Chapter 80 Breakfast

Esther followed Snape back to the principal's office, where Grindelwald was fiddling with the memory in the Pensieve.

"Don't touch it!" Snape did his best to sound threatening in his husky voice.Grindelwald stepped aside nonchalantly to make room.Snape walked quickly to the Pensieve to check the memories inside, and then carefully picked out the parts that belonged to him and stuffed them back into his head.

"You don't want to see it?" Grindelwald asked Esther casually, raising the corner of his mouth.

Snape froze, and gave Grindelwald a bad look.

"I don't want to." Esther raised his eyebrows at Grindelwald, who looked bored.

Snape had very little, some books, two clothes, a pair of shoes and some potions. They packed everything in almost no time.

Grindelwald sat leisurely on the sofa and watched them walking up and down the room, until the two of them were about to leave, and then lazily said, "Dumbledore wants you to stay."

Snape stopped and looked at Grindelwald, and said with difficulty, "I've done everything I need to do."

"I'm just paraphrasing what Dumbledore said."

Snape hesitated. He undoubtedly had deep feelings for Hogwarts, but this feeling was complicated. His purpose of becoming a teacher at Hogwarts was not pure. Now that the task has been completed, he has no reason to stay. What's more, he himself knows that whether he is a professor or the principal, his reputation is not very good.Rather than staying and being pointed at by others, it is better to leave as soon as possible.

Esther knew that Snape's heart was not as strong as it appeared. His inferiority complex has long been exposed in front of Esther.Seeing that he began to deny himself again, Esther couldn't help but said, "If you want to go back, I have no objection. But if you want to stay, I will support you [-]%. I think the same as all Slytherin students You are the best professor. If you really choose to leave, I think at least the students of Slytherin will be very sorry. And who can guarantee that they are as popular as Gallon? I remember when we were in school, we did not have less Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumbledore are resentful."

Seeing that Snape still didn't make up his mind, Esther couldn't help sighing, "Why don't we go to the cellar first. You need to rest. I also want to wash and change clothes. The blood sticking to my body is too uncomfortable. And I'm so hungry and sleepy—"

Snape seemed grateful that Esther had found a good excuse. He took her hand like a sigh of relief and led her out of the principal's office. The excited crowd also gathered in the auditorium to share their joy with each other.Snape didn't stop, and pulled Esther straight to the cellar.

The office in the cellar has not been lived in for a long time, and it looks extremely cold.Snape put down his things and lit the fireplace, then opened the secret door and went inside to clean it briefly.

"Let me do it." Esther worried that his excessive use of magic would make the wound worse. But Snape shook his head at her, syllables out of his injured voice, "You - go - wash -"

Esther was worried that if she was disobedient, Snape would try to persuade her again, so she nodded and went into the bathroom to wash. The warm water wrapped around her body, relaxing her from the inside out.She tried her best to keep herself awake, but her sleepiness became more and more intense. Before she knew it, she tilted her head on the edge of the bathtub and fell into a deep sleep.

When consciousness returned to her body again, she found that she was surrounded by a quiet herbal smell. She opened her eyes in bewilderment and found herself lying on Snape's bed.His quilt surrounded her tightly and brought her warmth. And he was lying on the outside of the quilt with all his clothes on, using only thin clothes to resist the cold air of the cellar.Esther quickly lifted the quilt and covered Snape under it.The cold air took the opportunity to sneak in, and Esther shivered.

The rough cloth grazed her skin and bound her in.Esther raised her head, a pair of black pearl-like pupils exuded a gentle light that broke into her blue-green eyes and crashed into the bottom of her heart. Her heart trembled slightly. She had never seen such a gentle and peaceful Snape, and even wondered if he had been cast with the Imperius Curse.

"It's still early, you can sleep a little longer." Snape's hoarse voice became nasal again. He didn't look well rested and seemed to have a bit of a cold.Esther's sleepiness was swept away, and she struggled to get out of his arms.

"I'm going to make you some refreshing potion," Esther said.

Snape had no intention of letting her go.He tightened his arms and fixed Esther on the bed and said, "It's okay, I'll just lie down under the quilt for a while. You consumed too much last night, so rest a little longer. And what's the matter with your injuries? "

"I fed dragons in Gringotts for a period of time. I didn't understand much at first, and I didn't enjoy getting along with fire dragons. After getting familiar with it, I rarely got hurt." Esther explained easily.

Snape didn't say anything, just hugged her tighter.Esther saw that he didn't intend to let her go, so she gave up and stayed in his arms obediently. The dark room was lit only by the crackling charcoal in the fireplace.Snape's body temperature gradually leaked through the fabric, warming her body.

Esther blushed in embarrassment, rolled over and lay down with her back to Snape, ignoring him.

Snape put his arms around her from behind, pulled her into his arms, and buried his head in sniffing her hair.Esther's emotions were appeased. Her hand covered the back of his, but Snape grabbed it and kneaded it gently.

"Let's get married." Snape's voice was mixed with the heat of his breath and reached Esther's ears, making her a little dazed.

Seeing that Esther didn't respond, Snape asked nervously, "Don't you want to..."

Esther turned over to face the pair of dark eyes hiding anxiety, and smiled sweetly, "I can't wait to read the oath now."

Snape's hanging heart finally let go, but he didn't show it, just kissed Esther's forehead lightly.

Suddenly, a stomach rumbling came from under the quilt, interrupting their talk about marriage.Snape raised an eyebrow.Esther cleared her throat in embarrassment, "Well... I'll go to the kitchen to get something to eat..." As he spoke, he got out of Snape's arms, grabbed the clothes on the bedside and put them on indiscriminately.

The clothes belonged to Snape, which seemed a little too baggy for her.She fumbled for her wand when suddenly she felt her waist tighten and her dress shrink around her body.

"Your wand feels good too." Snape shook the red-brown wand in his hand.

With a blushing face, Esther snatched her wand and stuffed it into her sleeve, and almost trotted out of the bedroom.

Hogwarts was still asleep in the morning. After a night of fighting, everyone was exhausted. The auditorium was empty, and the injured appeared to have been transported away.Esther touched the kitchen, where the house-elves were still hard at work.Seeing Esther, Momo and Kreacher came over to greet her warmly.

"My dear lady, is there anything I can do for you?"

"What can Kreacher do for Miss?"

"Thank you. Could you prepare two breakfasts and send them to the cellar? Mr. Snape and I are a bit hungry."

"Of course, right away. It's a Momo honor to serve you and Mr. Snape. You and Mr. Snape are wonderful people."

"Kreacher is also willing to help. Kreacher has always known that Miss is very good. Kreacher's master also admits that there is indeed something remarkable about Mr. Snape, although only a little."

Esther imagined the disgusted expression on Sirius' reluctantly conceding a sentence to Snape. If Snape was going to throw up if he found out, better not tell him.

After explaining what to eat, Esther walked back to the cellar. As soon as she walked in, she saw that the table was already full of food. The house elves were really efficient.Snape was sitting at the table waiting for her, flipping through the recently delivered Daily Prophet.

"Kingsley has been appointed as the interim Minister of Magic." Snape told Esther the news he had just seen.

"Finally there is a minister who doesn't confront Dumbledore tit for tat." Esther salivated at the food on the table, expecting Snape to quickly put down the newspaper and eat together.

"You eat first." Snape seemed to guess Esther's thoughts, "Yesterday you poured so many potions into me, I'm not as hungry as you."

"You still shed so much blood..." Esther said unconvinced. She cut off a piece of bread and put it into her mouth to chew vigorously, but she bit her own mouth, causing her to hiss and take a breath.

Snape glanced at her and said with a chuckle, "Why, you think bacon tastes bad, do you like raw?"

Esther swallowed the bloody taste in his mouth, and took a sip of milk angrily.

Snape turned his attention back to the newspaper, "Some people questioned that Dumbledore's suspended animation was trying to fool the public."

"Rita Skeeter?" Esther frowned. "There are women who hate her everywhere. But in the end, it was Dumbledore that I killed. If he really died, there wouldn't be so much trouble."

"You don't have to blame yourself, that's what he asked for. Whoever told him to carry out that crappy plan, I said that it's not a good idea. Besides, he's not troublesome at all. The school board has reinstated him as the principal. It shows that everyone still trusts him.”

"You can't be the headmaster, are you sorry?" Esther put down the knife and fork and looked at Snape and asked.

"Not at all. If I hadn't promised Dumbledore to guard the school for him, I wouldn't bother to take care of those miscellaneous things. It's Dumbledore who never tires of being the headmaster."

Esther shrugged, she didn't think Snape was telling the truth, but she couldn't see that he was lying either.Perhaps being the headmaster was as conflicting as staying at Hogwarts was.The title of headmaster is certainly an honor that Slytherin yearns for and pursues, but it is also a headache to deal with the Ministry of Magic, the school board, the school's dean and professors, not to mention the pressure from Voldemort at that time. The life of the headmaster for the past six months made Snape look a lot older and his wrinkles increased a lot.Maybe it would be easier not to be the principal, Esther thought distressedly.

Snape didn't know that Esther had so many thoughts, he flipped through the newspaper page by page, telling Esther one or two news from time to time. When he saw the recruitment information, Snape paused, and said hesitantly, "Well... St. Mungo's urgently recruits a therapist, do you... want to go back?"

"No, I won't go back." Esther smiled and said, "I think I should be a pharmacist. Professor Slughorn said that he can recommend me as a team doctor, but if you stay at Hogwarts, If I run around again, there will be too few opportunities to meet."

Snape looked a little happy and a little guilty. He shook the newspaper and said, "The Ministry of Magic is also recruiting. You can choose a job that commutes on time. Of course, don't consider Auror, it's worse than a healer .”

"I think Tonks is pretty good?" Esther asked puzzled.

"That's because she married a werewolf who had nothing to do all day long."

"Don't say that about Remus, he's always been kind to you."

Snape looked over the newspaper at Esther, his calm face more oppressive than his usual frown. "He almost killed me, twice, but I can't say a word about him?"

"He didn't mean it." Esther's voice weakened. She knew that she had upset him, but she couldn't help but argue, "I think Remus thanked Merlin as much as you did, otherwise he would have to I'm so guilty. And he and Tonks are married, I think Tonks can be regarded as a friend..." Her voice became weaker and she didn't know what to say.

"So you're choosing to side with your friend rather than your boyfriend or—husband-to-be?" Snape narrowed his eyes dangerously.

Esther put down the knife and fork again, and said seriously, "Sev, of course I'm on your side, you know that. It's been like this since we met, hasn't it? I don't want you to be against Remus just because He really has no malice towards you. If there were no such incidents back then, perhaps you would also sympathize with what happened to him..."

"I won't, what does he have to do with me?" Severus said indifferently. The newspaper in his hand was raised again to block his face and Esther's view.

Esther was relieved to sense that Snape was less aggressive. She followed his words and joked, "Okay, okay, Mr. Duplicity, you don't care about him at all. You are indifferent, strong, and don't care about other people's life or death at all. You stood in front of others regardless of your injuries last night, stopping him Voldemort's attack was not for saving people at all, but because you wanted to show your strength. You stopped Harry from dueling Voldemort not because you were worried about his safety, but because you looked down on him. Then you give Neville Longbottom Is the protection spell cast because of the wrong spell? Or was the spell misspelled and meant to be cast on a Slytherin student? Also, your collection of aconites is just a personal preference, and you have a hatred for Remus , I will never make wolfbane potion for him in the future."

Snape put down the newspaper abruptly and looked at Esther angrily. But this anger is not a threat to Esther, and his angry look is much safer than his expressionless look.Esther smiled triumphantly, and said briskly, "My lovely sir, can we start having breakfast?"
