Wizard and Siren

Chapter 13 Epilogue

Tom Riddle, dressed in a hospital gown, lay on a bed in the hospital wing, surrounded by cards, flowers and snacks left by visiting classmates. The homework and notes on the small table next to him were piled up high, and he came to his senses in a trance, and the OWLs exam was more than a month away.

"Tom, can you tell me again why you were alone in the Forbidden Forest unconscious and badly injured?"

Professor Dumbledore stared at Tom with those deep, loving, stern eyes, and he was glad they weren't another familiar blue.

"Of course, Professor. I know I'm doing something wrong, but I'm really sorry for Senior Borinkloff." The concern in Tom's voice was exchanged for Dumbledore's raised eyebrows, but he tried his best to ignore this distrust.

"That's why I came to the Forbidden Forest late at night, hoping to find a plant that can detoxify. But I didn't expect that such a terrible creature was hidden there. I was attacked by a giant monster and could only run around. I couldn't tell the direction at all. Then I passed out and woke up in the hospital wing."

Tom said it all in one breath, sounding sincere and flawless.Professor Dumbledore stood up, and for a while walked up and down the ward in silence.Tom almost felt that he was going to expose his own lie.

"I'm sorry." Finally, Professor Dumbledore had to let go, but his blue eyes did not relax his vigilance at all. "Slytherin will have to deduct a lot of points for such a big incident."

"This is the punishment I deserve, Professor. I am convinced." He admitted his mistake guiltily.

After Professor Dumbledore left, Tom played with the locket idly.

It was empty inside, having examined it carefully the first time he opened it.

Maybe Slytherin really left his heirs with a way to undo the curse somewhere else, or maybe he really only imprisoned the siren for the secret of eternal life.

However, who cares, these are not important anymore.

Everything in the past was buried at the bottom of the black lake with the death of the last siren.

The plan failed and he almost died.

This failure was a lesson, he mused, maybe he shouldn't trust anyone but himself.

But he doesn't intend to just give up.

He appreciates and is deeply proud of the black magic that is so powerful and profound. There must be some method that allows him to fly over death and overcome everything in a place that he has not touched.

The candle flickered for a while, and then continued to shine on the face of the young Demon King.

He believes that he will reach the peak that no one can reach.
