[HP] Spring Mountain is Sleeping
Chapter 34 The Spring Mountain Sleeps
This evening, when Nurse Kaparina came to Tom's room for a routine inspection, she was so surprised that she didn't know what to say.
Mr. McLeod was still up.He was sitting on the narrow window sill, with one leg bent and the other suspended above the rough floor, looking up at the starry sky leisurely. There was no light in the room, and a spare flashlight had been managed to tuck it into the window bracket so that it was directed upwards. The lack of battery light just outlined a rather delicate side face. The sparse white nightgown was almost penetrated by the light of the flashlight, and the zigzag lines of half of the body were also faintly visible under the robe.
"Oh, Mai, don't sit there, be careful of falling." After 3 minutes, Kaparina had to warn the extremely careless patient.
"The starry sky is very beautiful tonight, miss, it's really worth taking a little risk for it." Tom shrugged, without any intention of getting down from the window sill, "Don't you want to come and have a look?"
"...Oh, yes, of course, I like stars." Kaparina walked over hesitantly and looked up.Then, Tom keenly noticed, she chose to stand on the side with the flashlight instead of the other side with a better view. Most of the time, her eyes are looking down. She didn't go on asking Tom to get off the ledge.
The female nurse's mind was not on the beautiful starry sky at all, and Tom was secretly happy.
He even suspected that this female nurse was not from a professional medical school at all.He thought she was unprofessional, nothing like those crazy male doctors.Aside from a routine blood draw, an absent-minded night watch, and giving him a capsaicin capsule in a sandwich that day, she had never done anything worthy of her status.Instead, her first priority of the day is to strut around the hospital in nothing but doctor's gowns — often with low necklines — and high heels.Tom was not unaware that the nurse's eyes flicked over him, especially after he had done his hair.
Tom thinks that his current understanding cannot explain the reason why Kaparina can successfully enter this institution, perhaps because she is the only woman here-at least within the scope of Tom's contact.
He was going to try a method of escaping early, starting by prolonging Kaparina's daily stay in his room.
He would decorate the hideous room, smile at her, talk about women's interests, and perhaps better yet unbutton his dressing gown halfway, and use the magic of the flashlight. Finally, let Kaparina take him out, say, in the name of stargazing.
He was going to fix his hair in front of the moldy mirror on the bathroom wall like he was in the cave with Severus. He would never tell the nurse — or anyone — that he was 73 years old.
So, when Kaparina arrived two days later, she was once again dumbfounded by the sight in the room.
During the day, Tom had just passed a crazy intelligence test, and the result was very good. The presiding doctor happily shared the dinner with him, and then let Tom wander casually in the yard.
There was no way Tom could run out of the yard, or the wolfhounds outside would tear his legs apart. But now, Kaparina saw Tom reading a literary magazine in bed.On the bedside table, the metal shell of the flashlight that was removed was leaning against the wall, with a large bouquet of beautiful grass flowers inserted in it.From this small area alone, they seemed to be in a normal residence on the outskirts of the city.
"Oh, Mai..."
The makeshift vase didn't attract the nurse for long, because Kaparina's gaping eyes soon fell on the front of Tom's unbuttoned nightgown, where a pair of slender collarbones were hidden in the shadows.
"This is really a difficult flower arrangement." Kaparina forced herself to pay attention to Tom's creativity, and then hurriedly turned and walked out.
Oh.
Tom put down the magazine, and it seemed easier to deal with this woman than he had imagined.
