dinner with a non-wizard magical creature. To be honest, every time he has to bother to feed her all kinds of food, it is enough to make him sick, but now he has to eat at the same table.

He had to admit that his endurance was getting stronger and stronger.

However, since consulting Graplan's private library, he does have many questions that need to be answered. At least in terms of human language and appearance, it was difficult for him to equate Isabella with the ferocious and ugly monster in the illustration.

"Be patient, Isa." Tom tapped the edge of the table lightly, and two glasses of fresh orange juice appeared.

Immediately, steak, salad, cranberry biscuits, cumin chicken wings, plum pie with hazelnut sauce... just popped out one after another. It can be seen from the reaction of Isa who couldn't help swallowing her saliva that Tom picked her favorite food.

"No broccoli and diced carrots!" cried Isa.

"Yes, my princess!" Tom waved his wand, making the garnish disappear.

The moment the magic stopped, Isa grabbed the steak and began to bite.

When she caught a glimpse of Tom holding a knife in his right hand and a fork in his left, slowly slicing the steak, she couldn't help but blush like a persimmon, and then imitated Tom with her greasy hands and grabbed the knife and fork, but it was a pity that she couldn't imitate it.

Tom sighed, and helped her adjust the posture of holding the knife and fork very gentlemanly.

"Like this." He smoothly cut off a piece and fed it to her mouth. "Is it tasty?"

Isa looked at him with wide eyes, "Oh, you are such a gentleman!"

He smiled at Isa, then forked a small piece and said, "Look, Isabella, the food becomes juicier and more delicious after being magically cooked. What a creative move."

"Yeah, I didn't have this kind of experience when I only ate raw meat before." Isa suddenly laughed, "It is said that many people think that eating the meat of our sirens will give you eternal life. This is really ridiculous gone."

Tom nodded and said, "That's just an unrealistic fantasy of a weak and uninformed person. A truly wise and strong person will never listen to groundless rumors."

"However, the act of eating does have a huge magical power." Isa stuffed another small piece of steak into her mouth, and chewed it carefully with her sharp teeth, "It would be great if eating could really save people from death. Just It seems to have eaten the god of death."

"Your analogy is really interesting, Isha."

"You're funny too, Tom. Funny and funny make a perfect match." She stared at Tom and said seriously, "Not only that, but you're the most handsome man I've ever seen."

"You haven't met many people, have you?" Tom was used to her ramblings.

"There are only two I remember. One is you, and the other is a wizard from a long, long time ago." Isa picked up the tomato with a fork.

"Oh, who's the other one?"

"Hmm...he looks a bit like you, but he has two more mustaches than you." As she spoke, she dipped the steak sauce and added two strokes on her lips. "He brought me here."

"That's Salazar Slytherin, one of the founders of Hogwarts." Tom calmly picked up the napkin and wiped Isa's mouth and hands, and then asked, "Why did he hide you?" here?"

"To protect me."

"For protection?"

"Yes," Isa looked at the calm lake, as if recalling things a long time ago, "At the beginning, people united with wizards to drive out the sirens, but he chose to save me, put me in a bag, and put me here. And put a very strong protective magic so that no one else can see me."

"Do you know why he wants to protect you?"

"Of course," Isa came back to her senses and resumed her usual cheerful tone, "because he loves me."

Of course Tom wouldn't admit to such a silly reason.

The founder of Slytherin could not be so easily bewitched by a siren.Maybe Slytherin was trying to gain more power, he thought, as he was doing now.

"Then you're terrible, Isa," Tom quipped, following the silly siren. "He loves you and you love me. It's not fair."

"But he's already dead, isn't he?" Isa's blue eyes were bright. "I know wizards don't live that long."
