Chapter 12 Special Patronus

At breakfast time, Harry's relatives were very irritable.

"Mrs. Figg broke her leg and won't be able to look after Harry today," Aunt Petunia shrieked.

"Then call Maggie and ask her to come?" Uncle Vernon suggested.

"She hates the baby, you know," said Aunt Petunia, her lips curled up.

"What about your friend Evan?" Uncle Vernon wanted to be alone again.

"Going on vacation to Majorca!" snapped Aunt Petunia.

"It's terrible. Can't everyone? Hey wait, doesn't he know Mrs. Connie and her little boy? How about letting them babysit for a day?" Uncle Vernon seemed to be holding on to the last straw.

Aunt Petunia reluctantly nodded. Although she hated the bastard, the bastard seemed cuter than taking Harry to celebrate Dudley's birthday.

But Harry interrupted at this moment, "Well, they're not at home. Esther's eye was injured, and Mrs. Connie took her to London for treatment." This is the first time Harry has stopped supporting Ace these days. Special eye injury feels sad.Aunt Petunia looked at Harry in disbelief. She couldn't believe that his luck would be so bad today.

In fact, Esther's eyes were not that bad, but Aunt Connie was still worried and insisted on taking her to St. Mungo's to have a look.Aunt Connie took her to an abandoned red-brick department store and said "fall" to the dummy in the glass window. The dummy nodded, beckoning them to go.Aunt Connie took Esther's hand and went in through the glass.

Fortunately, Esther couldn't see the people around him clearly, otherwise the appearance of green hair or pustules would not be pretty.Aunt Connie stood there looking at something, and said to Esther, "This way, follow me. We don't need to go upstairs."

Aunt Connie sat Esther across from a man in a green robe and told him that Esther lost her eyesight after falling off the broom. The green-robed therapist checked the condition of the eyes, and then probed with a magic spell. He confirmed that Madam Pomfrey's treatment was all right, and she just insisted on taking the medicine. She also told Esther to use her eyes less.

"I don't think homework is too taxing for my eyes, and I can see clearly when I'm close." Esther decided to fight again, at least let her finish her dissertation on potions.

"No, you need to use your eyes less." Aunt Connie locked Esther's box with a magic spell without negotiating.

Esther tries to play with Harry, but gets frustrated. Her eyes were not working well, so her ears became sensitive. Listening to Aunt Petunia's venomous voice, she could imagine her expression of wanting to eat people.

The noon sun gradually scorched people's skin, so Esther got into the flowers and lay down to avoid the scorching sun.She closed her eyes, the buzz of insects around her drilled into her ears, the aroma came to her nostrils, and she seemed to be able to taste the sweetness of nectar in her mouth.Suddenly the colors exploded in Esther's mind, and everything around her appeared more and more clearly in her mind, as if her soul resonated with her surroundings.

She lay there and let her keen perception run freely, carefully feeling the change of light, the drop of temperature, and even the happy or sad mood of the people passing by.Until night fell and the stars rose into the black velvet sky.

The feeling of the night is completely different from that of the day, quiet and profound.Esther traced everything around her in her heart. It was really strange. It was obviously the flowers, the trees, and the sky, but the darkness made them hide all the beauty of the day, making them seem mysterious and inaccessible. She inexplicably thought of Professor Snape, the unchanging black robe was like the eternal night sky.The powerful magic wrapped under the black robe, superb pharmaceutical skills, and conscientious teaching can't offset the bad impression his harsh and vicious words have left on the students.Esther suddenly felt amused by his own thoughts, did he hide something in the dark night?

Suddenly, a slight sound of flapping wings was caught by Esther. She opened her eyes and vaguely saw something flying in the sky. After careful identification, it was discovered that it was a bat. There are still animals that are close to the night, aren't there? They know and understand everything about the night, they are not afraid of the night, they enjoy the tranquility.

Esther looked at the flying bats, feeling vaguely like she saw Professor Snape patrolling the classroom through the fog during class. There seemed to be a strange emotion passing through her heart. She couldn't tell it clearly, but she could clearly feel that the magic power was about to move with the feeling.

Esther rushed back to her room, grabbed her mother's wand, and channeled the magic through her senses. When the feeling was the strongest at the end, she chanted the mantra obediently, "Call God to protect you!"

A silvery-white light spewed out from the tip of the wand, and slowly the white light began to condense into shape, and finally turned into a bat flying around her.She finally summoned her Patronus. She stretched out her hand to let the silver bat pass through her palm. At the moment of contact, a warm feeling flowed from her palm to her whole body, and more happy memories flashed in her mind. She was amazed at the special experience brought by her patron saint, and wanted to try whether passing through someone else's body would bring about the same effect.

Esther's eyes finally healed one sunny morning, and she ran excitedly to tell Harry the good news. But it was discovered that not only Harry, but even Aunt Petunia didn't come out and say something about her.Harry's house was empty for several days.Didn't tell her about the move?Esther thought a little angrily.

The rest of the vacation time was spent in crazy supplementary homework, but only potion, transfiguration and spell homework were completed.Esther likes to quote a lot of materials when writing homework, which makes her spend a lot of time flipping through books.Fortunately, Professor Babazi of Defense Against the Dark Arts decided to return to Ouagadou because he was not very qualified to teach wands, so that she could save one copy of homework on the train.

Esther, who was sitting in the auditorium, was still preoccupied with homework, and didn't notice that the sorting ceremony had already begun. It wasn't until the end when she heard Professor McGonagall calling "Harry Potter" that Esther suddenly raised her head and saw the boy she was familiar with sitting on a four-legged stool. "Gryffindor!" The Sorting Hat then called out the name of the house.Esther saw Leona winking at her, as if to show off that they had Potter. How childish, Esther thought.

The start-of-school banquet started, and a sumptuous amount of food appeared on the dining table. Esther took a piece of pie and a glass of pumpkin juice and was about to eat when she suddenly felt a gaze on her.She looked up to meet Harry, who was staring at her in surprise.Harry saw Esther looking at him and waved excitedly.Esther held up the pumpkin juice and gestured to Harry, mouthing "Congratulations."Harry wanted to say something, but was called over by the students next to him.It seems that he will have many friends, Esther is happy for Harry but also feels a little lost, the pie in front of him seems not so delicious.

After breakfast the next day, Harry finally had a chance to explain to Esther that he had left without saying goodbye to his summer vacation.

"Because of the letter from Hogwarts, why did your uncle come up with such a bad idea of moving to prevent you from going to school?" Esther chatted while walking on the way to send Harry to the classroom.

"Yeah, I'm sorry I couldn't tell you. But we're even, and you're also a wizard, and you kept it from me for so many years." Harry said pretending to be angry.

"It's the same for you. I don't want to lose my friend, and I have to take into account the secrecy law." Esther deliberately ignored the fact that she already knew that he was the Boy Who Lived.

"Well, you're right." Harry couldn't put it down, and grinned, "But I didn't expect you to be a Slytherin. To be honest, I don't have a good impression of Slytherin."

"Do you Gryffindors always like to tease people in person so much? You can't be a little more tactful." Esther was a little helpless, "Leona Brown, who is in the fourth year of your college, is also my friend, and you speak the same way as her. It's really standard Gryffindor."

Harry seemed to think this was the best compliment he could do, and smiled smugly.

The fourth grade was still busy, and Harry was still getting familiar with the campus, so everything was rushed and chaotic. This makes it difficult for them to meet.So much so that in the protection of magical creatures class on Friday afternoon, Esther sneaked into Hagrid's cabin next to him and saw Harry again.

"You shouldn't be skipping class, Collins, you're setting a bad example for these boys," said Hagrid gruffly, but let her in anyway.

"Come on, Hagrid, do birds and snakes still need to learn? My teapot homework in Transfiguration class is full marks. Then it's enough to change a teapot and let it get in." Esther said and walked into the room and nodded to everyone.

There was another boy in the room besides Harry, probably Harry's new friend. The red-haired boy was called Ron Weasley, and Esther told him that he was being chased all over the field by his twin brother's Bludger. The little boy said nervously that they always make trouble for themselves.

When it came to their class this week, Harry's face darkened, and he talked about something that made Snape's class hard for him. Both Hagrid and Ron advised Harry not to worry, as Snape hardly ever liked any of the students.

"He also felt sorry for me in the first class, and asked me what was wrong with cooking other people's slugs. But I think this is his special way of teaching, and maybe you can benefit from it." Esther comforted him.

"But he seems to really hate me," Harry said firmly.

"Nonsense!" said Hagrid, "why should he hate you?"

But Esther keenly caught Hagrid deliberately avoiding his eyes when he spoke. What grievances can Professor Snape have with Harry?Although Professor Snape is narrow-minded, if you don't provoke him, he won't talk to you either.Could it be that Harry also offended Professor Snape before school started?Esther pondered secretly.

"Hagrid, we were there the day Gringotts was stolen. Reports say the stolen vault was emptied this morning. Could it be the one we went to?"

Esther was awakened from thinking by Harry's voice, and seeing Hagrid's more nervous expression than before, Esther knew what he was hiding, but who didn't have a secret anymore, she didn't want Hagrid to feel embarrassed.

She took a piece of rock cake, changed the subject and said, "I have to go, go back before get out of class is over, Professor Kettleburn won't find out. I'll take the rock cake to feed the birds and snakes."

"They eat bugs, and rock cakes will give them indigestion. Professor Kettleburn should give you this lesson again." Hagrid took a can of cockroaches and handed Esther, as if for the interruption. The topic was relieved.Harry and his friends got up to say goodbye when Esther left.

Ever since he learned that Professor Snape had a grudge against Harry, Esther always looked for opportunities to observe them.In the first class, it is indeed difficult for candidates to answer stagnant water, fecal stones, and aconitum, but they may not be unable to answer them. She thought that if she was herself back then, she might be able to answer it.She was being picked on for underestimating potions, what would Harry do for that? She asked Harry, and Harry said he'd never met Snape. The first time they met was at the start-of-term feast, Snape seemed to give him a look, and his scar seemed to hurt a little.

Harry's scar was known to Esther, and he thought it was Dudley's injury, so he didn't ask about it for fear of embarrassing him.Later, it was found out that it was left by an evil magic of the mysterious man, so it was even more difficult for Esther to ask.And Snape could make the scar hurt just by looking at it, did he use some kind of spell?Esther only knew that Legilimency might cause headaches, but she didn't know if the scar would hurt. After all, she didn't have a scar, and she couldn't try Legilimency on Harry for no reason.

But Esther never had a chance to see Professor Snape, let alone when he was with Harry.Snape seemed to be extraordinarily busy this term, and he was hardly seen except in class. He didn't ask Esther to help with some chores, in fact, he seemed to have moved from the cellar to the staff lounge above. She had no choice but to temporarily give up exploring this secret and suppress her confusion in her heart. After all, she had enough things to worry about.

For example, the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts in the new school year-Professor Quirrell. As soon as he took one of his classes, Esther began to miss Professor Babazi. At least they haven't seen what Professor Babazi demonstrated to them, and Esther demonstrated by Professor Quirrell has already known it.What's more, Esther doubts whether Professor Quirrell's stammering spell can really be released.

Esther and her friends return to the Room of Requirement. They need to continue to learn defensive magic by themselves again, and Leona is most excited about this.

"What are we learning today?" Leona took a copy of "Self-Defense Spells" from the bookshelf, and selected the spells one by one. "A hindrance spell or an armor spell?"

"Both of us know the Obstacle Curse. Let Orion teach you. I'm studying the Iron Armor Curse. In fact, I want to study the Disillusionment Curse and Animagus." Esther selected a few books from the bookshelf and sat down. Ready to read on the couch.Suddenly, she remembered her guess about her Patronus Charm, so she happened to try it with Leona here.

"By the way, Leona, can you help me feel my Patronus Charm?" Esther pulled out her wand and said.

"You did it? Why didn't you tell me!" Leona muttered dissatisfied.

"I also suddenly became enlightened during the summer vacation. You can feel it. Call God to protect you!" Esther summoned the Bat Patronus and directed it to fly into Leona's body.

Leona was taken aback, but before the exclamation came out, she relaxed and smiled.

"How do you feel?" Esther asked nervously.

"It's great, it reminds me of a lot of happy things we had together." Leona was still intoxicated by the memories.

"Does the patron saint have such usage and effect?" Orion asked doubtfully.

"I don't know, no one has said it, and I haven't read the introduction in the book. After all, there are few people who know this kind of spell. Professor Babazi has left. Are you going to ask Professor Qi-Qi-Qiluo?" Esther imitated Professor Quirrell's speech maliciously.

Leona and Orion both laughed.

"Hurry up and practice, and try to summon the patron saint, and you will know if it has this effect." Esther sat back on the sofa and began to read those large books.

After entering the Quidditch season, Esther has additional training tasks. But now her situation in the team is different from before.Rivers had been doting on her before, though occasionally yelling at her.But she had graduated last school year, and now Flint took over as captain.Flint is a big boy, and he doesn't take kindly to girls who are bigger than himself.Esther guessed that if he was not an old player and hadn't made any major mistakes, he would probably be replaced. It makes her mope every time she trains.

"Come on Esther, don't be as knowledgeable as him, as long as he wants to win, he can't replace you. You are our best Seeker." Leo Ryan comforted her in the Room of Requirement. He can now also summon the Patronus, a cute little fox.Leona's Patronus was trained a few days earlier than him, a foxhound.Esther always laughed and said that Leona was Orion's natural nemesis, making both of them flushed, and neither of them would release the Patronus Charm anymore. But before that, Leona tried her own foxhound to pounce on Esther. Although it was also warm, the memories it brought were not strong. They all agreed that Leona's too large nerves made the feeling not delicate enough, so the memories she brought became blurred.

They practiced many other spells besides the Patronus, and tried a few times to practice the Animagus. They found the method from a big black book, with many steps and very troublesome. So when they swallowed three mandrake leaves in one day, Leona decided to give up the skill. "I think I can be a rabbit if I eat any more!" she said angrily.Orion decided to accompany her to give up, anyway, he couldn't think of any place where he had to use the Animagus. When he started practicing, he just wanted to accompany Leona to transform into animals. Now that Leona stopped practicing, he gave up.

Esther ate a lot too, but she wanted to try again.Insecure, she is always particularly obsessed with these protective spells.Esther is going to wait until Halloween is over before sneaking into Greenhouse No. [-] to steal a leaf. She had to be more careful this time, because she always picked the mandrake closest to the door before, and its leaves were almost bald, which made her feel very bad.It took a lot of effort for Professor Sprout to calm the rowdy little fellow. Therefore, the third greenhouse has become the most concerned one.

On the last weekend of October, Esther and the others got a chance to go to Hogsmeade.Leona enthusiastically dragged Esther and Orion into Honeydukes to expand her sweet reserves.Neither Orion nor Esther have a sweet tooth, but they would buy some back every time. It's just that these are Leona's extra reserves, and they will eventually be filled in her stomach.

But this time Esther bought two packs back, which made Leona think she had a knack for sweets. In fact, Esther just wanted to bring some for Harry. The younger grades couldn't go to Hogsmeade, but Esther didn't want him to wait another two years for Honeydukes candy, especially on a holiday like Halloween.

Harry was the owl candy delivery he received at breakfast the next day.Rumors had spread that he was Gryffindor Seeker, which meant he and Esther would be rivals in the upcoming match. In order to prevent the two from being misunderstood by their respective colleges, Esther rarely met and talked with him recently, and most of the news would be delivered by owls. It's also kind of fun, at least Harry can expect to be favored by an owl when all the owls fly into the Great Hall. When an owl really flies towards him, it always brings him some surprises.

Harry opened the package and saw various candies inside, with an origami star sandwiched in the middle.Harry knew it was Esther's sign.Harry happily distributed some candies to his good friends next to him, then grinned at the long Slytherin table with a bright smile, and said thank you with his mouth. The Slytherin students looked at Harry inexplicably, wondering if he was out of his mind.Esther blinked quietly, she didn't dare to be as blatant as Harry, especially since Flint was sitting next to him, and had been expressing dissatisfaction with her and Gryffindor's friendly behavior.
