Clark came to the Hall of Justice, the headquarters of the Justice League, and the seven giants of the Justice League finally arrived.

"You're late, Clark." Wonder Woman Diana Prince crossed her arms and looked at him with raised eyebrows.

"Sorry, but I haven't even had dinner yet."

"It's past eight o'clock now..." Sea King Arthur Curry asked curiously, "What are you doing?"

"Well, schools and supermarkets."

Arthur was about to continue asking why he went back to these two places, but Batman Bruce Wayne suddenly asked, "How are you doing?"

"You mean?" Clark asked, looking up.

"Brianna Byers."

The name in Bruce's mouth made the Justice League suddenly quiet for a moment, but everyone quickly returned to normal.

"It's not as bad as you think." Clark turned his head to look at him.

"Really?" Flash Barry Allen's eyes widened in surprise, "But she almost ruled the world after all, Clark. If things were simple, then you wouldn't need to come forward."

What Barry said makes sense.

"Brianna Byers is just a 16-year-old girl."

Diana frowned her heroic brows, and subconsciously felt that something was wrong, "But she wants to classify all human beings in the world. I have seen such behavior during World War II."

Clark lowered his eyes, "Brianna's alien status made her adoptive parents choose to target her at gunpoint. Her original intention was just to hope that other people with superhuman powers would not be harmed. Of course, I still disagree. her behaviour."

"But—" Diana wanted to go on.

"We have business to talk about, don't we?"

"That's right." Bruce glanced at Clark, "It's like this..."

It was past ten o'clock when Clark returned home.

He opened the door as usual, ready to eat something to cope.

But when he raised his head and saw Brianna, who seemed to be asleep with her arms pillowed on the dining table, he was stunned for a moment.

There were two steaks on the table that had long gone out of temperature. He looked at Brianna in surprise, feeling a little complicated for a while.

Clark walked slowly in front of her, sighed softly, and reached out and patted Brianna's shoulder lightly, "Brianna?"

She moved slightly, then suddenly raised her head and rubbed her eyes, "Clark, why did you come back so late? I'm almost starving to death!"

"Next time you can eat first, don't wait for me."

"Eh?" Brianna looked a little annoyed, "How is this possible? You work so hard, but I eat alone..."

"I'll fry it again, it won't taste good if it's cold." She stood up from her seat and was reaching out to bring the steak into the kitchen.

"Brianna." Clark suddenly and lightly held her wrist, "No need."

She looked at Clark in front of her, then looked down at Clark's hand holding her wrist, and coughed a little embarrassedly, "Okay, if you don't mind."

Clark noticed the subtlety in the atmosphere, and he quickly let go of Brianna's hand, "Sorry."

"Hurry up and eat." Brianna gave him a dissatisfied look, "Even if it's not tasty, it's because of your sudden disappearance. It was delicious when I just fried it."

Clark glanced at her without speaking, then picked up the knife and fork, and ate in silence.

The cold steak has no flavor left, and the appearance is not aesthetic.

But Clark somehow found it delicious.

The atmosphere was a little silent for a while, and even Brianna didn't speak.

Clark raised his head to look at her, but he didn't expect that she fell asleep leaning on the chair after eating half of it.

Today is indeed a long day. Returning from Kansas to New York is not only a bumpy road, but also a lot of places.

Gently putting down the knife and fork, Clark walked up to Brianna and picked her up from the chair.

Her room was just as they had left it, with the closet door ajar and the curtains not drawn.

Clark slowly put her on the bed and covered her with the quilt.

Then he walked out of the room and closed the door behind him.

In the darkness, Briana suddenly opened her eyes.

Brianna woke up in a hurry in the morning, when she saw Clark at the dining table, she stopped abruptly and complained, "Did you put me to bed yesterday? I'm all dirty!"

Clark pushed his glasses, "I see you are asleep, I don't want to wake you up."

Her eyes widened in surprise, "So you want me to be late for the first day of class?"

After speaking, Brianna hurried into the bathroom, and within a few minutes, the sound of splashing water came from it.

Clark picked up the bag next to him, and got up to go to work.

But before reaching the door, Brianna's panicked voice came from inside the door, sounding muffled, "Ah, Clark! It's all your fault, I forgot to take my change of clothes!"

Before the words fell, the sound of dripping water in the bathroom also disappeared, "Can you help me get it?"

Clark paused, hesitated for a moment, then turned and walked into Brianna's room.

Her room was no different from what I saw last night, it was empty. At first glance, Clark didn't see Briana's clothes.

"You can just help me get one from the closet. By the way, the underwear and bra are in the drawer." After speaking, the sound of water in the bathroom sounded again.

Clark's body froze, and he adjusted his glasses unnaturally.

"Brianna, I have to go to work. For clothes, you can go to the room to get them after I go out."

"Eh? Wait a minute!" The sound of water stopped again.

When Brianna hurried out of the room wrapped in a towel, Clark had disappeared.

The room was empty.

Only the breakfast left for her remained on the dining table.

"Tsk." Brianna was a little disappointed.

Because of her anxiety, her body was still filled with hot air, and the water droplets ran along the ends of her hair across her distinct collarbone, and then sank into the white towel.

But to be honest, although the plan failed, Clark Kent seemed indifferent to it, and Brianna was not very angry at this time.

At least he didn't turn her down when he first asked, did he?

Thinking of this, Brianna walked into her room, hummed an unknown tune, found a piece of clothing from the closet, then tore off the bath towel on her body, and changed into the clothes.

It doesn't matter, she always has a chance.

After all, a good start is half the battle.
